Our mothers almost had a heart attack when we told them what had happened, by video call. Our parents were furious, as if we had done it on purpose. They sent the money for repairs, but they still forbade us to go down such dangerous paths alone.
We know how lucky we were. A little sooner or later, and none of us will be here to tell the story. Our teammates and the coach also cracked our heads, but nothing affected our good mood.
When we got home that Sunday, we showered, ate and slept, such was the tiredness and body aches, but on Monday, we already felt refreshed, and now, after classes and putting the bicycles in for repairs, with no one else to scold us, we went back home.
As soon as we got inside, I went into the kitchen, washed my hands and started making dinner.
