Lina's POV
"Oh My Goodness!!!! Congratulations you both!!!!!!!" Maa squeals when she saw Riley and Alpha Jabari.
Riley's family and Alpha Jabari are here. Riley just broke the news about finding her true mate. Everyone in the house are absolutely thrilled about it. But through the corner of my eye I see Caleb lost in his own thoughts.
"Mind sharing what's bothering you?" I mindlinked him personally and not through the Malloy or Alpha link.
He instantly looks at me and nods. He tilts his head towards the direction of our house's backyard. I nod and walk first. Caleb follows me couple minutes later.
"I don't even know anything anymore!!!" He scoffs as soon as he walks to me.
I chuckle and look at him.
"Calm down!! Really! At this rate I wonder if your heart rate is normal" I say.
"No seriously, Lina! I know my family has been cursed. Riley is now free from the curse and here I am. Still not sure if my Beta's daughter is my true mate or fake mate or if I am just imprinting on her!!!" He says.
And I understand his worry. Just like Riley.. Caleb is yet to find his mate. Fake mate and then the real one. I wonder if he even has one.
"I see there is more to your frustration!" I whisper.
He looks at me. He doesn't say anything but just stares at me.
"When did you start being so good? Or were you always this good of an observant?" He asks.
"As if you spent time with me since childhood!!! You never really talked to me!" I scoff.
"Because I was freaked out, okay? I thought Uncle Aiden's wife left for her self respect, and fifteen years later she comes back with a daughter who is almost fourteen and I am expected to be best friends with her without knowing her? Moreover you were so tough back then. You broke bones of anyone you felt wrong" he shrugs.
I smile at it. I had been told this by so many people. I was someone who couldn't tolerate s**t! I used to beat Blake everytime I saw him touching girls. I thought he was the bad guy that girls used to hate. But turns out girls actually wanted him around so ... Oops on that!
If there is anything that the Alpha training taught Nora and I .. then that is patience. The patience to know the second side of the coin. And that made me what I am today. I don't react until I am sure.
"Okay. How about now? Friends??" He asks me.
I shake my head
"Sibilings? We both are Malloys after all" I shrug with a smile and he nods.
"Okay. So now what's bothering you?" I ask him again.
What if I find my real mate first? And if I believe she would perhaps be my fake mate.. the cursed one.. and what if I reject her? What if I am just imprinting on Maeve? What if I imprint on her dangerously to a point I'd have to reject my own mate?" He bombards everything that has been bugging him.
"Damn you are a King but your personal life sounds much more complicated than your professional life" I whisper and I mean every word said.
"When you touched Maeve, did you feel any sparks?" I ask him.
Caleb just shakes his head.
"That at least rules the possibility out. She is definitely not your fake mate. Real one or not, you'll find out then" I shrug.
"Here is the thing.. My dad's fake mate was Abigail. But when he kissed Mom...the curse broke and he felt matebond with her. Since Mom is his true mate. I kissed Maeve, okay?! And I still did not feel any sparks!! That means she is not my real mate either" he says.
My eyes go wide. I have heard stories of Uncle Carl and his cursed mate's story. Better known as the story of THE CURSED ALPHA. He found his true mate through her kiss.
"That means..." My eyes go wide.
"I am just imprinting on her" he finishes my sentence.
We don't speak anything. We just look at each other for what feels like eternity. I don't understand a single thing about what he gotta do right now. He cannot really ignore Maeve since she is his Beta's daughter.
"Why haven't you found your mate already?" I ask him.
He rolls his eyes, "If I knew do you think I would stand before you as a depressed single?"
Well, he has a point.
"Is there any territory left that you had not visited? Where you can find her?" I ask him again.
"Tough luck since the earth is vast and there are almost half pack lands for me to visit. I'd be buried under Royal work and I don't even have time to visit and spend my vacation on other pack lands" he says.
My eyes go wide with an instant idea.
"How about we take time and organise a party each month? Not really organising a party here.. but the theme would be same. Make few groups of packs in neighbourhood. Gather 3 or 4 packs at same place with the campaign of King wants to know your problems or whatever" I tell him.
He rolls his eyes again.
"Budget, Lina!! We don't have enough funds for it" he says.
"You're the King" I shrug
"Doesn't mean I have overflow of money" he says.
I bite my own tongue.
"We'll see. I'll have to think of a solution sooner. Maeve is only making me shower cold every single night!" He says.
I scrunch my nose up in disgust. Eww ewwww this man! Is this the way he talks before his younger sister! What are these men upto?! Adi is the same nasty asshole!!
"Ugh!!!!" I groan and start walking towards my house but Adi blocks my way.
"Why are you two getting closer?" He questions with his eyebrows raised.
"Who? We? Me getting closer with that nasty man?" I fake gag.
"Good. Because I'll disown you as my sister if you steal my best friend away!!!" Adi says as he runs to his best friend Caleb.
They animatedly talk to each other and I am definitely sure Adi was talking about the girl he slept with yesterday night. I came to a conclusion that they both are such and that is why they are best friends!
"Oh! Here you are!!! That man has been waiting ever since you walked out and were talking to Caleb" Maa smiles.
"That man who?" I whisper following her gaze and I see Donovan.
He is visiting every single day. Is it because he loves me or he just wants to check if I am not cheating on him? I want to talk to him in private but since my house is filled with guests right now, I decide to introduce people to him first.
"Want me to introduce everyone?" I ask him.
He slightly shakes his head that only I caught but I decided to be the bad girl.
"Oh wow! Come here" I say holding his hand and pulling him towards me.
"This is Maa and Papa. You've met earlier" I say and he nods looking at them.
This man needs to quit his nodding business. I am worried his head might fall off at this rate and I don't want to imagine him with a head bent beyond repair.
"This is Riley, my sister... And her mate Alpha Jabari" I introduce them since they sat beside my parents.
Donovan nods again. I mentally roll my eyes.
"I want to kiss him!!" Nora butts in with words irrelevant to the situation but I don't mind because I want to kiss him so bad too.
I see Adi and Caleb walking in and my eyes lit up looking at Adi. I don't know why, but my heart always warms up looking at my brother. He is my everything!
"That is Adi. Benjamin Adi Malloy. But I and only I call him Adi. He is my brother. My best friend. My partner in crime. My best enemy. My chocolate delivery guy. My favourite on this whole planet!!!" I whisper with a smile.
Adi smiles at me and walks towards me to hug me. I happily hug him back. There are times we fight but we also often let each other know how much we love each other. I have lost fifteen years of my life away from him. I don't want to anymore. I love my brother more than anyone.!
"And that is Caleb Malloy. Riley's brother and King of Werewolves" I introduce Caleb.
Donovan nods but the nod lasts a second longer like a bow. Maybe it is a bow? Considering Caleb is the King? I see Caleb bows to Donovan too. Is it just to me that Donovan seems perfectly fine? Because people shiver at his name and describes him as greatest and powerful of the whole warlock world. But he is not even a member of spiral council. I wonder why.
"And that is Uncle Carl and his mate Leah. Former King and Queen" I say and Donovan nods.
"Oh! We have met each other already, Lina!" Uncle Carl says.
"Huh?"
Donovan goes rigid.
"The day you defeated Miguel. I mean.. the day your wolf Nora defeated Miguel.. he was there. But stood far. I remember greeting him with a bow. You thought the flowers were just because of wind and the trees around you, didn't you? Sorry to break it Mr. Donovan," he looks at Donovan asking his pardon and looks at me.
"But he was the one who threw flowers at you on your first win at age of fourteen"
