Chapter 2

Activity

"W-what?"

He just showed me a smile and shook his head before returning his look in front. I am sure that James and Char heard what Felix said because they are the ones who are seated in front of us while Noah and Nicole are seated on my right side and Emma with one of our classmates is seated in front of them.

I stared at Felix for a while thinking about his words but just let it go later on because I had to listen to the lesson. Maybe I was just overthinking. Of course it wouldn't mean anything.

Our class continued until the second subject for a total of 3 hours before our first 20-minute break started.

"Can I borrow your notes Feli? I think I missed some words from Math class." Em asks as I hand her my Math notebook before she goes back to her seat.

I saw Charlotte and James surrounded Noah and Nicole on my right side while talking about something. I was re-checking my Science notes when I felt Felix left his seat and that's when I suddenly felt a hand on my wrist and dragged me out of my seat.

"I just can't take my eyes off of you?" sabi ni James.

They heard it clearly which explains James repeating Felix words earlier. My forehead creased and let out a deep breath because I know he's overthinking.

"It probably just slipped off his mouth James, don't make a big deal of it please." I defend.

I saw Noah shook his head with a serious face before he opened his drawing pad once again to draw something.

"I don't know Feli. There's something about him, I just can't tell what it is." Char said.

She shut her mouth immediately, , like stopping herself from saying more, while looking behind me.

She signaled me to look behind as my forehead creased once again before looking back to see Felix with a smile. "Can you accompany me? I need to ask something from our adviser."

I nod before looking at my friends again who are just looking at me except James who is looking at Felix in a blank expression and Noah who is still busy with his drawing pad. "I'll come back in a few."

I stood up before Felix and I made our way out of the classroom. We were silently walking when I suddenly felt an arm over my shoulder which almost made me jump a bit.

"I'll come." A guy who owned a not-so-low voice said.

I look at Noah who is now staring at Felix with a serious face. I turn to Felix only to see him smirking like he just accomplished something.

"U-uhm... let's go then." I said.

The three of us continued walking with Noah making sure there's enough distance between me and Felix which I find it really weird. Or maybe his over protective side is on it again.

"This is the teacher's room, you just need to knock before going in." I pointed to the door before Felix nodded and looked at me before turning to Noah.

"I'm sure you can handle yourself here, we'll go back to our classroom now." Noah stated.

Noah's about to drag me by my wrist when Felix suddenly held my other wrist. "Dude, you clearly heard what our adviser said earlier right?"

I saw how Noah's jaw clenched. He looked at me before returning his eyes to Felix and left suddenly. "Noah!"

He keeps walking without looking back at us. I look at Felix's hands on my wrist before looking at his eyes. He still hasn't let go.

"You shouldn't have said that. He was just accompanying me." I complained calmly.

He let my wrist go and leaned on the wall with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Is he your boyfriend or what?" he asks.

"He's a friend of mine." I simply answered.

He scoffed as if I said something wrong. I raised my eyebrow because of his reaction. "Friend zone huh."

My forehead creased because of what he said. "He's not... because we really are just friends. He's just overprotective."

I don't know why but I found myself explaining to him. I know there is nothing to explain about my friendship with Noah especially to Felix because he literally just transferred this morning.

"You're dense you know?" sabi niya. "Friends? That's not what I'm seeing."

I don't want to be rude even though I'm just thinking about it but he's meddling too much with the things he shouldn't try to meddle with. I cleared my throat while he was still staring at me. 

"You need to ask something to our adviser right? Go now." I tried to say it softly even-though his action of trying to act like he everything is already getting on my nerves. I tried avoiding his eyes as he nodded before entering the teacher's room, leaving me there.

Charlotte was right when she said there is something about Felix. I don't know if he really just likes to joke around or what but he managed to pissed Noah off which is the first since we met him. Noah is not the type of guy to be pissed off just like that even though there's guys trying to hit on us.

I was preoccupied with my own thoughts that I didn't even notice Felix coming out of the room. I look at him in shock when I realize how close his face is to mine. I gulp as I manage to have some time to explore his facial features through my eyes.

"You okay?" He asks, still keeping that small distance between the two of us.

"Y-yeah... o-of course." I only answered.

I was looking away when he stepped back to give me some space to breath already which I didn't realize that I'm almost not breathing properly already. What kind of effect is this? Weird.

"L-let's go!" I said as he nodded with a small smile.

We walked back to our classroom with some eyes of the students following us like they were thinking something or what. When we arrived in our room, I saw Noah there just staring outside the window with a blank expression.

"Did something happened to Noah?" James immediately ask as soon as I took a seat. "It's just that we're talking to him but he's not even answering us."

I glanced at Noah before looking back at James."I seriously don't know. He just left suddenly."

James glances at Felix who is seated beside me while looking around the room. Felix looked at James and raised his eyebrow while my eyes were switching between the two of them.

"I wonder why..." James only said before looking in front. Felix was almost left dumbfounded before he looked at me.

"It's not really that obvious that you're friends has some hatred over me." he whispered through my ears that made my head tilt a bit because of the tickling feeling I felt when he spoke up.

