Annette’s POV
The garden was bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, casting long shadows across the grass. On each side, a perfectly symmetrically lined flowers graced the sidewalks. Greg stood a few meters away, his gaze fixed on me like a guardian angel. For the past one hour since I'd been in the garden, checking out the flowers, he'd been keeping his distance. I wondered why.
"Hey," I said, trying to break the silence between us.
Greg shifted his weight, his eyes still locked on mine. "Yes, Ma'am."
I took a deep breath, gatmying my courage. I hated how awkward the silence was. "Can I ask you something?"
He nodded, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes.
