Derrick Hanging up the phone, I stood up, making my way out of my office. Something was wrong and I couldn’t put my finger on the anxiety I could feel building up. My personal assistant sat at her desk, her fingers going still over the keyboard as I walked up to her desk. Slowly, she turned her head. Her green eyes met mine. “Sir?” “I’m heading out early.” I said, and she dipped her head, tucking a lock of black hair behind her ear. She nodded, reaching for the phone. I hated that my anxiety put her so on edge. It wasn’t easy working with another shifter, but Drea was good at her job.
