I wake up to my head throbbing in pain. I can barely see out of the slits of my eyes they are watering so bad. I try to move but I’m in a tangled mess of arms and legs. I just lay there trying to remember how I ended up here. I slowly blink as everything comes into focus as well as my foggy brain starts to work again. I remember Caleb coming into my room last night and demanding I go to the last frat party before going home the next day. I remember the first couple of beers then everything gets foggy. I remember Caleb sprinkling wolfsbane into our beers and telling him it wasn’t a good idea.

I open my eyes and look around. Holy s**t! There are two women and one man wrapped around me. D*mnit! This is why I didn’t want to come to this party. I carefully remove the man that is on top of me with his head on my chest. I feel myself slide out of his hole still rock hard. I set him on my side as I scooched on my side getting out of one woman embrace and lay him next to her. I sigh picking the other woman’s leg off of me, then her arm. I hear moaning all around me. These humans are something else. I get up and find my clothes and start the hunt for Caleb. I find the room his scent is coming from. I push the door open and find him naked on a bed with five different women passed out and one riding him. I clear my throat.

I see him look at me and he nods his head. I turn around and take the stairs two at a time. Looking at my phone, we should just make it to the airport. Good thing we had everything already packed up. Bad thing I’ll be going home for the first time in four years smelling like a two-bit w***e. I sigh, hopefully the first-class plane has a shower. I could really use one. I’m standing on the front porch as I message our uber to come and take us to the airport. About ten minutes later Caleb comes walking out with a sh*t eating grin on his face. “Had to take your time Casanova?” He looks at me and smiles as I see our ride pull up front. “Well at least I’m just in time.” He says to me as we jog to the car and hop in.

As we are in the car, I notice the driver has ear buds in to give us privacy. “How long do you think we have before we have to take up our duties?” I ask looking over to Caleb. He has always wanted to be Alpha and he has trained hard for it. We were never close growing up. We ran in the same click but were never really close friends. He always picked on my sister Ellie, and I hated him for it. It was when we were paired up after our ranking ceremony that we became the best of friends. It was a hard start, but we made it, now it seems like we can’t be separated. Nothing sexually related though. He is completely straight while I’m bi. I don’t judge him, and he doesn’t judge me. We work great together even if I don’t always agree with him. Like that party last night.

“I don’t know. I guess it depends on how long until I find a mate.” I hear the fear in his voice. I have never known him to date anyone at all. Just one-night stands in matter of fact he never has slept with the same woman twice. At least not that I know of. I think he is really scared to have a deep relationship with a woman. I sigh and nod my head. “Two bad Fated Mates is just a story made up for children, huh?” He looks at me. “What do you mean?” He asks me with a frown on his face. “I mean it would be nice if they were real. That way we could always know when someone is meant for us. To be our perfect other half of our soul.” He chuckles at me. “There is no such thing. If either of us get married it will be because they want our title and nothing more. Power rules this world my friend and being in one of the largest packs they will be swarming us. Just wait and see.”

I feel sad for this man sitting by my side. “Don’t you believe in love?” I ask him as he chuckles. “What are you a woman. Do you need a pad or something?” He asks as my face turns red. “I’m serious.” I said in a growl as he looks out the window. His chuckling stops and he says in an angry voice. “There is no such thing as love. It’s just people using each other for their own benefit.” I stare at him as he turns to face me. “I didn’t know you were so cynical.” I said as the uber pulls up to the airport. He snorts at me. “Not cynical, just real one hundred percent.” I shake my head getting out.

As I reach the front counter Caleb is already there flirting with the young female worker. I shake my head not wanting to hear it as I stand off to the side and ignore them. I swear Caleb is a male w***e. All he did in the last four years was sleep with every woman he could find. At least he always made sure they were of age before doing anything with them or he most definitely would be in jail right now. Knowing his father, he would have left him there to rot to. His dad is my dad’s best friend. They grew up together and never parted. My dad became his second in command. His Beta right after they had their own rank ceremony. I sigh and look back at Caleb hoping he is almost done.

