Chapter 4 what happened to Gabbi

Carla’s P.O.V

When Toni opened the door I saw the man who just brought me standing on the other side. Toni stepped out of the way, bowing her head as he walked inside and although I tried my hardest not to look into his eyes, I couldn't help it. I took a quick look over to him, seeing that he had piercing green eyes, light brown hair that went to his shoulders and from the quick look that I got I figured he was about 5.6 and he looked to be in his thirties. I hurried to look away, hoping he hadn't seen me, but then I heard him chuckle and knew that I had been caught. I stood there with my eyes closed, waiting for the punishment I was about to receive, but it never came. I opened my eyes, fearing to look up in case that was what he was waiting for, but then I heard him chuckle again.

“It's fine if you want to look at me. I have paid the money, so you are now free to go with me and you are no longer a threat to be killed.” The man said and I snapped my head up, looking at him confused as I stood there. They were going to kill me if I wasn't sold? I thought, but I don't even know why I was surprised because this place was the grimiest place I had ever been and the people that I had come into contact with so far were all despicable and disgusting, all except Gabi and Toni. I wonder if Gabi was sold or if she would be staying here like Toni? Who was she sold to? Would they treat her alright? What was going to happen to Toni now? Would she stay here for another thirty years or would they try to auction her off again?

“Come on, don't just stand there.” He said as he grabbed my arm and gently held it, which only confused me even more.

“Don't worry, I can't bruise you because the boss will be pissed. If he sees any marks on you then I’ll be the one in trouble, so let's not have any trouble, alright. Come on.” The man said and pulled me gently.

“What happens if I don't want to go? What happens if I want to stay here?” I asked, making him loudly sigh.

“Listen, if you stay here then you will get auctioned off again. You will be bid on by someone that will probably kill you in a matter of seconds. Do you have a death wish?” The man said and I quickly shook my head no.

“I don't even know your damn name and yet you just want me to go with you and where are we going?” I asked, slightly defiant, but he just shook his head and looked right at me.

“I can tell the boss is going to have his hands full with you. My name is Kidz, I’m his right hand man and I do the things the boss doesn't have time for, which at the moment is bidding on you, paying for you and taking you back to him. Now come on, he’s waiting.” Kidz replied, still holding my arm. I looked back at Toni to see her still bowing her head.

“Hey, if you ever get out of here then come and find me, you are more than welcome.” I said and watched Toni nod, but not once did she raise her head and I suppose I had Kidz’s presence to thank for that. Kidz pulled me through the door and down the hall where I heard another girl scream in terror, making me shudder as I thought of the girl that had tried to escape and what was happening to this other girl.

“Just look forward and keep walking.” Kidz said, but I couldn't help it and made the mistake of looking into the room that had the door wide open. I saw the girl I came in the truck with called Gabi and she was under a man, who looked like he was kissing her neck, but when he lifted his head slightly I saw that he was a vampire and he was actually biting into her neck, draining her. I locked eyes with Gabi and snatched my arm away from Kidz as I started running into the room. I didn't know what I was going to do when I got there, but I couldn't let that happen to Gabi. She was the first person I met who was nice to me, who actually made me feel less nervous and I was almost at the door, but suddenly Kidz quickly grabbed me. I looked at her now pale face as the life was being drained out of her and her eyes were looking glassy as her tears fell out of the corners of her eyes. All I wanted was to save her, but Kidz was holding me in place, making sure I couldn't go any further into the room.

“It's too late for her, Carla. She's gone and he's either killing her or turning her. She won't be the same girl if she gets turned, let her go.” Kidz whispered, pulling me toward the exit. As Kidz and I reached the door the same muscular man that led me off stage appeared and unlocked the door, opening it for us and letting us out. Kidz dragged me outside, but not once getting rough with me and the muscular man closed and locked the door behind us. I looked around at my surroundings and quickly noticed a large black limo parked up to the side. He walked me over to the limo and all the time we were walking I kept looking back at the building, thinking about Gabi and what I had just seen happen to her. I was so deep in thought that I didn't even realise that Kidz had put me in the limo, until we started to drive off and the building disappeared into the distance.
