Here we are, their love story has debuted, and I'm here to tell you what happened between these broken souls.
The first week of being together was like a honeymoon. They were living the time of their life and were slowly deepening their relationship by discovering a lot of new things about each other. Their relationship was already built on trust and communication, but they both knew that they had a lot of effort to do for their partner.
Seraphina, on her side, had to learn how to open up and trust a little more, allowing herself to be happier. Aurelius had to learn to allow himself to be happy and fight his shyness to avoid misunderstandings between him and his partner. But they had pretty good foundations, both of them.
They were spending time together almost every day, after school, and during the weekend too, and it did not seem to disturb any of them...
They had no problem talking about deep topics and no problem transitioning into bursts of laughter; they were just perfect together, completing each other.
Let's dive into a little more detail about our characters.
First, let's start with Seraphina. She seemed happy, but she was not really, at least not yet sure about that relationship. She was like examining the field to see if it's worth it, keeping a little distance between him and herself just in case she wanted to stop, almost as if she was protecting herself from danger. Her heart was with him, but her reason was not yet there to agree with her.
The problem is that, as previously mentioned in her background, she learned to do things by herself. As she knew that Aurelius was someone who loved to help and be protective of her, it was somehow contradicting to her principles. So she stayed for a moment, closed to any topics related to herself because of her difficulty trusting people and her independence, which is totally understandable, you will say. But as time passed, she is slowly learning to let her guard down because Aurelius was showing her that there was no ulterior motive in his mind, which put her at ease. So she opened herself and slowly started to talk about herself, even if her past is painful. But at that time, she did not let a single tear slip and tried to make it seem normal and that she had healed from that. But between you and me, we both know it's not true, and Aurelius knew it too.
But slowly, she was making a reason to herself that she needed to accept that she was happy with him and that blocking emotional access was not the right thing to do. So as time passed, she finally delivered herself, and for the time, she talked about herself and her painful past... You should have heard her; her voice tone was expressing everything she was keeping to herself... And of course, it helped her because she was more relaxed and finally accepted to talk about this because she knew that Aurelius had no reason to use that against her.
Now, let's dive into Aurelius. Opposite to Seraphina, he was more open to sharing his painful past. Maybe it was because Seraphina was the first person to listen to him like he listens to everyone venting, or maybe he never got the chance to express himself, or maybe he wasn't allowed to do so... Whatever the reason was, you can see that every time he talked to her, he was like getting free, at least partially free from the invisible weight he was carrying. Of course, I'm not neglecting the weight that Seraphina has on her shoulders too, but in that context, I had to mention it to make sense. I'm sure you will understand.
Aurelius was doing his absolute best to make sure that she is protected, maybe a little too much... And Seraphina noticed that; it was putting her in a little bit of an uncomfortable place. But Aurelius persisted. In a way, I think we can say that one has a distant profile and the other one a close profile.
Aurelius knows that she is independent and strong, and Seraphina knew that he was strong but needed help due to his low self-esteem. Of course, Seraphina had low self-esteem too, but she chose to fight it.
The two of them were the completion of each other...
During moments of tenderness, Aurelius was the most shy of the two... And I see it coming; you will probably think that's because he's a virgin. Well, you are right, 22 and still a virgin... But I don't see any shame in this. I think it's a green flag; at least he preserved himself for the right person. But, sorry to disappoint you people, he was not interested in those types of activities... He would rather choose to cuddle, hug, or kiss the cheek, but before that, he had to go through a lot of effort to actually do these things.
See? Aurelius was a kid with no human interaction, except his abusive mom, who was overprotecting him, so no wonder that he could not keep eye contact with any girl he would see, especially the one he had a crush on. On the other hand, Seraphina was okay with his attitude; she seemed to be quite good with those kinds of things. But of course, she also had some "No touching zone" which was completely respected by her partner. In a way, I think that's what made the start of their relationship so easy; the mutual respect they had for each other was beyond comprehension.
Anyway, they shared a lot of things together at the start of this relationship... And each of them was slowly but surely accepting how their respective partner was... It went on for a couple of days until one day they finally reached one month.
And slowly, the first obstacle started to appear... Will this "Tender Feeling" evaporate and cause the end of their story which just started, or will it continue to shine through the darkness?
Love is a difficult and painful feeling. It's hard to understand and hard to accept the differences and the bad sides of your partner. It involves a lot of sacrifices, a lot of dilemmas between your own demons.
But love is also one of the most beautiful things to ever exist on this earth; it's a tender feeling that allows you to share your happiness, pain, fear, dreams, and doubts with your partner.
Only one question remains, and usually it's the hardest to answer: Will you let your past win over you, or will you try to turn to your future and accept who you are and live with it, knowing that your partner might be here if he/she truly loves you?
The choice is yours.
