Chapter 15

Leo POV

“You sure about this?” I ask and she nods readying for the jump

“Fine, pull that one, if something goes wrong use this one” I say tugging at the strap

“Got it” she says

“I’m right here, just follow my lead” I say and signal for the others and then I step off the ramp. Flying through the air, free falling toward the ground. I tap her shoulder and she yanks the strap, the parachute jerking us upward as it open and I feel the vibrations of her screams through me. I glide us down and when we land she’s as happy as I’ve ever seen her

“Oh my god! Mi todo! You have to try that!” she squeals but my dad just shakes his head

“No I’m fine on the ground thank you” he says but she runs up to him the moment I release her

“No seriously Belmont, that was exhilarating!” she says and he looks at her then at me

“If the goddess wanted me to fly, she would’ve given me wings Amore” he says and she laughs hugging him

“I want to do that again! Come on!” she says but I stop her

“Mom, we need to be discreet remember?” I say and her face falls

“Okay fine, but I’m jumping out of a plane tomorrow night” she says fist pumping the air and high fiving the other Elites

“Never took her for an adrenaline junkie” my dad says chuckling I just fold the chute back up quietly

“Leo” he says and I sigh

“Yes dad” I say not looking up

“We’ll get her, she’s still alive. Can’t you feel her life force growing stronger?” he asks and I stop closing my eyes

“I just feel pain dad, it’s all I’ve been feeling for the past few weeks. I let her down dad, I let my baby girl down” I say and he places his hand on my shoulder

“No son, you’re not looking at this from the right perspective” he says and I look into his eyes

“She’s strong and courageous, like you. She’s kind and caring like her mother. She’s refusing to give up, that’s a family trait, you didn’t let her down, you gave her all this to make sure she has what she needs to survive” he says and I look down, the tears burning my eyes

“I keep seeing her lying in that bed, dying. I can’t do this again dad, I won’t survive it” I whisper and then I feel my mother’s arms wrap around my shoulders

“You’re not alone my love, like with both of my sons that went missing we’re all here. You have Callan too honey, we’re family Leo, and you’re not alone in that world anymore. It’s time to move on honey” she coos in my ear and I let the tears fall

“Goddess it hurts mom. I’m so scared, I need to be strong I know, for Callan and for her but I feel like breaking. My baby girl is in the clutches of a tyrant, how did I let this happen?” I choke out. My parents sit with me as I cry silently, bent over because the pain in my chest is heavy, it feels like the night they told me Callan died

“Then you cry, you were there for me, now let us be here for you” my mom says and I nod sobs escaping my throat, one, two, five.

“f**k this” I sob out, then I feel her presence and glance up. Tears running down her face and she opens her arms, I lay my head on her lap and we cry together, everyone else seem to have left

“It hurts baby” she sobs out and I nod

“I know Spitfire, I know” I say gripping her shirt with my one hand, my other hand holding my mom’s

“I’m petrified. I’ve been scared before in my life, plenty of times but this is a fear that consumes you, eats you up inside” I say and my mom hums

“We know brother, that’s why we’re here. Not just to rescue Fallon, but to help you” Cayden says and I sit up wiping my face

“Sorry” I say but my dad scowls at me

“Son, I don’t know where you got the idea from that you are not allowed to show emotion but never apologize for your feelings” he says and I chuckle

“I was always the one consoling, I never really put any thought into my own feelings” I answer honestly and my mom wraps her arms around my neck squeezing me tightly

“You’re a great man Leo, I have only been this proud of you once before, I thought I’d never be prouder but I stand corrected. Cayden” she says and he kneels down next to her, she pulls back looking at both of us

“You two are my pride, my joy and my light. I love all my children equally, but the men you became, through your own weird ways makes me proud to be your mother. I know this pain my beautiful boy, I know the fear my dearest Callan, but you two helped me through it. Belmont is my rock but you are my fortress my lovely boys. Look at the wonderful women and children you were blessed with, we are nothing without family. I am nothing without any of you” she says and I wrap my arms around her and hug her tightly

“Thank you for being our mom, for giving us the courage to keep going” I sit back and hug my dad “Thank you for always being there no matter what, we’re lucky to have you as our dad” I say and he hugs me back. What a mushy, touchy-feely moment, but I need this.

