David was practising with the old man and Lily was working the household chores . ''' You are getting the hang of the sword pretty much well young man '' remarks the old man .'' Yes because of you , a good teacher i have '' remarks David .

'' But still you have some weakness because of this you still aren't able to win against me '' remarks the old man '' like this '' . He points the sword at David's neck . '' If it was real battle then you could be dead by now '' Lily remarks coming in .

'' I know '' he remarks . '' Grandpa ,why are you letting him learn the sword when he can't wield it properly ? '' Lily complains . '' Who said that i can weild it properly '' David grunts . '' She's right young man , you aren't able to weild it properly '' remarks the old man .

'' Do you want to weild something else which is less heavy like an arrow perhaps ? '' old man suggests . ''' I will learn it too along with the sword i will learn everything '' David says . '' In one day ? what kind of a genius are you ? ''' Lily retorts .

'' There;'s no way that is gonna be possible be realistic '' she says . '' I will make it work somehow '' he replies . '' This is not a child's play you know . Many people come to take part in the hunters quest and most of them are all professional people i wonder why did they want to let you take part '' Lily says with a sigh .

'' I got in with my own abilities this year they are letting the new people take part that's why '' says David . '' I see no wonder why would they even let you take part '' she retorts ''' anyway , try something with less weight '' .

'' What do you mean ? '' he asks . '' Something like a spear or arrow a sword is too heavy to handle for you '' she says . '' Can you wield it properly ? '' David asks . '' Yes wanna see ? '' she replies .

'' Yes '' he replies . ''Young man don't do it , you won't win against her , she;'s a powerful opponent for you '' old man remarks '' don't do it '' . '' A woman can't wield a sword better than a man let's see hand her a sword old man '' David says .

'' You are digging your own grave though '' she remarks taking one sword in her hands . David also takes the sword in his hands . '' Now approach me from which direction you like '' she comments .

'' I will make you regret for underestimating me just because i am a woman '' Lily says . '' Alright '' David charges in with his sword . '' Don;'t be reckless my granddaughter '' remarks the old man .

David was attacking her from many directions but he wasn't able to reach her . '' It's futile to win against me '' she remarks . David uses a faint to fool her using his right leg but he was overthrown by her . '' Naive it''s over for you '' she points the tip of the sword at him .

'' I lost against her '' he mutters . '' Yes cause you overestimated your opponents '' she comments . '' In a battle always think that your enemy is much more powerful than you if you overestimate the opponent that calls for your defeat '' .

'' If you can win against me one time then i think you are ready to take part in the hunters quest otherwise give up '' she comments . '' But Lily don't discourage him so much '' old man comforts him .

'' He needs to learn his defeat otherwise he can't win , tell him that '' says she and leaves the room . '' Old man '' David says . '' What is it ? '' the old man asks . '' Practise with me i can't accept this defeat cause i am stubborn , i won't give up untill i beat her one time '' he says .

''' I knew you won't give up i am with you let's practise till we drop '' the old man says . ''' Let's do it '' David says '' we will practise with sword then arrow i will win the hunters quest and become a proud hunter '' .

'' Then i will look for David in other countries '' she thought .

They were both practising till the late afternoon . Lily made lunch for them they ate and started practising again . 'Lily was sneaking on them through the first floor they were in the garden . '' You lose '' old man remarks . Lily takes the hose and pours water over David's head .

''Who's doing this ? '' he complains . ''' Cool dwon your head you seem all sweaty '' she chuckles . ''Why you ? '' he gets mad and runs towards the house where she is grabbing her hand and dragging her to the garden .

''Now you cool down your head '' David says pouring water over her too .''Why you '' she was all wet now . Old man bursts out in laughter seeing them . '' Grandpa , why are you laughing ? ''' Lily asks . '' Looking at your face , oh you kids , i just can't stop laughing '' he says .

David starts laughing too . ''Just look at you '' . '' You too look '' Lily also starts laughing . They all starts laughing . Then David sneezes continuously . ''' Did you caught cold ? '' asks the old man . '' Maybe '' he sneezes once more .

''' Go change upstairs i will bring some clothes for you to wear '' Lily says hurrying upstairs . ''' Why do i think some trouble is heading his way ? '' old man comments .

It was evening now ,

Davd was now resting after eating in the bed . '' I think you caught a little cold but you will be better after some rest '' says Lily checking temperature . ''What about practising ? '' he asks . ''Now only take rest you don't have to worry about anything it will all go well '' she assures him .

'' I hope so , i just have to win this time or else .... '' David mutters . '' Or else what ? '' she asks . '' OR else .... i won't be able to look for him i can't live without him '' he mutter in his heart . '' I gotta get the hunters pass then i can travel in other country that's my only motive '' he asserts .

''' That's why you seem so muc passionate about it , '' she mutters '' hey what if you don't leave this place and stay here after marriage along with your wife and children , that sounds good right ? '' .

