“Are you okay?” Lamar asked Lola, who ran into his arms the moment he closed the balcony door.
Lola nodded, sticking to him.
“You heard everything, didn’t you?” Lamar asked. He was not planning on telling Lola about Zake and Cody because he did not want to scare her, but there was no chance of that now.
Lola nodded again. She was woken up by a full bladder and noticed that the door to the balcony was opened and heard Lamar talking to the man whose voice she could never forget. She was shaken at first to learn that two men had been watching her but, like Lamar, she came to the same conclusion that Zake and Cody needed help. That’s when she looked at them as potential clients she could actually help and started finding Lamar’s reactions to Zake very amusing.
