Everybody in this city still rememebered what happened four years ago.
The Bridge family was a prominent figure in East Plergant. The eighteenth birthday banquet Lynnsey held was once envied by countless people.
However, the next day of the banquet, Lynnsey's half-n***d pictures with a man spread out. Since then, her reputation and her image were ruined, and she had become the biggest laughingstock in East Plergant City.
Lynnsey disappeared from everyone's sight for nearly a year. Just when everyone almost forgot about her, she burned the Bridge villa.
The angel-like girl fell into hell overnight. She slept with some random guy and got pregnant before marriage. After her children died, she set fire to the Bridge villa before she killed herself.
Every single thing she had done was enough to hit the headline. Not to mention that she had done a list of it.
For a period of time, Lynnsey's name appeared on the front pages of every newspaper in this city. Everyone here had heard of her name.
Including Ray.
Even though he had heard about it, he seldom paid attention to gossip news.
It was difficult for him to connect the notorious woman who had been criticized four years ago with this glamorous woman at all.
"So she and I had actually met," Felix said dumbfounded, "My Mom had planned to set me up with her at that time."
Isaac shook his head, "If it wasn't because of what happened four years ago, she might have already become Mrs. Hoeber. Unfortunately, I don't think your mom would let such a woman be her daughter-in-law."
Felix squinted at him and retorted, "Who said I'm going to marry her? I was just joking."
"Don't forget that you came for Mrs. Merrick tonight," Isaac kindly reminded him.
"What Ms. Merrick? I think the most beautiful woman in East Plergant City matches me more!" Felix said with a grin, "Just wait and see how I win her heart tonight."
Suddenly, Ray said lightly, "She's not a woman you can mess with."
Felix immediately got close to him and teased, "What? You like her too?"
"No." Ray denied it fast.
Felix made a face and shook the wine glass in his hand, making no comments.
People discussed and whispered, talking about Lynnsey's history as if she was not present.
Leon frowned, and when he was about to speak, Lynnsey spoke first.
She swept through the crowd and said flatly, "It seems that you all know me, then I'm not going to introduce myself."
She lifted the hem of her dress and walked downstairs. Although she was small, she was still the most eye-catching woman in the crowd.
A faint smile appeared on the corner of her lips as she continued, "There were a lot of rumors about me four years ago. But now, I'm here, which means that all those rumors were not true."
Everyone said that she was dead, but she was still alive. However, the people present were not convinced by her words.
Even her family came out to claim her death. It was not up to her to decide what the truth was. Besides, those who were jealous of Lynnsey's good-looking face didn't want to let her off either.
"Ms. Bridge, why didn't we hold a banquet in the Bridge family, but here? Aren't you a Bridge?"
"Ms. Bridge, your pictures with a man are still on the Internet. All of us had seen it ourselves. You can't deny that, can you?"
"Ms. Bridge, what are you thinking of showing up in public again? Aren't you ashamed of what you have done?"
All the questions were harsh and irritating, but Lynnsey had seen it coming when she decided to attend the banquet tonight.
She didn't look embarrassed at all. Instead, the tone of her voice was tough and cold when she spoke again. "I came here today because I want to announce something official. From today on, I won't be a Bridge anymore. And the Bridge family will have nothing to do with me in the future."
Her gaze drifted through the crowd. "I suppose that most of the ladies present here have boyfriends and fiances. If you guys also have your own paparazzi, I can guarantee you that your pictures will appear in the headlines of the newspaper in the next six months. But I don't think any of you would like to bet on it, right?
People's faces changed at her words, especially those young ladies. Having a relationship was a normal thing, not to mention having s*x. But no one could guarantee that they would be safe if someone tried to snap pictures of them.
For a while, none of them dared to retort.
Felix drank up the wine and praised, "You are right, Ray. She's tough."
Ray's jaw tightened, because what Lynnsey said also proved that the pictures of her with a man were real. In other words, she did have slept with someone else.
Ray was inexplicably fretful. But on second thought, it did make sense.
Because how could she have given birth to a daughter if she had never slept with a man?
Maybe there was something wrong with him since he started to be affected by this scandal-plagued woman.
People finally stopped attacking her, which made Lynnsey breathe a sigh of relief.
Although she didn't care about what they said, she didn't want to be cornered as if she was a sinner.
She picked up the wine glass and was about to go over to toast.
Suddenly, a woman in a yellow dress popped out of nowhere and blocked her way. "Ms. Bridge, did you really give birth to a pair of dead twins four years ago?"
Lynnsey's face instantly darkened at her words. The stillborn twins she had were always a f*******n topic to her.
It didn't take her long to recognize the woman who got in her way. It was Erica's best friend, Shauna Harris.
It was obvious that Shauna came out to question her because of Erica.
Lynnsey regretted only giving Erica a slap before. She should have taught her a very good lesson.
Seeing that Lynnsey's face changed, Shauna sneered, "So, it's true. Turns out that Ms. Bridge has already given birth to children! It's really a pity that they died. You know, I really want to know if they had your beautiful eyes."
Every word she said was like a blade piercing Lynnsey's heart. She cracked a smile, with a fierce look in her eyes. Before she could say anything, someone walked over behind her.
It was Felix who seemed to be amused by Shauna's words before he fixed his eyes on Shauna's belly and asked, "Excuse me, Ms. Harris. May I ask, how far gone are you?"
Shauna was puzzled, "What do you mean?"
"I mean your round belly. Are you pregnant? Let me guess, four months, right?" The smile on Felix's face grew.
