Upon their return to her apartment, Floyd adhered to her like a second skin while Sean leisurely inspected the open space as if he were searching for hidden explosives. He departed soon after, exiting the apartment so quietly that it was almost imperceptible. Lucielle was intrigued by what he might have been looking for, but not enough to initiate another conversation with him.