He suddenly turns and smiles at me making his way towards me. “Good news, dad sent his private jet to pick us up. It’s already loaded with our bags and ready to go.” I smile knowing I can at least take a shower before greeting my family. “Well, I’m glad I’ll be able to shower and not go home smelling like a street walker that’s been working all night.” Caleb laughs at me and nods his head. “Your right, but I think I smell worst then you, right now.” I chucked knowing he was right. “That poor girl had to deal with it, huh.” He cracks up laughing for a moment. “Hell, I didn’t even think of that. No wonder she wouldn’t give me the time of day.” We both laughed as we went through the check points.

We had just entered the plane when a she-wolf came up to us. She automatically started flirting with Caleb, but he was not having any of it. “Look I don’t want to have s*x with you or date you for crying out loud. Do your job or this will be your last assignment.” I heard him yell at her as I was sitting down in a seat and strapping in. I stared wide eyed as Caleb finally made it back to the seats. I can see the look of discuss written all over his face. I heard the she-wolf crying as she started making sure everything was secured before takeoff. “Man, you were a little hard on her.” He stares at me and huffs out a breath. “Man, she just wouldn’t stop. I refuse to sleep with any she-wolf unless she is my wife and mate. When I do find the one, I don’t want every she-wolf looking down on her because I slept with them. My Luna deserves more respect than that. That’s why I got it all out of my system the last four years.” He huffed again after his rant. I looked at him through new eyes. “Respect, man. Respect.”

After takeoff I got up and found my duffle bag in the back bedroom. I snag some clean clothes and a towel out of the cabinet. I walk out of the bathroom and see Caleb walking straight for me. “Hey man, going to take a quick shower.” He nods his head. “Yah, just wake me when your done so I can shower myself.” I nod my head and open the door. The bathroom is huge. Talk about luxury, the Alpha sure knows how to pick out a plane. I turn the taps on the shower and find just the right temperature. I strip and jump in feeling heaven in the hot water. I wash all the scents off of me. I feel so much better as I’m drying off with a towel. I brush the nasty taste of the beer out of my mouth.

As I step out of the bathroom, I’m surprised to see the bedroom door shut. I go to the door an open it. First thing I see is the she-wolf undressing herself. I look over to the bed and see Caleb fully clothed sleeping on his belly facing the opposite side away from her. “What the hell do you think you are doing.” I yelled waking Caleb up instantly. He lifts his head and looks over to where I’m staring at. “Make sure you pack all of your stuff up and pray to the Goddess that you don’t just lose your job but your place in the pack.” I screamed at her. Caleb looks over to me with a proud look on his face. “You heard your future Beta.” He says and I just stare at her as she really turns on the water works. I just shake my head as Caleb smiles at me. “Thanks man. I don’t need anyone trying to black mail me which is probably what she was going to do.

I shake my head not believing what I just saw with my own eyes. I will have to be on my toes going forward, that’s for sure. I stared at the she-wolf the remainder of the flight. She knew I was pissed, and I have the power to end her job just not kick her out of the pack like I would like to do. We do not need wolves like her poisoning the rest. One bad apple ruins the bunch my dad always says. When the plane landed, I made sure she had all of her personal items. “Badge, Key fob, and access key to the airport. Now….” She had tears running down her face as she handed over all the items I asked for. “I…I…I jus” I cut her off before she could complete her sentence. “You sexually harassed our future Alpha. There is no excuse and if you know what is good for you, I will never see your face again.”

I turn as she runs away from me and see my dad waiting for us. A smile crosses my face as I feel a clap on my shoulder. “Good job Beta.” I looked at him and shrugged my shoulders and picked up my bag as I noticed an attendant unloading our luggage from the belly of the plane. We start for my dad, and I couldn’t keep the smile off my face.