“I have your backs” I say sitting back and pulling my wife to my side before standing, the rest of the family joins and I look at each of them

“Vires in unitatis!” I yell and the ground starts trembling as they repeat the war cry. So I yell again, in my drill sergeant/Alpha voice, the other soldiers gathering around, even the Feared one steps up

“Vires in unitatis!” I yell again and the earth feels like it’s moving under our feet. Our eyes start glowing bright gold, the other creatures shift stomping their feet and then he screams

“OORAH!” Ace yells and we yell back

“Together!” I yell and they respond, the Feared one’s eyes are glowing white, the sheer power radiating off him is amazing, Etienne is trembling with power and I nod for him to step closer

“You will get her out, you will help us?” I ask and he nods

“You, all of you are our family. The Lycan realm will not fail Fallon!” I yell and then it happens, the sky crackles with electricity, Hades and Ares are floating, lightning swirling around them, Athena’s sword is held high, glowing with power, the Amazons horses are stomping the ground with their hooves and I know that we’re not going tomorrow, we’re going now

“Cal” I look down and she gives me her mischievous smile

“Let’s go get our daughter” she says and they all cheer

“It’s time, the last war, the last time anyone will dare stand up against us. This ends now!” Cayden yells in his king voice and we all scream in support

“Be safe, I love you” she says and I kiss her fiercely

“Always” I say and she pulls me in for another kiss

“Forever” she says and darts away, the Elites hot on her heels, the rest scamper off readying for battle and Dimitri appears next to me

“I am honored to serve with you, your highness” he says bowing and I salute him

“The honor is mine general” I say formally and he smiles

“Let’s go kill some assholes” he says and we get our stuff, although he’s still in the Elites he will be leading the ground forces with me, my dad and Cayden together with Kit will take the North, myself and the Pauci Electi the West and Dimitri the East. The Amazons will take to the skies with Callan, and Hades and Ares the South. They don’t stand a chance. I shift and glance up, a shadow moves through the trees at blinding speed and I smile, he is good. No wonder he is so feared. We run and then split up

“Don’t any of you dare die, the healers are only able to help that much” Cayden’s voice booms in our heads and Ryker yaps

“Yes my king” he replies and I roll my eyes

“Suck up” I say and he yaps again

“I want my pup, shut up” he says and I focus at the task ahead. As we near their territory I start feeling her life force, she’s okay. We’ve been here for almost 2 weeks, the plans are good, but anything can go wrong. As we breach their border I hear the first screams

“It’s an attack!” one yells and Ryker growls happily

“Yes, it is. Hello boys” he says and jumps in the air, clearing the first line of defense with ease, then I see an unknown wolf do the same, when he lands I nod at him

“Etienne” I link him and he yaps

“Thought I’d fight with the best” he says and I nod

“Not the best, she’s up there” I say and he glances up

“Athena?” he asks and I chuckle

“No, my mom. Come on, we have people to save” I say and dart toward the castle. Our paws beating down on the soil, thunderous beats and I glance around. Ace is still keeping up with his grandson next to him. Good, the boy finally got his s**t together

“Left” I nod to Etienne and he breaks away with half the squadron

“Hades!” I yell through the link and then there’s lighting striking all around us, I glance up and see the plane turn. They jump out and the Amazons flank them as they descend. This is awesome!

“Good work Spitfire”

“Thanks babe, now heads up I have new toys” she squeals in my head before the plane dives firing at the advancing enemy forces, mowing them down in waves

“Goddess baby that’s sexy” I chime

“Fight now honey, play later” she growls playfully and I bite down on my first victim, ripping him in two. Another body drops to my left and I only see the shadow move forward. He’s supposed to be with Hades. I think running head first into battle.

“This is a rush!” Ace yells laughing while tearing another one’s head off

“What is the ground made of?” I yell and multiple answers comes from all sides

“Blood sir!” they answer and we clash with a wall of soldiers. We fight for dear life, weapons clashing, growling and screaming echo into the night, the sky filling up with smoke and dust, the smell of blood and fear filling my nostrils

“Remember Stefan’s spikes are poisonous” a voice as dark and chilling as the pits of hell floats past our ears and I open the link

“Stefan’s spikes are poisonous, don’t let it get you” I say and they all acknowledge it, soon the castle comes into view and I can’t help but fight harder

“We’re surrounded, retreat!” I hear one yell and signal for Ares

“Now!” I yell and he sends hundreds of fireballs flying toward the entrance. They yell in agony as the fire consumes them then I see the shadow scale the walls through the thick smoke

“He’s going in, cover his rear!” I yell and Ace breaks away meeting up with the undead as they fight to keep the enemy from getting back into the castle

“Dad, advance!” I command and then it’s chaos. They jump through the fire, teeth bared, claws at the ready and Duke takes down two at a time. I hear a whistling and duck as an arrow strikes the one soldier between the eyes and Etienne whips his head around

