“Ryan!” A scream escaped Cassidy's mouth as soon as she saw Ryan bawling.
Panic seized Cassy as she sprinted towards Ryan, her mind racing with fear as she struggled to keep calm, Dave beside her. She quickly squatted before Ryan and her voice shook.
"Oh, baby, are you okay?" Cassy knelt beside him, hugging him tightly while he cried into her shirt. She checked him over frantically, relief flooding her when she found no serious injuries.
Dave crouched down beside them, gently examining Ryan's knee that Ryan was clutching desperately.
"It's okay, buddy. You just took a little tumble. Let's get you checked out, alright?" he said calmly, trying to soothe Ryan who tried to stop the tears from flowing.
Cassidy took one last look at the red bruise and a scrape on his knee and she whimpered