I looked at him before he looked away from me and plastered a smirk on his face again. The boys around me are seriously acting so weird.

Our next teacher arrived a few minutes before she started with her lecture. I was silently listening to our teacher when Felix suddenly spoke up once again.

"You seemed very serious, Miss Class President." he said.

I ignored it because I have to focus on the lecture.

"All of you seemed very serious. Is that how things goes here Miss Class President?" he said once again.

He continued talking and talking while I tried my best to ignore his words.

"Hey give me some attention. I'm bored." he said while slightly tapping my arm.

I saw Nicole look at me and Felix through my peripheral vision but I ignore it because I know she will ask questions later too anyway.

"Talk to me, I'm getting bored." he whispered as I shook my head before looking at him.

I gave him an annoyed look as he only gave me a smile. "If you don't mind? I'm trying to listen."

He nods and raises his hands slightly like he is surrendering. I turn my eyes in front to listen.

"You look cute when you're annoyed." he said that made Char look back at us while I looked at Felix.

He turned his attention in front while Char gave me a suspicious look. Felix let out a smile while looking in front before I changed my attention to my notes.

Lunch time arrived and I'm annoyed because Felix didn't stop there. He keeps pestering me and talking to me. I know that he doesn't have any friends here yet but I think he's done enough pestering over me today.

"Let's go! Let's eat." Emma said as we all nod before coming out of the room.

"Hi Noah! Will you guys train later?" the girl who approached Noah suddenly asks.

She's from another section, that's what I'm sure of. Noah didn't give her any of his attention and only walked straight which disappoints the girl. We look at Noah who left us before Emma and Charlotte followed him while Nicole, James and I were left here.

"I'm sorry about Noah. He's just not in the mood." I told the girl and gave her an apologetic smile.

"I'll answer on his behalf okay?" James suddenly said before getting closer to the girl putting a small distance between the two of them. "We'll attend the training later, and we really need a beautiful girl watching us there."

I saw how the girl blushed as James gave her a flirty sweet smile before he draped his arms to mine and Nicole's shoulder dragging us out of the scene. I heard the sudden squeal of the girl's friends so I look back to see them almost jumping up and down because of what James said.

"What a flirt." Nicole said.

"I won't let Noah waste the opportunity. A girl already approached her but he ignored it. He seriously needs to let off some steam." James' defense over his action.

"Noah's wasting an opportunity? More like you..." pointing to James' face. "taking away that opportunity."

James chuckled because of what I said. "My mouth can't help it." he shrugs.

We talked a little more about random things until we arrived in the cafeteria. We get our food before going to the table where Emma, Charlotte, and Felix are in.

Emma and Charlotte are obviously talking while Noah is just eating silently beside them. I took a seat in front Noah while James sat next to me with Nicole next to him.

"Dude, we're going to the training later. Those girls will be watching." James pointed to the girls who are seating two tables away from us before he waved at them and smiled.

I nudge him because of what he did because he is really pushing off his flirty side too much. "What?" he asked me before I shook my head.

"I can't. I have to go home early." Noah said.

We all look at him because it's the first time he rejected James idea. He didn't mind our eyes being on him and only ate silently.

"Dude, you'll waste an opportunity to find yourself a girlfriend if you don't attend the training later." James said while Noah's eyes are still looking down in his food.

"I'll find one soon." the only words Noah said.

"Don't waste the chance bro, it's already being held out to you and you just need to grab it. They'll come later, that's already easy."  James said.

"Don't push it Isaac." Noah simply said.

We know it's time to stop pushing him because he already calls out James' second name. He's annoyed.

"Well, if you won’t be attending the training then I won't too! It would be unfair if you'll rest while I'm doing training." James complained before he received a smack in the head by Char.

"Are you crazy?! You're full of energy in flirting with girls but you're becoming lazy over training?!" Charlotte's sermon to James.

They gave James a few more sermons until we finished eating our lunch and walked ourselves back to our room.

"That girl is so lucky. He approached her." we heard from the girl in the hallway.

We look in the direction where the girl and her friends are looking only to see Felix talking to a girl from our class while the girl is fixing her things inside her locker and Felix leaning on his side over the locker. They were laughing as we only stared at them.

Felix's eyes turned to our side and made eye contact with me before I looked away. "Let's go."

We entered the room before sitting down to our assigned seats except Emma who sat on Felix's chair for now.

"I know he's like James and Noah!" Char said, concluding what we just saw.

"Wait! Why are we involved?" James asks before nudging Noah who is sitting beside him in Charlotte's chair.

"You and that Felix has the same personality. You flirt through words!" Emma shoved him their similarities.

I only stayed silent while we were still circled around one another.

"Come on guys! Maybe they are just talking about something school-related." Nicole said, trying to contradict their conclusion.

Charlotte shook his head before looking at me. "Feli can prove that Felix is just like James."

I looked at her confused but she only widened her eyes on me.

"Girl, I literally heard him pestering you while class is ongoing." Charlotte revealed which causes the stares of four of our friends to me.

Noah who is just silently listening suddenly talked. "What did he say Char?"