“Now the real fight starts” I say smiling as my mom and the Elites together with the Amazons ride up behind us

“Oh wow” he says as they gracefully mow down the enemy. My mom stands up behind my grandma and pushes herself off the horse, seeming to be in slow motion she trains her bow and smiles while letting the arrows fly, hitting two targets, landing beside me with a massive smile

“This feels amazing!” she yells and shoots again

“Come on” I say chuckling but Etienne is in awe

“Yo, we need to move!” I yell pulling him with me

“So-sorry” he says and bursts into a sprint

“She’s amazing” he says as we run toward the burning building

“I know right?” I yell back and shift, jumping over the flames I smell the hair on Ryker’s stomach as it scorches but we land on the other side

“Like we planned, Etienne this is your moment son” I look at him and he nods

“Elites, Electi go right, undead to the left the rest with us” Dimitri says and we run, Etienne is in front, I glance up and see the plane circle again diving and opening fire, creating a path for us

“I’m am going to use this later, I really, really want to do all kinds of fun things to you” I say through the link and she laughs

“Would it be completely inappropriate to tell you how unbelievably horny I am now?” she says laughing

“Would it be inappropriate to tell you I would love to join the mile high club?”

“No, stop please. I need to concentrate” she says and I chuckle

“See you on the other side Spitfire. I love you”

“See you, give them hell Sergeant. Love you more” she says and pulls up into the clouds. Duke, Nima and Raza flank me, my mom, Dimitri, Etienne and Aunt Val flank them and I nod

“Give them hell!” I scream and we charge, head first into what might be our death but I don’t care, I promised her I’d fight wars for her. We’re coming baby girl

Fallon POV

I wake up to light shudders, it feels like a slight earthquake. I sit up and hold my breath, another one, and another. Then the light fills the dungeon and the two guards comes running up

“Princess!” they yell running toward me

“Princess!” they yell again

“What? What?” I ask as they skid to a stop fumbling with the keys

“They’re here, it’s amazing!” the one says and unlocks the door swinging it open. The moment I step out I rip off their masks. Oh goddess they’re twins

“There you are” I say smiling and they blush

“We need to get you out, come on!” the one says and grabs my wrist pulling me to the door. We run down to the door and ascend the steps two at a time, when we reach the top I stop

“Princess” his voice weak and I pull his mask off, looking into the face of my tormentor, he’s an older man, his face riddled with scars but he shoves me down the hall toward my old room

“Hey!” I exclaim

“No time, run!” he demands. I swing the door open and there they are, all the staff huddled inside. The two girls grab me pulling me in for a hug

“Oh thank the goddess!” they exclaim before I’m pulled away

“Here, you’ll need this” Katya’s mom says handing me the dress and the belt I got for my birthday. They shield me from the guards and I dress quickly, strapping on the belt

“Here” he says handing me his sword

“No, you need that” I say but he smiles, a lopsided smile and kiss my head

“You saved me, let me do this for you” he says sliding the sword into the scabbard and stepping back, I grab his hand and pull him in for a hug

“If we survive this, I will give you sanctuary” I whisper and he nods stepping back. We move to the hallway and I gasp looking up. Guards fill the space to the brim

“Are you with me or against me?” I command and they just look at me

“Well? Choose your hard men?” I demand, placing my hand on the sword. They all remove their masks and kneel

“We have your majesty! We will die for you!” they say in unison and I step closer

“No one needs to die, protect them and get us the hell out of this shithole!” I yell and they cheer getting up. I hear some gasps and glance back. Oh goddess

“Berserker huh, well let’s see you use that pent up rage for good” I say and he nods charging down the hall. We follow him as he clears the path, some guards join us as we pass, ripping off their masks, drawing their swords and the building shakes violently

“Get them to safety! Go now!” I command and they break away taking the slaves with them

“Princess!” I hear her voice and stop turning

“Be safe my darling” she says kissing my cheek and I nod

“See you outside” I say and dash down into the unknown. He’s mine, he has no idea how bad this will get for him. The guards, my own little army grows as we make our way toward the throne room. I love seeing their faces, finally they are free

“Today this ends!” one yells and they cheer

“Don’t celebrate too soon boys!” I yell and swank to the left as an arrow barely misses me, I glance up and smile

“Berserker stop!” I yell and he skids to a stop, I sprint toward his back and leap off him, pushing my legs hard I fly through the air landing on the neck of the shooter

“Hi, bye” I say and clench my legs shut, swinging down flipping him over. His back hits the floor with a loud THUD and I feel his neck break between my thighs. I jump up and throw two punches into the chest of the man behind him, he topples over gasping for air, but my sword is quick to meet his chest

