The man came into the elevator and smiled at Catherine, "Thank you."
Catherine smiled and shook her head, "It's my pleasure."
After that, she took a step back and drew some distance from him.
The man noticed her action. He knew Catherine didn't want to have further communication, so he didn't continue to speak.
When the elevator reached the floor of the Department of Cardiology, Catherine slightly nodded to the man and quietly walked out of the elevator.
The man raised his eyebrow. He did not expect that Catherine would go on the same floor as him. As he went out of the elevator, he found Catherine was gone.
The man talked to a nurse at the nurses' workstation and went to his destination.
When Catherine went back, the nurses at the workstation gossiped heatedly, "That man is really handsome. If I can meet such a handsome man in my life, I will definitely marry him."
"But he is not interested in you."
"Room 1803. Is it the ward of Ryan?" A nurse asked curiously, "Do you think he has something to do with Ryan?"
"Ryan looks like him. Do you think he is Ryan's father?" Another nurse wondered.
"I think it's possible."
Catherine slowly got close to the nurses' workstation and knocked twice at the desk, "Working time."
The nurses were talking happily, and they were frightened by the sudden voice. They could not help but grumble, "You scared us, Dr. Winston."
Catherine usually had a good relationship with the nurses. As long as it was not something related to the work, they were not afraid of Catherine.
Catherine shook her head thoughtfully, "It's really a problem that you can't focus on your work when you see someone handsome."
"Dr. Winston!" A nurse glared.
Catherine did not continue to make fun of them but smoothed her clothes, "How is Ryan today?"
She didn't come to the hospital all day today, and she didn't know how Ryan was.
"He is fine and he is looking for you today. When he heard that you are on the night shift, he turned obedient." When it came to working, the nurses stopped kidding.
"All right, get ready. Come with me." Catherine nodded as if she didn't put it in her mind.
The nurse who was ordered went to get ready hurriedly.
Although it's easy to get along with Catherine, everyone knew that Dr. Winston was very strict.
After going back to the office, Catherine heard a knock on the door. It should be the nurse who was ready. With the required information and stethoscope, she went out.
After checking the patients one by one, Catherine came to Room 1803, knocking at the door symbolically and pushing the door in, "Sorry, it's routine inspection."
Catherine saw the man before she got in.
Catherine frowned and she did not expect to see him again.
The man was surprised when Catherine came in, "You are..."
"Dad, this is my attending doctor. Dr. Winston, this is my father, Andrew Williams." Ryan calmly explained, staring at Catherine, "You know each other?"
"I saw him in the elevator." Catherine slightly nodded to Andrew, "Mr. Williams."
Andrew still smiled genially as if the surprise did not exist, "Thank you for taking care of Ryan these days, Dr. Winston."
"It's my job." Catherine went to the bedside, "Let's do the routine check first."
The nurses behind looked at them without a word. The handsome man was really Ryan's father. It seemed that the hope of the nurses was to be dashed.
The examination showed no special circumstances. Catherine told the results to the nurse, but she found there was no response, so she turned around to take a glance at the nurse.
Then the nurse came to herself, "Ah, sorry, Dr. Winston."
Catherine looked at her helplessly and took the recording book in her hand.
"I'll go out first and have a good night." Catherine smiled at Ryan, nodded, and took the nurse out.
Ryan has been lonely these days in the hospital, but Catherine felt that Andrew should not be the kind of person who abandoned his son.
Catherine did not care much about this matter. There was a night shift waiting for her. It was better to save her energy in case there would be sudden emergencies.
Catherine went back to the office and looked at the nurse who followed her silently, "Are you going to follow me all night?"
The nurse repeatedly shook her head, "No. Sorry, Dr. Winston. I was distracted."
"All right, go back first. Call me if someone rings the bell later." Catherine tittered. There was nothing different between handsome men and ordinary men in her mind.
Catherine didn't feel what the nurse felt. She was bored with Leonard and she was immune to this kind of handsome man while others were not.
After a sigh of relief, Catherine returned to her seat and began her work seriously.
There was a knock at the door, pulling Catherine's thoughts out of work.
"Come in." Catherine put down the pen in her hand, habitually pinching her eyebrow.
The door of the office was slowly pushed open, and then Catherine saw Andrew's smiling face, "Mr. Williams, what's wrong?"
Andrew closed the door, "I come here to know more about my son's disease."
In fact, Andrew was completely forced to come here by Ryan, who wanted him to have more communication with Catherine.
Catherine nodded and pointed to the opposite chair, "Have a seat."
"I've been busy with the company abroad. I want to thank you for taking care of Ryan. Did he cause trouble?" Andrew smiled and said.
Catherine could understand him, "No, he is a good boy."
She was used to it because Leonard hadn't gone home for several days for work when they had been together.
"You are the only one who pays him a compliment. We've had multiple nannies at home, but there is no one saying he is a good boy. He only listens to your words." Andrew said earnestly.
