Chapter 10: Viktor

1189 Words
“Must we all be here, to welcome the cute little fairies?” I ask my sister, sarcastically. We are al assembled at the top of stairs, at the entrance to the palace. I stand with Victoria, our father, three members of the Advisory Council; Raiden, Lynol, and Petro, Jaxton and his sister Justine. The same entourage that has been present for each arrival of the species ambassadors. We have welcomed the dwarves, vampires, and elves so far. Now that fairies arrive. This whole scene is getting boring. “You already know the answer to that question, brother. So, shut up, and smile.” Victoria tells me with a stiff smile. I roll my eyes and watch as Oscar goes around to open the door for the little darlings of the Fae. I know I am being a d**k. I just am anxious for tonight. Soon Typhon will be arriving with my bride to be. With everything that Jax told me yesterday about the females in that male’s family, I am in for rough f*****g marriage. I have seen fairies in the past. Usually not during pleasant circumstances. They are normal-looking in their human form but with the special gifts they possess, I know how dangerous they can be and they should not be taken lightly. I know that we need to be extra vigilant. The first to step out of the SUV was the female fairy. A tiny little, thin female. She had long fiery-red, wavy hair that was wrapped into a bun-thing at the top of her head. It added maybe an inch or two to her, what I think was, four-foot height. Her body was curvy and was accentuated by the tight light blue, gossamer dress she wore. On her tiny feet were silver heels, that add maybe another couple of inches. Even with everything that was added to make her appear taller, she looked like she would barely reach my chest. She reached back into the car for a large square box. I couldn’t help but admire her nice, round arse as she bent over. I know that Jax is admiring it too, because I hear him give a low whistle, next to me. Not sure why that annoyed me a little. Even though the box looked heavy, she turned down Oscar’s offer to help her carry it. She stepped aside and let the male ambassador step out of the car. He was also lean, but at least 5 foot 9. He had dark, short hair. He was dressed in black jeans and a tight white shirt that showed off his muscular build. He was a soldier, for sure. He also offered to carry the box for the female, and she also turned him down. They walked up the stairs with Oscar leading them. When they reach us and are standing on the step below us, I look down at the female before us. She barely reaches my waist. “Your Highness, I have brought Lady Madelyn and Sir Robert, Ambassadors from the Fae people.” Oscar introduces them. Madelyn. Hm. Interesting name. I like the sound of it. “Welcome to Loret City and to our home. We are glad to have you both, here with us.” Victoria says to the fairies. The male fairy, named Robert, bows to all of us, straightens then answers, “Thank you, Princess Victoria. We are happy to be here.” The fairy Madelyn bows low to all of us, too. The p*****t in me wants to look down her dress, but I refrain from doing so, with respect to the treaty. She straightens and says, “We are very proud to represent our people and hope to be able to better communications between our people and yours.” “Thank you, Lady Madelyn. Welcome.” My father says to her with a smile. “May I ask, what is in that box you are holding, dear?” “Yes, sir. This is a small case of my father’s specialty wine, SuperNova, from our family winery, StarView. Queen Lailane said that it had been requested by the palace’s staff. I would love to talk to your staff about the deliciousness of our wine. If it’s to your liking, maybe we could begin channels of exportation, your Highness.” Madelyn says intelligently to my father. “Let me take that. I can vouch for the deliciousness of this wine, Father. I was the one to put the request in with Bernard. Jaxton and I had the opportunity to try this wine yesterday, with..um..some friends of ours. If you would like, Lady Madelyn, I can introduce you to Bernard, our palace cook.” I offer as I extend my hands to her, to take the box. She looks up at me, the instant she hears my voice as if she just noticed me. She stands there for a few seconds, still holding the box of wine. “Lady Madeline?” I ask again. She blinks and shakes her head. “Um...of course. I would love that, Prince Viktor.” She says to me with a dazzling smile. “Please. Call me Viktor.” I say, without thinking. Everyone around me stops and is quiet. Almost as if they were in shock. “So, yeah. Here let me take that from you, it must be heavy.” I say, to break the silence. I guess she realizes that she is still holding the box, “Yes, of course. Here you go.” She says to me. Her hand brushes mine and I am surprised at how warm it feels. She takes her hand back quickly before I have a good grip on the box. Luckily my dragon makes my reflexes exceptional and I am able to grab the box before we drop it. “How about we let them get some rest, after their long drive, brother,” Victoria suggests to me. “Yes. That would be great, Princess Victoria. Thank you.” Robert says. “Great. Oscar, please grab their bags and take them to the rooms in the right guest wing. Lady Madelyn and Sir Robert, please follow me.” Victoria says and turns around. She gives me a weird look and I shrug at her. “Thank you, please call me Madelyn. Excuse us.” Madelyn says to the rest of us and she follows my sister up the stairs. “Thank you again, Your Highness and Viktor,” Robert says to us and then follows behind Madelyn. He seems to be following her kind of closely. To close for my liking. What the f**k? “What the f**k was that?” Jax says to me as we head inside. “What?” I answer, not exactly sure what that was myself. “Ok. You play dumb. But I know that sexy fairy made an impression.” he says to me. “f**k you,” I say back to him. But I can’t deny the strange pull I have for the little fairy.