“Advance!” I hear a faint deep voice and I almost cry. Daddy

“Let’s go!” I yell and they fight, some surrender and join us before we even move to attack, by now we’re almost a hundred men strong. We burst through two heavy doors and are met with hundreds more soldiers

“For the princess!” one yells and they cheer attacking their former comrades, blood stains my face, I hear roars of pain and in the maul I almost kill one of my own

“Sorry!” I yell driving the sword through another enemy

“All good!” he yells and then a glint catches my eye

“Look out!” I yell and dive toward the massive berserker, shoving him out of the way. The arrow lodges in my right shoulder and I yelp in pain, my body slamming hard into the wall

“Get her!” I hear the most atrocious squealing voice and I stand, gripping the tip of the arrow grunting, before breaking it off

“Oh s**t” I breathe out

“Breathe” I hear a kind voice but before I can look he rips the arrow from my shoulder and I cry out

“Aaah! Dammit!” I cry out gripping my shoulder and look back but it’s only the arrow

“I said get her!” her voice reverberates in my skull and I look around, then I see her. Blood red lips, plastered make-up, a dress three sizes too small and long nails, the same red as her lips. She’s pointing at me but the guards seem to be conflicted so I use my Alpha voice

“Choose your hard! Stand with me and we will be victorious, stand with her and face death!” I yell and the fighting dies down, her face now almost as red as her lips and nails

“I order you!” she yells and they look at me

“I ask you, it’s your choice. Choose. Your. Hard” I say stepping in front of my men. They glance back at her and one by one start taking off their masks, revealing their faces and joining our side. Leaving less than half on her side

“You b***h!” she yells and transforms. Oh goddess is that a crocodile? She scales the walls, and I see her tail has spikes on them

“They’re poisonous, look out” a dark, but melodic voice drifts past my ears and I nod

“Check the spikes, attack!” I yell and the place shakes with roars and cheers as we charge the others. I jump in the air, aiming for her head and slice her back open, she roars and loses her grip falling on the ground. He tail whips in my direction and I narrowly escape the razor-sharp spikes dropping to the floor and rolling away

“Die!” she hisses and I smile getting to my feet

“You first” I taunt and she attacks, spikes flying at my head, her snapping jaws echoing around us

“I hate you!” she yells and I laugh jumping in the air

“Not as much as I hate you, scaly!” I yell and land on her back, my arm swinging swiftly to my back, slicing off her tail. She roars in pain but is still fighting. I hold on for dear life as she bucks and snaps to get me off. I glance up and see a chandelier. One, two, three! I push off her and barely make the chandelier and watch her looking around for me

“I got her, get out” the same dark voice hisses and I glance around. Then I see it, a huge shadow moving swiftly down the wall, stalking her

“No, what about you?” I whisper

“I will find you, go now!” he commands and I let go, landing gracefully I look up, he drags her up into the shadows and then her head falls, coming to a stop in front of me. I look up smiling

“Thank you” I say softly and then they grab me and push me toward another set of doors. More guards, more fighting until I hear another faint but familiar voice

“Flank Left Val!” she yells and my heart warms up. I can feel them, faint but they’re there. I’m coming guys!

“Was that?” the two brothers run up to me and I nod

“When we meet them, let me do the talking!” I yell and they nod. We burst through another door and I freeze. Oh goddess, this is bad. The room is packed with heavily armed guards, standing in front of the heavy curtains. I take a deep breath and step forward, speaking as calmly but still using my Alpha voice, I address them

“There has been enough bloodshed here today. Your brethren has chosen to join me, I will give you the same option” I say and they glance at each other

“Choose us and you will be free, choose him and you will die! Choose your hard!” I command and look at them. Each move they make, each breath they take making me more on edge

“They chose me” his voice echoes and I laugh

“They didn’t choose, you forced them. Using fear and tyranny to rule them, that’s not a choice, that’s dictatorship” I say and look at them again

“Choice is yours men, I will not force you, and neither will my family” I say and as if on cue the place shakes with two explosions

“You hear that?” I ask, some nod

“That is the sound of freedom. Freedom of choice, freedom of your souls. That is the sound of unity, that is what love sounds like. So I will give you the choice, it’s yours not his!” I yell pointing to the drapes with my sword. My injury is not making this easy, but I will not show weakness, we’re so close. Then some remove their masks and walk to stand on our side, soon there’s only a third left on his side

“You sure?” I ask and they aim their weapons at us

“Men, if you die today, you die a free man!” I yell and charge at them. Gunfire ring out and we disappear in a cloud of dust, blood and smoke
