C30- The Trio Fights The Basilisk

Colton's POV

When all are asleep, I mind linking the twin. We meet outside our bedroom and we quietly sneak down the hall. We talk in our minds so that we can work quietly.

"So where are the three forbidden corridors?" I mind-link Alex. Alex looked around first before pointing the door at the right side. We walk through it since we can see in the dark, it's no problem for us to walk without a flashlight.

"Be careful." I remind the two. We exit another corridor and Alex turned left so we did follow him.

"Do you know where it is, Alex?" Lex said in mind. We are looking for an hour now.

"Yes. Just wait, we are near." As we walked down the long staircase then a long tunnel. There, after sweats and long searching, we found to see the three corridors.

"We are here," Alex mind linking us.

"Wow! Alex how did you do it?" Lex said. Alex smirk.

"Secret." Alex reply.

"Ok, come on," I said.

"Wait," Alex said.

"Why?"

"Remember these corridors have some spell. We did make our way out at the middle but we are not sure if it is the entrance also." Alex says.

"So what should we do?" Lex asks. Alex sniff the air. Alex has a special ability to detect the witches' and wizards' spells through sniffing. Then he glared at the right corridor.

"Let us enter here." As he goes to the right corridor

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yes. This one has a light-scented spell. Its scented smell is like some herbs that grandma told me every time I lost my way when I was a kid."

"Oh," I said.

"Ok, let's go," Lex said. We enter the corridor. It feels like we are walking to a long tunnel that never ends.

"Don't touch the walls or ground if you don't want to die," Alex said before entering the right corridor.

"Why?" Lex said.

"This tunnel is poisonous. And besides, I feel that there are many secret weapons here to kill us, so keep your hands on your sides. And be careful on your walk, too, not stampede to anything or what. We never know what awaits us here." Alex said. We nod. We trust him, he is an expert on this.

At last, we see the light at the end of the tunnel so we walk hurriedly. But Lex stamped his foot and good thing that I catch him on time.

"s**t! What happened." Alex said.

"I was a stampede to something," Lex said.

"Oh, the moon goddess! I told you to be careful but.." He didn't finish what he is saying when we heard a sound.

Third Person's POV

"What is that?" Lex said. Alex and Colton look at each other.

"I think we are in danger. Let's prepare for it." Alex said. The two agree with him. They heard a hissing sound and when they look at it comes from where the light is coming from. It is a giant basilisk.

"Basilisk! Don't look at its eyes or avoid its breath. It's both lethal." I said to the twin.

"How can we fight it?" Lex asks.

"Concentrate on our hearing powers so we should know its move and attacks come from," Colton said. They both close their eyes and enhance their hearing powers. The surroundings change. They are now in the forest. They open their eyes but do not look at the eyes of the basilisk. The basilisk attacked them.

Colton dodges the attack of a basilisk at him. It's tail attack the twin which they successfully jump to avoid it. Colton transforms to his lycan form, then the twin. He attacks its head. While the twin attacks its tail. The basilisk dodges Colton's attack and it hit Colton with its head. Colton crashed into the large tree. The tail of the basilisk swayed and hit the twins. They land on the ground, breaking their bones.

"Arrghh!"

"Arrghh!"

"Ouch! F**k!" Colton hurts. He shook his head for he feel dizzy from the fall. He growls. The basilisk attacks again, but he dodges quickly and jumps to the back of its head, and claws its eyes. The basilisk goes wild from the pain and attacks them in random movements. Then Lex was hit again while Alex jump to the middle and bite the basilisk which made it more furious. The basilisk spits to them.

"Watch out!" Colton shouts in their mind-link. Lex avoids its spit and runs to attack it. Colton digs deeply his claws on its eyes and he slashes its neck with his right hand in a quick swift move. The basilisk made a sound in pain and go in wild movements before its body lands strongly on the ground. It's trying to catch its breathe and look at them.

The trio panting still ready to fight if things come to worst. But they saw that the basilisk got its last breath before it closes its eyes to death.

The surroundings change, back to the corridor but this time they are at the front door with intricate designs of vines, flowers, and above, the two wolves howling at the moon, on center above.

"This is it!" The twin both exclaimed with glee. Colton looks at it. His mouth open wide when he saw the design above, the two wolves howling to the moon. He was stunned and glared at it for long.
