Chapter 9 I Will Kill You

In a blink, a cup of scalding hot water splashed on Erica's chest. She was startled and jumped up, yelling, "Who is it!"
Erica was furious, and when she looked down, she saw Liam holding an empty glass in his hand.
The anger and the pain in her chest got to her head. She rushed over and grabbed Liam by his collar and tried to give him a slap.
But she was stopped this time. Lynnsey grabbed her wrist so hard that she felt as if she was going to break her wrist.
"Are you bullying my kids while I was away? After so many years, you are still the same!" Lynnsey shook her hand off and protected Liam and Nicole in her arms.
Erica exploded with anger. She pointed at Nicole and said angrily, "Your good girl hit my son in the face! Either I slap her back, or you do it yourself!"
Lynnsey looked down and she did see a palm print on Richard's face. But Nicole never took the initiative to hurt people.
Liam explained, "Mommy, it's not Nikki's fault. It was Richard. He called Nikki dumb and spat on her."
He blamed himself as well. Doug called him over to talk about the chip. Unexpectedly, Nicole was bullied when he left in less than five minutes. It was his fault too.
Lynnsey was irritated at Liam's words. There were two things that she couldn't tolerate. One was her kids being called bastards, and the other was someone making fun of Nicole.
And Erica did both things.
Without hesitation, Lynnsey raised her hand and hit Erica in her face hard.
Erica was stunned for a moment, and then she yelled, "b***h, how dare you! I'm going to kill you!" She went crazy and reached out to strangle Lynnsey's neck.
But Lynnsey dodged, and Erica fell and hit her face on the ground. Her face was scratched and started to bleed.
Erica had never been embarrassed like this before, and all she wanted to do was to skin Lynnsey right away.
"Your son should have known what he was doing. You have to take this slap for him." Lynnsey said coldly and picked Nicole up.
Nicole still kept her big eyes wide open, her long eyelashes were fluttering, with a blank look on her face.
Kelsey trembled in anger and shouted, "You little b***h, Lynnsey! How dare you hit my daughter! Let me tell you, you are not going to move in as long as I'm here!"
"What about me? Are you going to drive me out as well?" Tanya came out with a cane and stood in front of Lynnsey in a protective posture.
Kelsey had to hold back her anger and said, "Mom, that's not what I meant. You saw what Lynn just did. She hit Erica in front of us! She is going to mess around in this family! I was saying that for the sake of the Watkins family."
"It's you who is messing around here. If you don't want to see Lynn, go back to find your parents!" Doug suddenly interrupted with an angry look on his face.
Being yelled at by her mother-in-law and husband in public, Kelsey felt embarrassed and humiliated, but she didn't dare to say anything more.
She had to help Erica up and took Richard, who was still howling, upstairs.
It was a small episode, but Lynnsey couldn't relax. These people had shown their attitudes on her first day home. They wouldn't stop causing trouble in the future.
Kelsey and Erica wouldn't be a threat, but Nicole was still young, and she couldn't keep an eye on Nicole twenty-four-seven. If these people found an opportunity to bully Nicole again, it might aggravate Nicole's condition.
It seemed that living here would not be a wise choice.
Tanya saw through what she was thinking. She sighed and said, "Lynn, I know I can't change your decision once you've made up your mind. But can you move into the house arranged by me? Otherwise, I will get worried."
Lynnsey hesitated for a moment, then nodded slowly.
Tanya patted the back of her hand and continued, "I'm also going to hold a banquet for you to let everyone know that Lynnsey has returned alive. You can move out after the banquet."
Liam tugged at Lynnsey's sleeve and promised, "Mommy, I will take good care of Nikki from now on."
