ZORA
It took me exactly thirty minutes to get the room after aimlessly walking around the ridiculously big house.
"Oh.... she finally decides to grace us with her presence." Ryker snarled.
I scoffed in response, "Not like I have a choice."
I folded my arm and rested against the wall. The former Luna looked like she was sleeping.
Thank the goddess it takes at least a week before a dead werewolf body starts to smell and gets fully cold. Which meant I had one week to figure out a way to get out of this messy situation.
Then I noticed all three of them staring at me, Ryker, his Beta and pompous maid.
A small frown made its way to my face, "What?" I asked, not quite understanding the look.
"Get. To. Work.!" Ryker snapped.
If only I knew exactly what to do.
Did they think if I really had powers, I wouldn't have brought my wolf back and used the said powers to heal my wounds??
They are just delusional and sadly, I have to feed into their delusions because of what's at stake.
I leaned off the wall and stood near his mother, "Wake up sesame!! Abracadabra!!"
"Do you think this is a joke?" Ryker yelled.
I leveled him a stare, "I'm just trying, hoping anything works. What's her name?"
"Lydia." Ryker glared in response.
"Okay, Lydia, I don't exactly know how to wake you up, but if you can hear me, please wake up. I have a wedding to complete and a family to get back to. So please, wake up."
Nothing happened..
I turned to Ryker, "Do you think maybe I need to get a wand or something?"
His hand was fisted by his sides, but his eyes were saying different things, and they were on Wesley.
I swallowed.
What the heck are they taking about?? Fvck this mind link.
"Come on, let's go." Wesley ordered curtly.
I looked from him to Ryker, "Go where? Where are we going to?"
"Locking you up." Wesley replied.
My throat went dry.
I can't spend another day in a real cell, but before I could plead my case, Ryker's voice rang out.
"Hold on." He ordered.
I sighed in relief, but my eyes widened in fear when I noticed him standing too close to his mother, leaning down a bit.
"Wesley, how many heartbeats can you hear?" Ryker asked.
Wesley paused for a beat, then answered, "Four."
Ryker's fury eyes turned on me, "What have you done?"
"I.... me... wh... I..." I couldn't form words.
He knows.
He had no use for me now.
"Agatha!!" He roared, "Who entered this room after the witch left?"
"Nobody." Agatha answered, "I stood guard all through the night, and the windows were closed."
He retired his gaze, "There better be a good explanation for this else, I'll start with your friend's children, then your friend and boyfriend. And I'll hang their heads on the ceiling and lock you up in that room."
I winced inwardly as that image played perfectly in my head.
"Wait!" My mouth moved before my brain, "Let's me try a trick." I whispered, walking close to Lydia's dead body, my heart beating in fear.
What was I doing? I had no idea.
I just felt the need to do something to save my children and friend.
I sat next to the body and touched her wrist, she was still warm.
Then I reached for her forehead and placed my hand on it, closing my eyes.
I mumbled nonsense under my breath but I could swear her body got warmer against my touch.
"Well??" Wesley pressed.
Damn him!!
He just doesn't know when to keep quiet.
"She's in limbo." I blurted out.
It was the first thing that came to my head and the only reasonable explanation that can suffice.
"Didn't you say you didn't know anything on how to use your powers?" Ryker asked, his eyebrows furrowed curiously.
"This is just a little trick I knew of before. Didn't know it had anything to do with powers. It just all starting to make sense." I answered..
I sound so convincing, even to my eyes. I'd be damned if he doesn't buy it.
He nodded to his mother, "so she's in Limbo?"
"Yes." I nodded, "In between our world and the afterlife. "
"Thay doesn't explain why her heart stopped." He fired back.
"It does." I countered, "You've never been in a limbo to know otherwise."
"And you have?" He questioned.
I averted my gaze from him, "That's the only explanation right now. It's up to you to believe or not."
"If I find out you're lying, I swear, I'll-"
"I'm not lying." I said firmly, cutting him off.
"But if you are-"
"I'm not." I replied.
"How long will it take to get out of Limbo?"
I shrugged, "I don't know. Time will tell."
He gave me one hard look and left, followed by his two lapdogs.
I exhaled in relief, my body visibly shaking.
That was really close.
Now I've bought myself some time, I just need a plan out of this hell hole and once I'm out, I'm relocating to Antarctica, where he would ever be able to reach me.
I stared at the window, my reflection staring back at me. My eye color was silver now, almost blending with the white of my eyes.
The mark on my chest glowed, feeling warm against my skin.
I don't know why the universe decided to choose now to punish me for just existing.
My stomach rumbled in hunger.
I patted my stomach and headed to the door.
I tried prying it open, but it wouldn't budge.
They'd locked me up again.
I slid down next to the door and focused on Lydia.
Maybe I should find answers as to why they think I'm a witch. Who knows, maybe a book somewhere would have answers waiting for me.
I laid on the floor instead and slept.
Sleeping in a room with a corpse definitely wasn't on my to-do list, yet here I am, checking it off.
