A Wrong Marriage, An Unexpected Baby

Chapter 3

**** Ten years back ****

" Where do you think you are going , new girl ?

Look , you made my clothes dirty with your food . Now who is going to pay for my laundry ? "

The girl who had just transferred to a new elite school , stood there with her head down in the middle of the canteen area , while a group of students kept trying to harass her about something which she did not even do .

Being a meritorious student , Aurora Berrett entered into a scholarship program which gave her a lifetime opportunity to graduate from a renowned elite class school , of which she could not even afford to dream . Because she was a girl who belonged to a middle-class family , but it was her excellent scores in academics which finally led her to this school where wealth talks .

As today was her first day at this school , Aurora was completely unaware of all these things , which made her do a grave mistake .

Yes , she talked back .

" Though it was not my fault as it was you who bumped into me first , I would take care of your laundry , if you really want to . Just give me your shirt . I will make sure to return it clean the next time . " Aurora uttered confidently , without noticing how her words made that boy grate his teeth in anger and frustration .

" What did you say , you b***h ? You will handle my laundry , right ? Do you know how much this shirt costs ? Do you even know how much it will take to get it washed ? Probably more than your family earns in a month , you filthy rat . " His harsh words came out loudly and made Aurora step back in utter discomfort . She was not at all ready to face this kind of situation on her very first day at school though . But knowing that , everyone's attention was now successfully drawn to her by his ridiculously loud voice , that seventeen year old girl felt a bit humiliated as it was clearly not her fault . Instead , it was her middle class background which was the actual reason why Aurora had to face such a pathetic situation on her very first day at school .

At that moment , Aurora tried her best to keep the tears hidden which were about to well up in her eyes due to the cruel words that she never deserved to hear . At her age , she already knew that she was someone who should never feel weak , no matter what the situation became , or else this ruthless power hungry society would never hesitate to crush her underneath their feet without any mercy .

And maybe that was why Aurora stood there quietly .

" What now ? Did the cat get your tongue ? Speak up , you b***h . " The girl , who kept rubbing her body on that boy quite disgustingly until now , opened her mouth but only to push Aurora even further with the humiliation .

Realising that she had better not say a word further , Aurora tried to avoid them by walking away as quietly as she came , but she was stopped abruptly by a rude hand .

" Where do you think you are going without answering him ? You , uncultured b***h . " As soon as the annoying nasally voice of the girl fell on Aurora's ears , she was forced to turn around harshly at the very next moment .

No , the girl did not stop just there , as she went ahead and pushed Aurora hard all of a sudden , intending to make her fall on the floor in front of everyone , so that she could make everyone laugh .

" Ahhh !!! "

Though Aurora did scream initially due to the suddenness , her voice soon disappeared just when she realised that she had been saved from falling down at last , quite unexpectedly . It was not that Aurora did not stumble at first , as she was not at all prepared for the sudden movement , but she was grateful that she did not have to make another fun out of herself in front of everyone .

And unlike what the girl expected , no sound of laughter filled the air to satisfy their dirty hearts any more .

Instead , the entire crowd went pin drop silence all of a sudden just when a pair of hands grabbed Aurora by her waist and caught her in mid air , even before she could touch the floor .

The sudden touch made Aurora open her eyes at last , which she had kept tightly closed until now , only to prepare herself for the pathetic fall . But realising that she did not need to do that any more , Aurora looked forward , but her view was blocked by a face that she had never expected to see .

Because , as soon as she opened her eyes she saw the boy who had been sitting next to her all day long but bothered the least to talk to her until now . If he did not care to come and save Aurora at that critical moment , perhaps she would never have known how the boy actually looked . But now that he was already standing right before her , Aurora just could not take her eyes off that boy , even if that lasted for a few seconds .

In Aurora's eyes , he was beautiful in his own way . His fair skin was complimented by his black hair , which was completely disheveled and was falling in the front . His sharp nose , his square and perfect jawline , his bright eyes , his thin lips and everything else that was portrayed in front of her eyes at that moment , seemed more than charming , at least to Aurora .

