Happy Reading, ~Dodi As he entered the classroom on his first day, he could not help but feel a high level of curiosity about Seraphina. His gaze, fixed upon her blue eyes, found them glimmering. They exchanged looks. While Seraphina's gaze wasn't as deep, compared to Aurelius, he looked at her deeply, almost as if he were piercing her soul. The teachers present in the class asked everyone to introduce themselves. Aurelius was eager, focused, and very attentive to a specific introduction—Seraphina's. He was curious about the voice this beautiful angel could have. So he listened carefully to what she had to say. She loved music and going on trips to discover the world, but she didn't delve into details. Aurelius introduced himself vaguely as well, mentioning his love for music, drawing, and writing novels but also mentioning he had stopped a few months ago. Two artistic souls were destined to meet each other—two broken souls, two broken artists, and two survivors of their past. In human language, people call this a soulmate, that one individual that destiny desperately tries to bring together. But neither of them knew that this story would somehow start to save them and heal them slowly from their tragic past, at least not yet. The first day went normally. Seraphina did not seem to be interested that much, at least, she thought to herself... the scars of her past experiences were still here, not wanting to heal properly. But for Aurelius, it was a whole other story. Even though with all his scars, he remained curious about her but was kind of precautious. He didn't trust anyone around him, but strangely something pushed him towards this girl. Seraphina went back home without thinking about anything from Aurelius, at least for now. Aurelius had that girl in his head on the very first day. He was thinking about how he could approach her without getting a bad reaction... a few moments later, they both slept that night with their own thoughts. The second day went the same, both of them in their own little world. Aurelius judged it was too quick to start talking to her, so he did not make a move on her. And it went like this for about a whole long month until one day a funny situation occurred. Aurelius, at the end of school, saw Seraphina going home by herself and decided to make a move by going to talk to her. The current passed, as they ended up taking the bus together until both reached their home and departed on their own way. Then Aurelius went back to his apartment, well not completely his apartment, as a family member was allowing him to stay until he finds a little home for himself... but let's get back to what really matters. That day on his way back home, he found himself in front of the door, not receiving an answer... So he called his family member and discovered that she was not at home and he had to wait for them to come back. The temperature outside was cold, and he decided strangely to go and complain to Seraphina. But the thing you did not know about Seraphina is that she briefly knew Aurelius's family member, due to some problem that occurred between her parents and Aurelius's aunt... but once again it's only a useless detail that still has at least a little importance to do with the plot of the story... Like I said, Aurelius decided to complain to Seraphina... on her side, she replied pretty positively, and to Aurelius's surprise, she invited him to her place. More surprisingly is that Seraphina was living only 5 minutes by foot from where Aurelius was living. He was kind of on alert, but the truth is that he did not want to disturb her, but he finally decided to go... Once he arrived at her place, Aurelius was completely transformed. He usually showed himself as a strong individual with a distant and cold attitude, but at this exact moment, he was completely docile. After all, he was in the home of the girl he potentially had a crush on... funnily enough, he stayed almost at the doorstep for almost a good 30 minutes without knowing what to do, except looking at his feet. Clearly, his heart rate was absolutely fast... but after those 30 minutes, he finally chose to sit down. They continued the chat they had on the bus on their way home. Surprisingly, Aurelius started to dive a little deeper into what he was saying because the thing that Seraphina did not know about him is that Aurelius is a good observer and listener... Aurelius sensed that something was wrong with Seraphina too, and somehow tried to establish an emotional connection. Seraphina was cautious to not say more than she needed to say. I guess it was for her own security... she wanted to protect herself again. And this, Aurelius understood directly... he continued to speak about himself to see if there were a few movements or any kind of reaction that could betray or fragilize the wall she put against Aurelius... They continued to talk for a few moments, and then Aurelius left to go back home. This day finished on a good note. The two of them were happy to talk to each other. Seraphina expressed that she had an actual good time talking to him, and the same goes for Aurelius... The night came in, and Seraphina thought about what she learned about him, that he was the nephew of the person that her parents had a problem with... and also about what they shared about each other but was still convinced that the wall she put was for a good reason. Aurelius, on his side, thought about everything that had been said and heard. He definitely was crushing on this girl and that she might be the key to his healing process and to finally being able to feel love like he always wanted... On that day, was the start of their story, where they met each other, where they could share and laugh on the same day... But something that they did know is that while both of them were talking, their hearts were whispering to each other secretly, approaching them slowly from that beautiful story that was waiting for them ahead...
