Relief was what I felt, we had finally come across our first civilized pack, in a month. When the alpha offered us rooms in his pack house I was elated. I could finally bathe in warm water and use legitimate products to clean.
But the pack was on tenterhooks, the rogues were in the country and had recently attacked a nearby pack and they feared they would be next.
Some of the invaded pack’s elder members had taken refuge in this pack while renovations to their pack were being completed. They told us of the horrific attack that had occurred as most of the pack were sleeping. It was a surprise to us all, that there were not more casualties that night.