"Wow dude I didn't know you still know how to talk!" James teases because since Noah told him to not push what he wants in the cafeteria earlier, he didn't talk again.

Noah ignored what James said and only waited for Char's response.

"I heard him say that 'you look cute when you're annoyed'." Char started. "THAT'S THE EXACT LINE JAMES USES TO FLIRT!" Char suddenly shouted that caught the attention of everyone inside the room.

They looked shocked with Char's sudden outburst so I gave them an apologetic smile and mouthed sorry. "Quiet down Char."

"Hey have some sympathy! Don't ruin my name!" James complained.

"FYI, I don't need to shout how flirt you are because everyone knows about it already!" Char said.

We all laugh after that because the two are provoking each other except Noah of course. I think he wasn't really just in the mood.

"Uhm... excuse me?" someone said behind us.

Felix is standing there looking at me before he looks at his seat.

"Our teacher's about to arrive and also my seat..." he said, eyeing his chair.

Emma immediately stands up from Felix's seat before saying sorry and returning to her assigned seat.

A few minutes later, the girl who Felix was talking with earlier approached our seat. "Hey don't forget what I told you."

"Don't worry, I won't!" Felix answered before giving her a wink in which our classmate only rolled her eyes and laughed before returning to her seat.

He changed his attention to me so I looked away and Char suddenly placed a small paper over my desk.

'I told you, he's a flirt!'

I glanced at Felix trying to see if he saw it and luckily he didn't so I hid it immediately and put it inside my bag. Our teacher arrived later on as she started her lecture.

The class resumed for another three hours until the bell rang indicating the dismissal. I was fixing my things while our other classmates were heading out.

"We'll go ahead now guys! We still have a club meeting." Emma said before leaving with Charlotte.

"We'll go home already too." James bid his goodbye but I called him out.

"Aren't you going to train?" I asked but he shook his head.

"Of course not Feli! I'll be with my best friend here relaxing." he answered before putting his arm on Noah's shoulder and left the room. Noah didn't forget to say his goodbye to us though.

"Thanks for accompanying and making my day entertaining Miss Class President." he suddenly said as I nod and only gave him a small smile.

He picked up his bag and suddenly went closer to me before he could even leave. "And your friend's conclusion is not entirely right."

He looks at me and smirks before bidding his goodbye to Nicole and leaves the room officially. Nicole looks dumbfounded because of what Felix did.

"Just what the hell?!"

Our week goes on like that with Noah's mood going back to normal, the six of us spending our after class hanging out last Wednesday in Noah's home, and lastly, Felix still pestering me while I'm just trying to cope up with his stubbornness.

"So who's house are we going later?" Nicole asks as we look at each other.

"Why don't we just go to the mall for today? Aren't you guys getting tired just staying in each of our houses every Wednesday and Friday?" Noah asks which only Char shook her head.

"Mine, Nicole and your house has an entertainment room plus tito's food while James, Emma and Feli's have a pool so yeah I'm not getting tired of it." she answered.

I shook my head only to remember everything that we do every after class and hang out every friday. Even though there are times that we go to the mall during Friday, it's only for a short time then we will go to one house later on too. We don't really spend hours in the mall.

"Let's just go to the mall. I wanna buy something as well." Emma suggests as the girls nod except for the two boys.

"Bro I think I made a wrong suggestion by going to the mall. These girls will be shopping again." Noah said, nudging James.

"And we'll be the helpers of Amelia and Isabelle's shopping bags." James complained also which earned the two guys a glare from Em and Char.

Among the four of us, it's Char and Em who are into clothes so much which explains why they look so fashionable enough for our age.

Our teacher arrived for the last subject so we took a seat properly.

"For the first activity, you will be partnered to two people..." Everyone cheered with the announcement of our teacher. I mean who doesn't love working with another person for an activity.

"And I will pick who will be partnered with who." silence suddenly filled the room as our teacher laughed.

James raised his hand suddenly before our teacher called him out. "Miss, can't we just pick our partners ourselves?"

Our teacher shook her head in response. "You can't Mr. Sanchez. When I let all of you pick your own partners last year, some of you were not able to do the activity properly."

We all sigh as I laugh at James silently complaining. Our teacher explains the activity before announcing that the partners will be random.

"Amelia Emma Buenaventura and James Isaac Sanchez"

Noah laughed while pointing to James as soon as the names of the two were called. Emma glared at James trying to threaten her to do the activity seriously.

"Charlotte Isabelle Garcia and Eleanor Nicolette Jimenez"

Char and Nicole immediately winked at each other with the mention of their names. So there's a big possibility that it will be me and Noah who will be partnered up for this activity.

"Aiden Noah Castro and Kurt Lopez"

I looked at Noah as he only shook his head and smiled before giving Emma's seat-mate a high five.

"Felicity Amora Martinez and Felix Charlie Alcantara"

All eyes turned to me and Felix when our names were mentioned. I heard our female classmates whispering things because for sure they want Felix to be their partner.

"So we're partners?" Felix asks as I nod.

He smirked and whispered to himself but I can hear it clear.

"Just like the way I want it to be."
