I’m in the kitchen helping my mom bake the cake for the homecoming party for Caleb and Ronin. The Omega’s at the pack house are making all of the food but mom put her foot down when it came to the cake making our Alpha laugh his ass off while the Luna just smiled and nodded her head. Right now, I look like I got caught in a sandstorm of flour. It was all over me. My mom just started icing the cake and looks over and giggles at me. I give her my stern look and she doubles over laughing out loud. I huff at her “Really mom?” I say as she stands back up, holding in her laughter. “Go get cleaned up. Your father has already left to get your brother and young Alpha Caleb from the airport.” As soon as she said that I race away.

I make my shower quick and throw on a pair of ripped blue jeans and a faded blue shirt with my reliable plaid shirt over top. My plain deck shoes on my feet. I go running down the steps just in time to help mom with the cake. “Well at least you put your hair up and why are you wearing that?” I look at her surprised. “What’s wrong with what I’m wearing? This is me, it’s what I always wear.” I say as we are walking towards the pack house. “Not for long.” I hear my mother say but before I could get a response out, I hear the cheers. “Oh, hurry Ellie, their here.” My mom says happily. I smile as we get the cake on the table just for it. It’s a monster three teared cake. Whipping my hands off I race after my mother.

As I get to the pack house door, I see a sea of wolves with no way but to feel like a calf in a herd of cows. Nope not today. I will just wait here for my brother. Out of the corner of my eye I see someone with a hoodie on with the hood up trying to sneak around the building. I move quickly and quietly as I tackle him down to the ground and have his arm twisted behind him. “Who are you and what do you want?” I sneer in his ear. “What the hell.” He says to me. I twist a little harder. “Answer the question or I’ll break it.” I get out before I’m thrown off of him and he jumps to his feet ripping his hood off. “How in the hell did you just throw me off?” I ask as I mind link my dad.

“Oh, my aren’t you lovely. So, tell me beautiful who are you?” I stare dumbly at him. “What…. Are you flirting with me?” He just smiles at me. Do I know him? He looks so familiar to me but that can’t be. I would remember seeing someone that looks as good as him. My mouth is watering just looking at him. I can feel the sweet desires running through my body with the way he is looking at me. I gulp as I have never felt this way before. I go to open my mouth when I see my dad and Ronin running up to me. “Ronin, I scream, and I run and jump on him.” He twirls me around and around before setting me down. “Hey sis, does this mean you missed me.” I swat his arm as I looked at him. “Just a little.” Then I hear my dad say. “Alpha Caleb are you alright?” I start to sputter as I turned and looked at my dad’s back and see the smiling face over his shoulder. As he stares at me with a smile on his face. “Yes, I’m perfectly all right. Never better.” He says as he winks at me. I blush looking down at the ground.

I can’t believe that I tackled the soon to be Alpha Caleb. What was I thinking! I feel my face turn bright red as Ronin throws his arm around my shoulders. “You’re looking good all grown up sis.” I elbowed him in his side and smile when I hear him grunt. “She did what!” my father says drawing my attention to them and I see the angry glare of my father. I can feel my neck is red now with anger. The little s**t told on me. We walk towards them, and I hear something that shocks the daylights out of me. “You should be proud Beta. She seen someone sneaking around our pack lands with a hood up looking suspicious. I myself am very proud of her.” I see my father looking back and forth between us. He knows we have never gotten along and there should be no reason why we would now.

I snort as I see a smile spread across his face. When I look back at Caleb, he winks at me. My blush deepens, if this keeps up, I don’t think my face will ever return to its normal shade. I look down at my feet again. “I agree, come let’s get you to your dad before the village sees you and swarms you.” He chuckles as they lead the way. My brother pulling me with him. “What happen with you and Caleb?” Ronin whispers in my ear. I really don’t know how to answer his question. I just stare at the back of him licking my lips. He has a fine behind and I can see his muscles ripple as he is walking side by side with my father. “I don’t know. I tackled him and then…... I just don’t know.” I whispered back. How do I tell my brother that he was flirting with me, and I liked it……… Did I? I question myself. I nod my head. Yup, I sure did just like I’m liking the view a little too much right now. I sigh, what am I doing. This wolf has picked on me my whole life. Then my mothers’ words for years ago come back to me. You know if they pick on you it really means that they have feelings for you.

I sigh as I follow them up the steps to the back door of the pack house. All the decorations are in place and ready for when the party starts. Ronin picks me up like a bag of potatoes as I scream as my dad and Caleb are laughing at us. “I missed you my leech…. I’m so happy I’m back to torment you!” I start hitting his legs. “Put me down you overgrown snake!” I yell “Put me down, now.” I hear laughter coming from the stairs as I see an upside-down Alpha descending the steps. Finally, Ronin puts me down and I stand blushing to the roots of my hair. “Nice to see everyone. Son, I missed you.” The Alpha says as he brings his son in for a real hug. Not one of those men hugs but a real hug and it takes a couple of moments for them to let go. “Did you enjoy college?” Alpha asks Caleb. I see him blushing as he nods his head and Ronin crakes up laughing. I watch as Caleb sends him, and evil glare and Ronin straitens up wiping the tears from is eyes.

The Alpha looks around the room. “Well, I have something important to talk to you all about. Would you like to do that now or wait until the morning?” I notice my dad look at me with a blush on his face. Hmmmm, I wonder what is going on. I have never seen my dad blush before. He has always been a big grumpy bear my whole life. Except for when he is with us at home then he is just a loving big grumpy bear. I frown at him hearing Caleb saying. “Let’s do it now and get it over with.” The Alpha nods his head and looks at my dad. “Beta Miles go ahead and call your wife. She will want to hear this.” I really frown as I look at my dad as he mind links my mom. I was getting ready to walk out the front of the pack house when Alpha calls me back. “Ellie, you need to come to as it pertains to you.” I feel the blood drain from my face as I turn back around and look at my dad. Trying to figure out what in the hell is going on.

I watch as my mother runs into the pack house red faced and looking around at everyone. “Well, now that everyone is here. Let’s head up to my office and have a nice chat.” I follow my mom and dad up the stairs as Ronin and Caleb are walking behind me. For some reason I can feel Caleb staring at my butt which makes me walk faster. We reach the door and everyone including Ronin enter before me. As I stop outside of the door Caleb comes closer to me and leans in making me stiffen my back. “A little payback for staring at my goods earlier. I hope your view was as good as mine.” He whispers before I can pull back. My mouth is wide open, and I just know my neck and face are bright red. My mom turns to me. “Oh, my goodness, Ellie are you okay?” My mom asks. I only have the energy to close my mouth and nod my head enter the room and closing the door. I sit down in between my father and brother while Caleb standing to his father’s right-hand side behind the Alpha’s desk. “I have a surprise for you boys. Something amazing has happened this year while you were gone. As a matter of fact, it happened yesterday.” I feel myself wanting the couch to swallow me up as I think I know where this is going.

“We had an Alpha present last night at the ranking ceremony.” I see the shock on Ronin’s face as I hear Caleb’s quick inhale of breath. I stay quiet as my parents did. I don’t know what in the world is going on or why we are in here. “Who was it?” Caleb asks his father and I feel my dad fidget in his seat. I glance at him when I hear the last thing, I thought I would ever hear. “Your soon to be wife and your equal, Ellie.”
