1140 Words
Colton's POV The travel time from New York to Seward Park is four hours and fifty minutes or two hundred twenty-six points two miles. The time we left Allyson's place was 10:15 am so we expected to arrive at Seward Park before 3 pm. We used an SUV van. "Are we going to stay in the hotel?" I asked Ali. He shook his head. "No. My family has an ancestral house there." Allyson said. "Oh, so your parents will welcome us?" Lex asks excitedly. "No. My parents are dead. Only my grandmother raised me." All people's bodies inside were stiff when we heard Allyson's parents were already dead. "S-sorry. I didn't know." I said in a low voice and Lex didn't say anything. "It's ok. Humans died. It's a given situation we should accept. The only problem is who is the first to be in death, right?" He glanced at me smiling then he focuses on his driving again. I am silent and look outside the window. The travel is long and we have not yet eaten our lunch so we stop over at a restaurant along the side road we saw. Then we continue our journey. Our travel is safe and smooth. At last, we see the road sign that is written ' Seward Park 2km Ahead', and giant trees are piled proudly standing beside the road we are taken to on both sides. "So we are near now in Seward near Park," I said. "Yeah. The weather here is colder than in New York throughout the year. The sunlight is limited here. The sun is shy to appear in the sky but it's light enough to give light to the whole town. So you will love the weather. " Allyson said, giving us a brief introduction about the weather in this place. As we entered Seward Park, I noticed that the town is quite progressive. There are malls, supermarkets hospitals, restaurants, etc. "Cool! I thought this place is more forest than modern but I was wrong." Lex said. Allyson glanced at him. "On the contrary you are right. There are forests here surrounding the city." "Oh," Lex says. "So you live in this city?" Cris asked. "Near the city. We are near to my house now." Allyson said as Allyson turned left away from the city and we entered the forest. The road now that we took is dusty ground. "Whoah! Buddy. It's creepy here." Cris said. "I understand you. It's your first time here. Those first-timers to go here feel like that." Allyson smiled. The twins and I looked at each other. We saw the clearing ground. "Why is your ancestral house looks like inside the forest?" I asked Allyson with a curious look, observing the surroundings. Big trees and animals. A deer was eating grass. It looks at us while chewing the grass. I got back my attention when I heard Cris. "Yes," Cris mumbled. Allyson shrugged his shoulder. "I don't know my ancestors why put their ancestral house here. But it's okay for me. At least if I'm tired in the city I can relax here." He said. Well, that makes sense. Living in the city is tiring at least you have a vacation house in the forest and have a weekend resting in such a beautiful place. When we are out from the 'forest road', we gaped at what surprising was in front of us. A huge castle in the middle forest, all in its glory was built. "I-it a castle?" We all exclaimed with open mouths. Allyson smirked and continue to drive toward the castle. "Man! You f*****g kidding me! You said it is your ancestral house but you never said it's a f******g castle!" Cris's eyes almost pop out. I frowned, this place seems odd to me. It seems familiar. I feel nostalgic. I snapped back when my shoulder was tapped. "Hey, are you ok?" Allyson said. I was confused for a moment. We are at the front door of the castle now. "Huh! Ah yes! Yes!" I said. "Ok, let's go inside," Allyson says. We four, go outside the car. We heard the door open. Creeek. We all snapped. Who was it? A handsome man who has a big build body appeared at the door. "Allyson! It's you. Welcome back!" The man walks towards us and gave Allyson a brotherly hug. "This is Elliot, guys. My childhood friend." As Ali introduced Elliot to us. I smelled peculiar in the air. It's come from Elliot who is now shaking my hands. "Oh, so you bring visitors as grandma said," Elliot said. "Yes! Where is Grandma?" Allyson asked. "She is in her bedroom. Come inside. Maybe you are starving. The food is ready for you." We follow Elliot, leading our way inside. Third Person's POV As we entered the castle, it was grand and there was a large chandelier at the center. The displays were antiques. There was a grand stairway in the middle with a red carpet. Colton noticed the head of wolves' heads displayed at the corners. He and the twins couldn't help but look at each other with meaningful looked. "Come on guys. Let's go to the dining hall." Elliot spoke loudly and their attention is back to Elliot. "Oh, omg! Allyson you never told me you are freaking rich, man!" Cris exclaimed. "What is the difference if I told you or not? My career is a policeman." Allyson humbly said. "Oh, you are humble. I envy you, my friend." As Cris tapped his shoulder. "Elliot lead them to the dining hall. I will go to grandma, first." Allyson asked Elliot. "Sure." Then Elliot invited them to follow him while Allyson went to the grand staircase for her grandmother. Knock. Knock. Knock. "Come in," a female voice spokes from the bedroom. Allyson opened the door to enter. "Granny," Allyson's soft voice made the woman turn. Her eyes sparkled with joy. "Allyson!" She hurriedly walked towards Ali and hugged him. Ali embraced his grandmother. "Grandma. How are you?" Allyson said smiling. "I'm fine, Ali. I'm happy to see you. Oh, where are your visitors?" His grandmother asked. "They are in the dining hall, granny." Allyson kissed her grandmother on the cheek. "Ok. Let's go there. I know you're hungry." Her grandmother pulled his hand to go outside the room. "Granny!" Allyson protested but his stomach grumbled. And his grandmother chuckled. "Well, well. Now what?" As her grandmother raised her brow and put one of her hands on her hip. Allyson rolled his eyes. "Ok, you win." As he put his hands in the air. After that, he put his arms onto his granny's neck and kiss her cheek again. "Come on, now grandmother! Let's eat snacks." Then the two went down the grand staircase and went straight to the dining hall.
