Kira felt the chair beneath him, once more confirming all that he was seeing was real. “Can I really eat this?” He asked while turning to the Demon.
“Of course, I made it for you after all.” The Demon said with a lovely smile on his face, something about the man felt so warm, so trustworthy, so kind. Whenever Kira looked at him he struggled to explain why he felt fear in the first place, given just how gentle the man in front of him was to him.
Without waiting for another invitation Kira began eating. At first it was slow but then he started going faster, tasting food again, especially food as delicious as that made him genuinely happy.
“Now that you’ve eaten…” The Demon said with a smile after Kira had finished as much food as he could man
