Chapter 3 The formal dining room and ballroom were filled with people dressed in their finest. Todd figured the majority of the passengers were present. He felt Nick press in a step closer and slip his hand into Todd’s for the few minutes they waited their turn to be seated. “Savannah isn’t owned by the boat or cruise line. She and her mate are owned by one of the chefs,” Nick said. “They, the slaves here, seem to have a lot of freedom to come and go and socialize with the passengers. Or at least the passengers’ slaves.” Nick was sort of rambling, and Todd just let him go on.
