Liliech stared at the person who had just spoken, it was a man. An average man if she must evaluate, he had a good height enough to make a good wolf transformation, he had a slender body but his biceps were good, he even had long legs and Liliech could even visualize his six or even eight pack abs if she could exaggerate. That was the part she always loved when dissecting a wolf after all.
But she snapped back when the man met her eyes, “Lilia.” the man called, “How are you feeling?” his steps were slow but it was stable that Liliech can’t help but not lose her direct contact with his eyes.
It was pure brown giving the accent of its pure black iris, even the steep below his eyebrows was enough to make a shadow around his eyes, making him look sophisticated. She gulped, she only caught some ugly werewolves and didn’t have the fun of ripping their faces off but it would be fun if they all looked like this guy.
“You’ve lost consciousness for about two weeks. We found you at the western shore after several days and nights of searching,” he continued, “The pack is waiting for you.”
Now, the old lady named Granny Beth had her eyes turned into silver making her look vicious in such age, “How dare they even think that I would return my granddaughter to that boorish pack?! From what they had done they even dared to wait for her?!” she snorted in anger, “Over my dead body, no one can harm my granddaughter again.”
The man spoke again, “But Lady Beth, Lilia was the pack’s Luna. Even if he liked it or not, she cannot leave.”
The old lady despite her age growled in anger, “I don’t want to discuss this matter anymore Lerio. Let Lilia recuperate for a while, I’m sure she is still confused and in pain.”
Liliech was quietly listening to their conversation but this Luna that they must be talking about was her.
She was a Luna?
Since when?!
She stared at her hands, it was fairly tanned and clean even the slender fingers were moving in good condition but as far as she knew, she can’t growl and didn’t fear the full moon. Just what on earth had happened?! Did she miss something living half a century of her life?! Is this the turning point of her pitiful living?!
But she flinched when the old lady covered her hand with her own, saying in full of sympathy, “No one can hurt you again my dear. Rest for a while and regain your strength, we all had the necessities you needed here, don’t hesitate to call me.”
Seeing that she was still in a daze, Granny Beth just smiled faintly, “I’ll have Lerio accompany you here.” she said and left together with other older people who were giving a look of sympathy to Liliech but didn’t dare to get near her.
But Liliech wasn’t settled, she was confused if she got in another dimension or this is a phenomenon that the books called reincarnation. She blurted, “Honorable ladies, can I take a look outside? Just a second.”
Everyone stopped when they heard her speak, in a very unusual tone. Their head abruptly turned towards her direction even Lerio gave a confused expression as if it was his first time hearing her speak but they still didn’t know something was off on her. Even though they felt it, they couldn’t point it. And there was something strange the moment she woke up.
She wasn’t calling that person’s name.
Granny Beth was the most considerate in the group and smiled immediately, “Your body is still weak my dear, our healer had a hard time healing your injuries and some of them aren’t completely healed. I’m afraid you can’t get off the bed right at this moment. But you can, a few days.”
“But I’m fine.”Liliech insisted as she got off from the bed and stood. She was currently wearing a long dress that covers her body from to bottom.
She spread her legs and did some warm-up to prove that she was completely fine. “See? I can event hunt some bunnies right on this moment—oh right, it’s the start of spring, I’m sure some tasty bred had hopped on the field. Those with chubby bellies had the juiciest flesh.” the latter sentence became a murmur as she imagined those rabbits she always hunt during this fresh weather.
Everyone was silent as they stared at each other but once again, it was Granny Beth who broke the awkward atmosphere, “Lilia, the spring will stay for months, I’m sure you’ll be okay by then.”
But Liliech wasn’t used to being ordered around and took steps forward, the elders were surprised and immediately went away from her, refusing to stop her. Granny Beth was the last obstacle, she refused to walk away from her position as she frowned at this sudden behavior of her beloved granddaughter, “Lilia, what happened to you?” her tone wasn’t gentle anymore but Lilia ignored her and went past by her as she ran through the door.
She didn’t even waste the time to turn back her head.
Granny Beth was momentarily stunned by this strange treatment she got from Lilia and immediately turned to Lerio, “Get her back immediately!”
Lerio immediately gave a polite gesture before chasing her.
But Liliech was already at the entrance when she finally realized that she was in a cabin, all made of woods and big enough to have some old people to take care of. It was located by the hills near the valley and by the distance, she could see the faint shadows of the North Mountains.
She was awed, she never got out from the woods for almost two decades and didn’t feel the cold breeze on the higher land. Since the moment she became a target of everyone she hid well enough on that wood that immediately cut her off from this kind of scenery. Her white dress was swaying by the wind and she remained in her position, letting the strands of hair dance in the wind but she suddenly felt cold under her feet.
She looked down and saw a clear puddle on the ground and in the reflection, she saw a person.
Her eyes widened and sat as she leaned closer on the puddle.
Who the hell is this?!
Golden hair with round, clear eyes. Her face was small but beautiful even the honey-colored eyes looked attractive at any angle. But the witch almost fainted, she was seeing her reflection. No matter how she aged and lost proper hygiene, she knew herself. She wasn’t this person!
