The traveling was the hardest part. I was slowly getting used to it, but still the same in the end I was left with a numb lower half of my body, and the awkward quiet tension between Jem and I was slowly chipping away at the calm I’ve been trying to display. “So you’re a werewolf, like your father, because your mother was human, right?” I asked him suddenly. He had been quiet for the past few days, though I was surprised to find he slept, allowing me to lead the horse this time. It could have been he was trusting me a little bit, because of that night I stayed by his side and didn’t tell on him for hurting me.
He grunted behind me, annoyed already. “Why must you always want to know everything about me, princess?” He asked, his breath tickling my ear and making me shiver.
