Today at the Johansson family residence, many people passed by, preparing for the birthday of their only son, Sean Johansson. For April Archer, this was more important than her birthday. She'd been busy in the kitchen since evening making Sean's favourite black forest cake. Since childhood, Sean Johanson, her neighbour and playmate, has taken her attention from a young age until she is 23. April's passion for Sean hasn't diminished in the slightest.
"Oh, you're awake, honey?" Marry, a woman in her fifties who still looks beautiful greeted Sean, who was yawning in front of his bedroom door.
April, who heard Mary greeting her son, immediately got up. She smoothed out her dress and hair, starting to get tangled. April was ready to welcome Sean with her sweetest smile. Sean always looks handsome in April's eyes. A well-built body, a firm facial line, blue eyes, and blonde hair has become her dream.
"Happy birthday, honey. I wish you happiness always. Mommy only wishes you the best." Marry hugged Sean, then kissed his right and left cheeks.
"Thank you, Mom." Sean kissed Marry's cheek back.
"Hi, Sean." April smiled at Sean as she handed him a black forest cake. "Happy birthday. I hope you like it."
"Oh, thanks." Sean's cold voice didn't keep April away from him. She was used to it; even the smile Sean forced was perfect in April's eyes.
"Sean, give it a try. I made it this morning, especially for you. Could you rate it? Is it better than last year?" April is always talkative; besides her nature, she would be noisier if she were by Sean's side.
Sean sighed; April's nagging attitude was one he hated when he came home. This girl has always followed and stuck since she was seven years old. Sean had ignored and stayed away from her, but the girl didn't seem to understand and turned a blind eye to the cold treatment that Sean gave her.
"Come on, Sean, just try it a bit, hum?" April didn't give up, and she chased after Sean, who walked into the living room.
Sean was sitting back on the sofa with his eyes closed.
"Sean, Sean, come on." April pulled Sean's hand, which was closing his eyes.
Sean was annoyed with April's whining bothering him. "Shut up." Sean reflexively threw April's hand so hard that the cake in April's left hand was thrown to the floor.
April's face stiffened. She felt her heart pinch because the cake she'd worked so hard to make this morning was piled on the floor before Sean could taste it. Her eyes began to condense; she held back the sobs that wanted to escape her mouth.
Sean didn't expect his grip to be so firm that April's hand had to become a victim of his anger.
April squeezed her dress while biting her lip. She kneeled to clean the cake out of shape into a paper bag.
"Hello honey, don't bite your lip! It's going to bleed. Oh, black forest cake looks delicious." Logan Knight, also April and Sean's friend, was already standing before April. He bent down, poked the cake on the floor with his index finger, and sucked it. "Emm…delicious; your hands always work wonders, April." Logan smiled and licked the side of his chocolate-filled lips. He grabbed April's hand. After aligning with his body, Logan hugged April, who immediately sobbed in Logan's chest.
Sean, who saw them hugging, rolled his eyes up. Sean knew Logan had always liked April. He was annoyed that Logan was a playboy who switched from one girl to another in days.
"Hey, Log, let her go. You don't mean to take a chance on the odds?"
Sean wasn't jealous, but he was annoyed with Logan's behaviour. His affection for April, who is considered his biological sister, causes him to fear that April will be hurt by Logan, who incidentally is a playboy.
"Hey, dude, what's up? You made her cry; I helped you calm her down. You should thank me, not the ugly face you gave me; I'm sick of it." Logan smacked Sean on the shoulder.
April immediately moved away from Logan; she was embarrassed when she realized she had hugged Logan for a long time like a lover caught cheating. "Sean, I-I didn't mean…."
"Listen, April, for that one I…."
"Ah no, no. You must have done it by accident. I believe. Don't worry; tomorrow, I'll make something better than this one." April's eyes lit up with joy. With both hands, she wiped her tears. So quickly, her mood improved just by hearing a few words from Sean's mouth.
Logan snorted, like the third person between his two little friends. Logan has a handsome face, no less than Sean. Only Logan has a gorgeous look, the Latin version of Caucasians; his lineage from his mother, who comes from Spain, has made him popular since his school days, surpassing Sean, who has a cold attitude towards a girl.
It's a shame his handsomeness and popularity can't touch April's heart, a brown-haired girl with hazel brown eyes and a dimple on the left cheek. April is a girl who has filled his heart from the past until now.
"Mmm, I'm here. You think I'm just a lifeless display doll?"
"Relax, man; you can come with me, April. I'll be ready before the party starts." Sean pointed to his gloomy face.
"No need; I will help Aunt Mary in the back." April rejects Sean's proposal. She didn't want to be alone with Logan, who bullied her. April knew Logan had feelings for her.
"Come on, April. I'm not going to trick you. You forgot you stuck to my chest so long that my clothes were wet." Logan smirked.
"Never mind, Log. Don't bother her! Come into my room, wait for me, in the room!"
"Don't control me, Sean! I don't like it." Logan is approaching April.
"Sean, look at him! Logan is coming over to me." April stood behind Sean's body.
"Huh, the reunion this time, it might get louder. You guys are like Tom and Jerry." Sean left the two of them fighting.
"April, give me one kiss please…." Logan had managed to get rid of Sean's body. He lowered his face, staring at April's seductive red lips.
"Sean, help me..." April moved backwards but stopped when she hit the wall behind her.