There was a moment of pause between them untill David spoke up '' i won't stay here cause i want to see the whole world with my own eyes and travel i want to taste the air the water , the sun , the snow and feel the nature with my own body and for that i have to win and leave this place '' .

''You wil leave even if it causes pain for your dear ones ? '' asks Lily . David was silent . '' Yes , i will cause that is my resolution to leave this place and become a hunter to travel the world '' .

'' So you will still do it ? no matter what obstacles come your way ? '' she asks . ''Yes no matter what obstacles comes my way '' he replies . '' I see , then get back to sleep '' she says leaving the room throwing the wet towel on his face .

'' What's her problem ?' '' he murmurs .

It was evening now ,

There was a commotion among the villagers . Some people have gathered around the village . A man had come to their shop calling for the old man . '' What happened ? '' asks her grandpa . Lily was in the kitchen . '' Grandpa , someone is calling for you '' she says .

Her grandpa goes out . After a while grandpa comes in taking some weapons he goes out before going he says '' i am leaving Lily take caree of David ''' . Lily comes out of the kitchen and asks . '' Where are you going ? '' she asks .

''' Some wild animals and beasts have appeared on the border of the village and is wrecking havoc on the fields and people i am going along with some villagers to chase them away '' old man replies .

''But they are dangerous right ? will you be alright alone ? '' she asks . ''' Yes we will don't you worry '' he says '' take care and lock the door we will com e back soon . ''Take this lamp with you '' she hands it out to her grandpa .

''' Don't worry sweetie i'm leaving ''' he says and leaves .

It was quite dark outside now . ''' I hope he is safe '' Lily mutters to herself while changing the wet towel on David' forehead . '' What happened Lily ? you seem quite worried '' he remarks . ''' Oh it's nothing '' she tries to hide the matter .

'' I will bring the water from downstairs '' she says leaving the room . '' She's behaving quite oddly '' he remarks .

Lily comes upstairs after one hour .

When she opened the room she saw David trying hard to open his clothes . Lily blushed in an instant . ''w-what a-are y-you doing ? '' she shouts . ''' I am ... hey why did come in ? '' he asks trying to cover himself .

'' I came to change the wet towel '' she replies . ''' Were you changing ? '' . ''Yes , i feel kind of hot that' why '' he replied . ''' Then i guess the fever is now getting down on your head you are getting well , let me wipe the sweat off your body ''' she say approaching him .

''But ... '' he mutters . ''' Why are you blushing ? you are a boy right ? don't worry i will look the other way i promise '' she says covering her eyes . ''' Alright then '' he mutters .

She took his clothes off leaving him only his pants .

When she was wiping his body she was thinking about how her grandpa is doing now at the outskirts of the village . 'After she was done David asks '' where is old man of yours ? '' . '' He's out somewhere now '' says she .

'' Where ? '' he asks . '' That .. is in the ,..... '' she mutters . '' Please tell me where he went to '' he asks grabbing her hands . ''' He went to the outskirts of the village to fight of wild beasts or monsters along with other people at the village and still hasn't returned '' she replies .

'' What ? how can those old man's fight off those monsters ? you should have told me first .Why didn't you told me Lily ? '' he asks . '' Cause grandpa told me to take care of you '' says she '' you don't ned to go they will come back soon '' .

''No , when did they left ? '' he asks . '' Its b-been upto more than three hours since when they left and no one has returned till now '' she replies . ''Three hours and you didn't felt telling me about it i need to leave right away '' he says getting up .

'''You need to leave for where ? they are out now what are you gonna do there now ? '' she asks .

'' I will save them they are in danger , you stay here i will go save them '' he says getting dressed to leave . ''' Do you know where is the sword ? ''' .

''But ... ''' she mutters . ''No but' i gotta leave to save them ''' he remarks . '' I will go with you then you can't do anything by yourself after all he told me to take care of you '' she says . ''Now that's like the Lily i know let's go '' he says .

''Take this sword '' she says handing him the sword which the old man had given to him previously . 'Then they both head towards the outskirts of the village . The whole village was quiet now .

Arriving there they saw no one was there . '' Where are the people ? '' she asks . ''' There seems to be no trace of any wild beasts here '' David remarks . ''No look there are some traces of footprints and something dragging in the mud ''' she remarks .

'' Yeah , it seems like someone was dragging something in the bushes but who ? where are the people ? '' he asks .

Right at the moment they heard someone screaming .

'' WHo was that ? '' David asks her . '' Someone was screaming i think '' she says '' i think it was coming from the direction of the bushes ''' .

'' Let's go then , they might be in trouble that's why someone screamed '' he remarks .

''I-it's not grandpa right ? '' Lily was shivering in fear . '' Be courageous i am with you don't worry '' he says consoling her . '' I am fine now , let'; go '' she says . They both go to into the dark forest together in order to search for the old man .
