Chapter 6: Awkward

1126 Words
Audrey’s POV The walk back towards the main road was awkward. Neither of us had said anything leaving an uncomfortable silence between us. His car was parked at the edge of the forest but I stopped in front of it not getting it. “What are you doing” he asked after he realized I had stopped. “I’m not going back with you. I won’t be bullied into mating you and I’ve heard that’s not an option to your father. I’m not property and I won’t be treated as such” I bit out making him sigh. “I’m not my father. If you don’t want me then fine but at least let me give you a ride home” he offered making me pause for a second before nodding and getting in the passenger seat. “Jordan?” I called making him glance over at me from the driver seat. “Wanna put on some pants?” I asked a small smile on my lips. “Oh s**t yeah” he mumbled leaning over to the back seat making me gasp and turn away from him. “What I’m not shy” he smirked making me scoff. “Whatever” I laughed looking out the window until he got himself ‘situated’. “You hungry?” He asked making me glance over at him staring for a second before nodding. “Yeah, any ideas?” I questioned pulling the level on the side of my seat so I could lay back. “Yes but it’s a couple hours away you could sleep if you’d like” he answered pulling off from the side of the road. “Sounds good” I replied closing my eyes and falling asleep easily. The sky was dim and the lake in front of me was still. I sighed staring at the lake. It's been about a month since me and Ian broke up and I'm still upset. As I sat in silence I heard a snap from a couple yards away. Shooting up I turned around looking into the now dark forest. I couldn't see anything but I could hear multiple footsteps coming towards me. "Hello?" my voice wavered and only silence followed. I waited a couple seconds until a growl made my eyes widen. I turned in circles seeing six wolves surrounding me they walked around me my body shaking in fear. A scream pushed through my throat as they all crouched down to pounce and- I jolted up with a scream making Jordan’s head snap over to mine as he instantly pulled off the road. "Hey princess it's okay, calm down your fine" he rushed grabbing my hand as I breathed heavily. Suddenly I couldn’t concentrate on anything but the sparks that flew through my hand as he ran his thumb back and forth against it. “Are you okay” he whispered my eyes shifting to him. “Um” I cleared my throat moving the seat back up to meet my back in my sitting position. “Yeah I’m fine, I have dreams of that night, not often, not for a while” I answered catching my breath. You feel safe with him. Who said that? Eva always has an option. You calmed down in minutes you mother used to take an hour, you can't deny it Audrey I cut her off not wanting to listen to her nonsense any longer. “You can drive now” I whispered turning towards the window and pulling my hand slowly from his. He stared at me for a second before pulling back onto the freeway. We arrived at a small Italian restaurant 20 minutes later and had an awkward lunch there before heading back out in the road towards home. He pulled up alongside my house and I decided to break the silence first. “What are you gonna do about your dad?“ I asked looking over at him. “I don’t know, but I’m an adult now and you, you’re a person he has no right to force things” he answered glancing over at me. My face softened a bit and a small smile played at my lips. “I’ll see you” I spoke softly leaning over the center console to kiss his cheek briefly before hopping out of the car. Stopping briefly before walking into house stopping suddenly as a bucket of something slimy fell on my head. "Boys" I screamed whipping the green slim from my eyes. "Oh s**t that wasn't meant for you" Brandon said holding back his laughter as Blake laughed hard. "What the hell did you just say" my mother voice rang through the house as she walked out from the kitchen glaring at Brandon. "Um oh pit?" He tried smiling sheepishly. "You boys are cleaning that up and Brandon you can do the dishes for the rest of the week. Cussing in my house who the hell does he think he is" my mother mumbled walking back into the kitchen. Damn what's her mood. I left my bags and stomped up the stairs slapping each of the boys in the back of the head before I went to take a shower. Oh it's so not good to be home. Jordan’s POV I watched her walk up the driveway for a brief moment before heading home. I don’t know how to feel really I understand why she doesn’t want to be with me but I don’t wanna accept it. I paused before walking into my house not wanting to hear my father's rant. I wasn’t even two steps into the door before his voice came from the hallway. “Jordan your home" my father said gruffly "where is she", he walked down the hallway with his hands in his pocket staring at me expectantly. "She's not here. I will NOT tear her away from her life to come here just because I want her to be my Luna she is not property to take she's a person and is entitled to her choice" I spoke. I held my breath worried about his reaction. "Your finally acting like an Alpha son taking your life into your own hands. Your finally ready to be alpha" he looked proud and a look of confusion was no doubt shown on my face. "Get some rest my boy we'll talk tomorrow" he smiled walking out of the room leaving me dumbfounded. Okay?