Even when Aurora's heart was moved for a fraction of a second , she was well aware of her place and stopped her unwanted feelings right away .

Aurora finally stood straight with the help of the boy who happened to be her deskmate and distended herself from him in a modest way .

" What are you doing here , Gabriel ? " The boy who initiated the fight spoke up after a long silence just when he noticed the young master of the Castellanos family , Gabriel Castellanos , who had decided to meddle in at last . And of course , Gabriel was certainly not someone who could be offended by any one in this entire school .

After all , Castellanos has always been the other name of wealth and power in their upperclass society . Then how could anyone ever afford to offend the one and only heir of that family ?

Even if Aurora did not know that yet , the entire school knew who Gabriel was .

Though he was the boy who often tried to keep himself out of any trouble all the time until now , this time something different happened , which was what made the rest of the school worried for some reason .

" Apologise to her . " Without bothering to answer anyone , Gabriel uttered those words in his deep voice which surely scared others . As his deadly glare along with his cold attitude was something which anyone would find threatening at that moment .

But why ?

Standing right by his side , Aurora just could not understand why Gabriel decided to help her all of a sudden , even when it meant by going against his own kind of people , and that too , when he intentionally avoided her all day long .

Or perhaps she really mistook him as the same as the other students in this school who tried to bully her on her first day .

Aurora had no clue and stood there silent with her head down , while the entire crowd was not so different than her in front of Gabriel Castellanos .

" Right now . " Seeing that the boy did not listen to his words the first time when he asked nicely , Gabriel shouted furiously in the end and made him tremble in fear .

" S ... Sorry . " Even when Aurora noticed how reluctant the boy was to ask for her apologies , he still did what Gabriel had asked him to do . That was the moment when Aurora understood who was at the top of the hierarchical society . And Gabriel Castellanos was the name from which she needed to stay as far away as possible throughout her life .

**** The present ****

It was the first snowfall of that year .

That December night , when Aurora came out of the Cafe with a heavy heart at last , she had to meet the shivering coldness outside . Though her clothes did fail to keep her body warm in such weather , Aurora was absolutely reluctant to go back inside the cafe once again even when she was already freezing . And it was only because of Gabriel , the only person whom she should never have crossed her path with ever in her life .

But just as destiny never works according to what a person plans , Aurora and Gabriel did meet in the end against all the odds , only to make their lives further complicated .

However , she always learned not to complain as she believed that it was only her unfortunate fate which was responsible for her situation .

Clenching on the overcoat that she wore that evening , Aurora started to walk . On her way , she watched how the streets slowly started to be covered up with snow bit by bit , which turned the entire surroundings white in no time , just like her life . Colorless .

Aurora decided to walk back to her apartment that night irrespective of the fact that it was snowing hard . Probably she really needed to clear her mind that night before she went back to her place , pretending that everything was fine .

As compared to all the struggles that she had gone through throughout her life , facing the snowfall seemed much easier for Aurora .

But it appeared a bit different in the eyes of the young master Castellanos .

The moment Gabriel rushed out of the cafe , he saw the slender figure of his contractual wife walking away in the middle of the snowfall . Aurora , who was not at all bothered by this harsh weather , or the freezing coldness , seemed so stubborn to Gabriel that he could not help but clench his fists in frustration .

Unable to hold himself back , Gabriel walked out in the snow as well , as he intended to stop his wife .

" That was why I wanted you to read the contract carefully first . It clearly stated that the moment you signed the contract you became my wife .

That means you are coming with me tonight . "

Those were the words that shook Aurora once again , but Gabriel did not care at all , as he did not wait another second to push her inside his luxurious car along with himself , saying , " Back to the villa . "

" Yes , sir . " The driver replied as soon as the car started to roll down the lane in the middle of the snow on that cold December night .
