After disappearing to take a shower the other night I have spent two days avoiding everyone. This has all been abit too much and I just need some space too think. I have been going for runs around the pack. It is hard work and I can barely breathe but it feels good to stretch my muscles. It might help if I am at least in good fitness when I graduate. The warrior camp may not be as gruelling. It is currently 6am and I am just tying my laces up. Drakos and Josiah both head down to the gym at 5:30am and stay there for an hour. I have found that if I jog for around forty minutes then they are in the shower when I sneak in for some breakfast. I quickly grab a granola bar and head to school. I use the showers there and study in the library before class. If I go a different route to class each time, longer ways, then I have managed to avoid them in corridors too. I open my door but look over my shoulder to check I haven’t forgotten anything as I walk out. My body collides with something hard and I whip my head around to see Drakos. “Trying to run off and hide again darling?” His voice is hard, demanding. “I- I have no idea what you mean,” I shrug innocently. “I am going for a run.” He smiles at me but it holds amusement, “great. Me too. Let’s go together.” I open my mouth to object but close it when I realise it is pointless. We head outside and start a jog through the forest paths. The whole time Drakos stares at me rather than the path before us. We run for around ten minutes before he darts toward me. He throws me over his shoulder and I shriek out in surprise. He laughs as he jogs into the forest trees with me over his shoulder. His hand is clasped against my bare thigh, my shorts having riden up. “Put me down Drakos,” I manage to squeak out but he ignores me. He carries me until the path is out of sight and then slides me down his body. I land on my feet before he corners me against a tree. “Why have you been hiding from me darling?” My breath is caught in my throat as he presses his body to mine again. “Have I done something to upset you?” I bite my lip to keep from speaking, I have no idea how to explain my behaviour. He has not done anything wrong. His thumb reaches up and pulls my lip from between my teeth. “Goddess I have missed you.” I raise an eyebrow, “I am living in the same house.” “You have been avoiding me,” he counters and I swear there is some hurt in his tone. I close my eyes and lean my forehead against his chest. “I’m sorry. I just needed some space. It has all been a lot.” He strokes a hand down the back of my hair. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realise.” I shake my head against him. “It was my fault. I should have just said rather than behaving like that.” He presses a kiss to the top of my head, “well. We survived our first bump in the road.” I laugh against him and lift my head to look at him. There is a twinkle in his dark eyes. Before I can stop myself I lean up and press my lips to his. He seems taken aback at first but soon reciprocates. It is a soft kiss. We pull away after another moment, both catching our breath. He leans his forehead against mine. “Rumours have started to spread through the pack, I want to do the formal recognition today.” He tells me softly. “I want to claim you.” My nerves start to run haywire and he instantly notices. “Talk to me,” he encourages softly. “Why are you hesitating?” “What if I am an embarrassment at the warrior camp? What if you decide I am not strong enough? Everyone in this pack hates me and thinks I am nothing. They will not respond well to me becoming their Luna.” I rush the words out. He takes my face in his hands, “just breath okay. You are strong and beautiful and even a little brave to run away from an Alpha.” He smirks when I try to fight my smile. “I don’t care what anyone else thinks. You are mine. The rest we will figure out together as we need too.”
