CHAPTER 12

EDWARD’S POV

I felt sorry for my angel. Personally no one close to me has ever passed on and therefore I couldn’t tell the magnitude of her pain. I could not put myself in her shoes at this moment. Anyway, basing on what she had said to me, I could tell that she was broken inside. Oh, I really wanted to fix her. I wanted to help her avenge for her loss. Eventually, wanted to put a smile to her beautiful face once again. I don’t want to ever see her cry. Not when am around. I am going to take her pain away.

“Hey, let me drop you home,” I got the door of the car for her and gestured her to get in once again.

“Edward, thanks,” She said this maintaining an eye contact with me before getting into the car.

I was walking over to the driver’s side of the car when my phone vibrated in my pocket. Antonio’s number flushed on the screen and I was pissed. Why does he have to call me every damn time? I have to warn him against doing this. I didn’t achieve all the billions in my account for someone to disturb my peace with all this calls. I needed some time for myself.

“What do you want now?” I asked him after picking up the call. 

“Please tell us to eliminate Molly. Her mum has added that the girl can be very aggressive hence dangerous. Allow us to take care of her before she turns us in after ruining all our operations,” Antonio begged me.

“I will take care of it!” I yelled at him before hanging up. I can get my s**t done! I know how I execute my plans.

“Is everything alright?” Angel asked me once I joined her seating at the driver’s seat. She had noticed that my mood had changed and that is why she asked me that question.

“Everything is fine,” I lied to her forcing a smile.

MOLLY’S POV

I did not want to pressurize Edward to telling me what was bothering him because we were just trying to get to know each other. I am sure that once he is comfortable enough with me, he will always open up to me. The last thing that I wanted was to force him into doing so.

“So, how is school?” He inquired as he started the car.

“Well honestly it has been a bit boring since I am always by myself. Other than that everything is great,” I was very honest with him.

“You don’t need to worry about being bored again. I will make you happy. “He assured me.

“Really?”

“Yes Angel.  I will be in town for a while now that I am taking care of some business,” Edward said as he drove out of Lenny’s home.

“I will think about it,” I lied. Of course I could not give him a direct yes because it would portray me as a girl who is too available. As I said earlier, I have to play my cards well.

“What do you do for a living?” I found myself asking. I needed to be sure about this now that he had mentioned taking care of a business now that he is in town.

“Why are you asking?” He held back a little bit.

“Sorry, I did not mean to make you uncomfortable,. You don’t have to tell me,” I chuckled and he was silent for a couple of seconds.

“I am sorry about my reaction. I know that you have probably heard things about me and that is what I want to clarify right now.” He said this as if reading my mind.

“Listen Angel. Please don’t allow what other people think of me cloud your mind. Stories have been said about me that are not true. People have said horrible things about me. They have said that I am a bad person yet that is not true. I am not a bad person and neither do I run dirty businesses. Everything that I have right now is as a result of my hard work. I have really worked hard to achieve all this. I have stayed up late and sometimes I hardly slept so as to make it. It always breaks my heart when I hear people say those horrible things about me,” He said this in a low voice and I felt really bad for him.

“I am so sorry about that. Anyway, you don’t have to worry about me. I will never listen to what anyone else says about you. They are just empty vessels with the loudest noise. I will always believe you. Anything that comes out of your mouth is what I am going to believe, I am really sorry for doubting you,” I told him and he was so happy. In response, he took my hand and kissed the back of my palm.

“I am glad that I met you Angel,” He confessed playing with my hand.

“Me too, I am happy that our paths crossed,” I told him the entire truth with a wide smile.

“Can you guess my age?” He asked this random question.

“Thirty-five,” I mumbled hoping that I guessed right.

“You are almost there. Actually, I am forty years old,” He laughed and this made me so happy. Yes! He is at the age gap where I wanted my dream husband to be. As I said earlier, I am into older men. So far everything between us have clicked and I can see myself planning a wedding soon.

“Are you shocked with my age? I shouldn’t have said that. I know girls your age. They don’t date older men. Please don’t let my age be a turn off. Age is just a number.” He added.

“Actually, I am different. I am not like other girls for I am into older guys,” I said this and he could barely hide his excitement.

“Really? Don’t give me false hopes please” He begged for my honesty.

“I am serious about this. I have never ever pictured myself being with a guy who is almost my age,” I told him the entire truth.

“Wow, this makes me so happy,” He exclaimed just before he parked a few meters away from the main entrance of our school.

“I wish this ride could be longer,” He stated in frustration because we had already reached at our destination.

I didn’t answer him back actually because there was a question that had been bothering me for the longest time. I wanted to hear the answer from him.

“Edward, can I ask you a question. I swear, if this question wasn’t bothering me then I wouldn’t have asked in the first place.  Please answer me honestly,” I begged him and he turned to face me, giving me all the attention that I wanted.

“Of course, anything for you Angel, come on, talk to me. I will be honest with you,” He promised to be honest with me.

“Why have you not settled with a woman? Why don’t you have a family? I mean, you have everything plus you are a very handsome man,” I told him.

“Actually Angel…” He held my hands saying this and I could feel the hairs of my body standing erect in response to his touch.

“I have never met a woman like you Angel. I have travelled a lot, in so many countries, in so many cultures but I have never met a beautiful; woman like you. I have always wanted to be a family person. It is just that I have never met the perfect woman. Right now, I l would love to marry and start a family. If you choose to be with me, then why not?” He said this and I was lost of words. I never expected him to confess his feelings this soon. I was so excited that he was so deeply attracted to me and that he also considered marrying me.

I didn’t utter another word. Our eyes were locked. My heart began to pound. I sat there, feeling a desire run from my heart to my chest. His finger touched my neck, and my hair giving me chills.

His hands went from the sides of my head and down to my neck, out to my shoulders and down to my hands. He grabbed my hands gently yet firm, put them in front of me and paused. I felt so safe, he spoke no words. My heart at this point was about to beat out of my chest and I closed my eyes to take a deep breathe.

He kissed my shoulder, and run his lips on my skin towards my ear, but he didn’t quite make it that far. I tilted my head and after his deep breath he bites me gently. It doesn’t hurt,  it only makes me want more.

Next thing that I know, my phone starts ringing ruining the entire moment.
