Ethan’s Point of View

Being a Monday I prepared myself in the morning, I wore a blue jean, black shirt, put on my cap, and threw on my hoodie before leaving my room.

“What time are they leaving?” I asked Kelly, our house help.

“They are not leaving today. They were invited for dinner tonight so they postponed for a few more days,” She explained to me as I nodded my head before making my way out of the house.

I usually had no meals in the house and mostly when I did, I could lose my appetite before I could even finish.

We live with my cousin Kim, but I have warned her to stay away from me because we rarely see things the same way.

I am an only child of my parents and I had a young sister who passed, unfortunately, some years ago after she had committed suicide, my parents grew distant with me from then. I have tried so many times to get closer to them, but it’s all in vain. Every time I try to get close to them, they just push me away.

I pulled over in the school parking area; I got off my bike and took off my helmet. I saw Jaden rushing to me and some friends of mine. I lived a fake life at school, everyone believed that I was the bully and had a perfect life with parents who own a multibillion-dollar business.

I was the envy of my school, most of these girls would throw themselves at me, but I was never one to sleep around with girls.

“Hey Man, What’s Good?” Jaden said smiling at me as I nodded my head.

“Good… What’s up?” I said to myself, not minding why he seemed to be in a good mood.

“What happened last night, you just left saying nothing” He questioned me as we made our way to the lockers, I wasn’t in the mood to chat with him.

“Nothing. I just went home to crash.” I mentioned to him.

“Whoa! You missed out on good stuff…. You won’t believe this, I hooked up with Maddie,” He said with a huge smirk on his face.

I furrowed my eyebrows, wondering why he was telling me he hooked up with Maddie. I mean, we know the girl to hook up with any guy that has a c**k and car.

“Oh really?  Did you use a rubber?” I questioned him and saw him swallow hard as Jaden nervously chuckled.

“Not really, but I told her to take some Plan B,” He said to me as I grabbed my books from the locker.

“It’s not just about pregnancy Dickhead. What about STDs Or STIs?” I questioned him as he swallowed hard.

“it won’t happen,” He said trying to convince me as I closed the locker.

“Hey Handsome” Tanya greeted me with a smile on her face, Tanya was the girl any guy would want except me, she was an ex that I tried to get rid of several times but she couldn’t just take a hint that wasn’t interested in her anymore.

“Tanya…” I said monotone, before starting to walk away.

“Still upset about what happened last time? Oh, come on. I thought that was sorted!” She explained to me. It looked at her outfit for a minute.

She wore a short skirt that revealed almost everything under it with a tank top. I sighed heavily before walking past her.

I made my way to our class and looked around for Olivia, she still wasn’t in class.

I sat down as Jaden told me about everything that happened last night; I played along.

I watched her walk in back in the classroom; she acted like she didn’t see me and went to sit down in her chair.

“IF it isn’t the holy Mary,” Jaden said standing up approaching her. She just swallowed hard, saying nothing to him.

“What’s up? I am surprised you even have the guts to show up here today,” Jaden said to her, and I just watched her take out her books.

“Are you not going to answer me,” He questioned pushing her by the shoulder. She swallowed hard without looking at him. I could tell that she was trying not to respond.

“Hey, I am talking to you” He pushed her, and she looked at him,

“What do you want Jaden? what’s your problem with me?”  she questioned him and he laughed

“Really? You don’t know what’s wrong?  Should we talk about...?”  He questioned her as she scoffed, looking in his eyes.

“Talk about what? How you and your friends wanted to....”   She was about to say something but stopped midway when she looked in my direction and I was watching them.

She lowered her head as Jaden mocked her while the entire class was giggling whenever Jaden spoke.

Luckily, things settled down when Mr. brown walked into the class.

“Jaden, To your seat Now! Unless you want detention today” he said to Jaden with a commanding voice.  Jaden blew a kiss at Olivia and went to sit down in his seat as Olivia just lowered her head.

After class, we had to have lunch before going for our different optional classes.

Olivia’s Point of view.

I had just gotten at school and didn’t find Kim where she is usually waiting for me; I made my way to my locker, putting my bag there and grabbing the only three books I needed for this morning’s class.

I walked in class and Kim wasn’t there; I wonder what happened to her; I thought as I looked around the class. My eyes met with Ethan, who was glaring at me.

I just lowered my head before going to sit in my chair, Jaden came to mock me, and as usual, Ethan was watching me.

 I even wished Kim was here. Most of them would stay away from me whenever she was around, but not today.

I felt relieved when I saw Mr. Brown walk-in class and ordered Jaden to sit in his chair. I sighed heavily as I looked ahead. Minutes later Kim came in rushing and smiled at me before going to sit behind me.

I smiled vividly as I had just seen my savior. I scribbled something on a paper and turned around giving it to her but being careful making sure Mr. Brown does not see me.

“Where were you? It worried me,” I wrote on the paper.

She replied with a smiley saying “Chat after school” I turned to look at her nodding my head, I wanted to talk to her about a lot of things but mostly about why she was late today.

Immediately the school alarm buzzed, I grabbed my things, turning to look at her. “What happened to you?” I questioned her and she smiled at me.

“Relax. Nothing happened to me! But I want you to tell me where you went. I tried calling your auntie, but she said you didn’t want to talk to me,” She explained to me as I took a deep breath remembering that I was ignoring her yesterday.

“Well, It’s a long story. Why don’t we go for lunch, then we can chat?” I questioned her as I linked my arm with her, raising my eyebrows with a smile on my face.

“Okay, but you have to first apologize to me,” She said to me as I smiled, nodding my head as we walked out of the classroom.

I wanted to find out what happened to her and why she was late; I wasn’t interested in her s****l escapades but just wanted to know what happened after I left.

“Did I tell you we are coming over for dinner at your place tonight?” She questioned me after we had just finished our meal, I almost choked on my shake.

“What?” I said, my eyes widening, I couldn’t believe that she was telling me the truth. I found out weeks ago that she and Ethan were cousins, but Ethan preferred people not knowing about it.

“Yes, I thought I should give you a heads-up unlike what happened at the party,” she said to me as I swallowed hard thinking of what it will be like sitting on the same table with Ethan, I only hoped that he would not come.

But anyway, the only way to find out was tonight if he comes with his parents.
