Chapter 12: Magnum Shares Some MeatDinner passes in a heavy silence. Although the steaks that Pam and Willa prepared are delicious, as are the baked potatoes and endive salads, no one seems to be talking. Pam enjoys the company of her wine more so than her family; no surprise. Bill, as usual, doesn’t show for dinner; in fact, he hasn’t been seen for half the day. Jake refuses to sit with his sister at the dining room table, still upset with her because she hasn’t forgiven him for calling her a w***e because she allows Magnum McCall into her marriage to boff Bobo; he takes his dinner plate to the basement to dine alone. Soozie Butterfly follows Jake to the basement, clicking her heels behind him; his faithful lover. And the s*x scene among Bobo, Magnum, Sandy, and Jonah is still quite fresh
