DENI’S POV The Earl called his girls together. “The Alpha is here.” He said. The girls began to prance and were shaking. “He is here already?!” Elena said in considerable shock. “You had said tomorrow.” “I said today or tomorrow.” He said. “It doesn’t matter.” Elena said. “But it was you who did not tell us this. This has still come to us as shock.” Lana started crying. “I do not want to leave England Papa.” She said. Deni rolled her eyes. If care was not taken, all her sisters were going to start crying one after the other. “You all have to be on your best behaviour.” The Earl said as he turned to leave. “I would send for you when he is ready.” And with that he left them. Genevieve fell on the bed with a plop. “My life is ruined.” Genevieve said. “Your Life is ruined?” Lana asked. “What about mine?” “How about me? I am in love with the Duke of Harcourt.” Jade said. “It is him I want to marry” “You want to marry me the Duke of Harcourt does he even know you?” Elena asked Lana. “He does not yet. But very soon he would.” Jade argued. “Well you would not be seeing or marrying him if you are living in some caves in Scotland.” Genevieve snapped at her. “How on earth do you know that they live in caves in Scotland?” Deni asked. “O Scholar tell us the truth then.” Jade said rudely. “You forget your place Jade.” Deni warned and Jade remained quiet. They were silent for a while and then Elena started to cry. There was a knock at their door. “Come in.” Deni said. One of the staff in the house opened it. “Your father sends for all of you.” He said. Elena started crying again. Deni walked up to her. “You do really need to stop crying. It is very much unpleasant.” “But what can I do?” Elena said as Deni cleaned her tears with a napkin. Elena was older that Deni. In fact, both Genevieve and Elena were older than Deni, but Deni behaved like the older. She was the one who always led them ahead. She knew that without her, her sisters would be ruined. As they went out, the staff who had come to call them stopped Deni. “Louis said there is something wrong with Angel.” He said. “Oh I see.” She said. She gathered her skirts. “Then I would be down with the right now.” To hell with the Scottish men. Angel mattered more than anything. When she reached the stables she heard Angel struggling. “Is she alright?” She asked the stables boy. He shook his head. “She has been acting more uhmmm errr disturbed than usual.” He couldn’t say she was acting wild because he knew that Deni hated it when people referred to Angel as a wild horse. Deni walked to the horse. “Easy Girl.” She said calmy. “Easy Angel.” Angel instantly became calm. She stopped prancing and neighing loudly. She became very calm. Then she turned and took notes of the new horses in the corner. “Where did those come from?” She asked. He looked at them. “It was the new visitors.” He said. Deni looked up at Angel. Now she could understand why Angel was frightened. The Stallion was too close to her and she was scared. “It is the Stallion.” Deni said to Louis. She took Deni out of her stable and handed her reigns over to Louis. “Take her far away from him.” Deni said. “She is not used to him and that is why he is frightening her.” Louis collected the reigns and went to get a new side for Angel. Then Deni realised that they were probably waiting for her by now. She gathered her skirts and ran back into the house. “Sorry Papa.” Deni apologised as soon as she had gotten into the room. She excused the maid passing by and went and stood beside her sisters. She looked up and saw the same man. Her face became grim when she saw him. She looked around for a moment. There was no new man. It was the same men that she had seen no additions, no subtractions. And then it dawned on her this was the leader. She saw her father give her a sharp look and then she kept her eyes downcast. “And Deni.” Papa said. “Welcome Alpha Alaric.” They all curtsied and remained where they were. “Raise you heads.” She Heard him command. She gritted her teeth in irritation, but she did. Then he assessed them like they were sheep to be bought. Well technically, they were being sold. “Come.” He said. Deni watched as Genevieve left and went to him. He assessed her up and down and then looked all around her. Then he dismissed her and called for Elena. He did the same for all of them and when he got to her he called out to her in a more different tone. “Come here.” He had said. She held herself and went to him. He looked at her. All over. She knew that he was scrutinising her more than he had for her sisters. She felt like he was seeing through her dress. She blushed in rage as she realised that he was looking down at her breasts. After a while, he said. “Go.” He said it with such dismissal. Even a slave would have shivered at that. Deni angrily left and stood with her sisters. “I’ve made my decision.” He said. Elena and Jade began to cry. “We don’t want to go papa.” Jade said. “Good Heavens.” Their father said. Deni looked. She saw how much her sisters were trembling. How scared they were. They would not survive if he picked one of them. Then she realised that he did not like her. Frankly, he was irritated by her. And then an idea came to her head. “Take me.” She said shocking everyone.
