Olivia’s POV
There’s nothing that I hated so much than going to that stupid party.
Kim took me there, but she left me alone. What did that Jaden say? Trying to have s*x? As if.
Waking up the next day, I rolled out of my bed and went to brush my teeth. It was my turn to walk the dog today because auntie was preparing for an interview. I just didn’t understand why she was having these interviews with reporters.
I finished brushing my teeth as I washed my face; I examined my face before walking to my closet.
I got a t-shirt and jeans, putting them on before I went downstairs; I walked down the staircase and found Auntie Rita was on the phone chatting.
“Can I call you back?” she questioned whoever she was talking to as soon as she saw me.
“Hey?” She greeted me, she looked concerned, but I was sure it scared her to She ask me.
“Morning,” I said going to the fridge to get myself milk for my coffee, I didn’t want to say a lot to her,
“Did anything happen at the party?” She questioned me as I swallowed hard, I didn’t know Morning if I should tell her that some guys wanted to take advantage of me or just let it go.
Maybe let it go.
“Nothing, I just didn’t like the party. Has Paul left?” I questioned her, looking around the room.
“Yes. Do you mind walking the dog later? I have to quickly rush out,” She said to me as I nodded my head.
“Great! Thank you” she replied beaming with a smile as she looked at me getting my cereal and coffee.
“I will leave now,” She said grabbing her bag from the table and checking if she had everything she needed.
“Bye,” I said it her as she walked out of the kitchen. I sighed heavily after she had completely left the room. I just thought of what happened last night, I wonder if Kim got home just fine.
I finished eating and went to get the dog, Aunt Rita had a golden retriever just like the one mum had before “Hey Tiff….” I said kneeling so I can untie it, it was wiggling its tail as it looked at me with its tongue out.
“I know Buddy…. I missed you too. How about we take a pleasant walk?” I spoke to it as I ran my fingers in its hair.
“Great! Let’s go!” I said, holding its collar as I put the leash on.
It started running, pulling me with it as we made our way to the gate; I had even forgotten to say good morning to Abby.
I made my way down the streets as we walked with Tiffany; I kept on thinking about what my life would be like right now with Mum. I missed her so much.
“What the heck did you do? How many times are you going to fail?” I heard the woman’s voice shouting as I walked past one yard, I swallowed hard when I saw it was Ethan. He lowered his head as the man who had parked the car in front of their gate spoke.
“Dad It’s not….” He wanted to say looking at his father, who slapped him as he lowered his head again.
“Three goddamn times! You are in the same grade as your little cousin. Better work hard, boy,” He yelled at Ethan before he got in the car.
“If you want to continue living this luxurious life, better study hard” the man spoke with authority in his office before driving off. Ethan lifted his head to look at the car as our eyes met.
I gasped as I looked at him; he was going to come and threaten me.
“Come, Buddy, Let’s go back home,” I said to Tiffany, as I gently brushed her head. I turned for my heel, walking away as fast as I could.
Was he having a hard time at his house? I wondered what parents he had to be such a snob.
“Hey Wait!” He shouted after me as I quickened my steps just so I could getaway. “I said stoop” He grabbed me by my arm as he made me stop me in my tracks making me look at him.
“What?” I snapped at him.
“What do you think you are doing here?” He shouted at me as I scoffed. Was he being proper right now?
“I was walking our dog now since I have answered your question. Let me go” I said removing my hand as I held on to Tiff’s leash. Why wasn’t she barking at him or something?
Silly dog!
“What you saw…” He wanted to say as I saw him swallow hard, looking at me as I expectantly looked at him.
“Don’t worry, I won’t tell your friends that their gang leader was hit by his father. Now I will leave,” I said to him, wanting to walk away.
“hey, I am serious. If you try to…” He tried to say as I scoffed, stopping in my tracks to look at him.
“I won’t say anything to your friends, I am not that kind of person who minds other people’s business,” I said to him wanting to walk away.
“why? Why are you always kind to me?” He questioned me as I sighed heavily. He was a pain.
“It doesn’t hurt to be kind,” I said to him before starting to walk towards our house. He said nothing, but I just heard him comment behind me.
“I am not a gang leader” He commented as I walked away.
Whatever! How was that any of my business? To me, he seemed to like it. I made my way back to the house; he ruined my day already.
“Abby?” i shouted when I reached the house, but she was nowhere to be seen. I tried to check in the back but she wasn’t there too, I went back to the doghouse taking back Tiff.
“Okay buddy, I will see you later, okay?” I said to her as she went round running, she still wanted to play but I couldn’t. I had to do my assignments for tomorrow.
Plus, I had to think of facing Ethan and his friend Jaden tomorrow, I even thought of skipping school because of them.
