CHAPTER 11: WITCH KINGDOM

1524 Words
AUTHOR'S POV "Mate?" Amelia asked. Colton didn't reply, but the look on his face answered "Yes" to the question. At this moment, Amelia now understood the reason why Colton stared at her the way he did and the reason he had not been treating her like a slave, as he had initially said she was. It was not just for any s****l reason - it was the mate pull on him. However, Amelia doesn't have time for love or mating, so even if she happens to be his mate, she would just reject him and leave. Not even a mate pull would make her love him. "Any... problem?" Colton asked hesitatingly. Knowing fully well that she needed him to get the antidote for her, and that making him aware that she doesn't have time to even love him and would never wish to mate with him might make him change his mind about helping her get the antidote, which was the last thing she wanted, she had no choice but to pretend to love him, as she had initially planned. "No, I'm very much okay. I was just a bit surprised... I didn't see that coming... like I didn't expect to hear that. I'm okay with that since you aren't going to eat me too," she lied, stammering and faking a smile. "I would love to mate with you, but first I need the antidote. I need to feel my inner wolf once again," she added. "Yeah, about that. I would get it for you," Colton said, looking up at the wooden clock hanging on the wall of the room. "Oh, it's already 6:30. I think I need to get going for that already." Amelia nodded in agreement and still with a fake smile. "I believe you can take care of yourself when I'm away," he asked, and Amelia nodded again, signifying that she could. Colton left the room, moved to his room, pulled off his clothes, moved to the bathroom, and took a bath. Once done with bathing, he moved to the secret storeroom where he preserved the bodies of werewolves he had killed. He needed some taste of blood and flesh, as the food he ate with Amelia was not his kind of food - he ate with her to appear normal to her. As he entered the room, the intoxicating smells of blood filled his lungs. There were many bodies hanging in the storeroom, with their heads turned down, some slightly touching the floor, and their legs tied up. The room was also illuminated by candles. He shifted to his wolf form and began feasting on one of the bodies. Once done, he licked up his lips, which were covered in blood, and let out a growl. From the window of the room, he flew out, leaving Amelia alone in the house. He flew with high speed, more than you can ever imagine. He flew past the rogue's pack into another pack, continuing to fly to his destination. He was flying very high so that his presence in the pack would not be noticed and to avoid being attacked by them, as they would think he was an intruder. He flew past the pack and into another. He continued flying with more and more speed, flying past so many packs in just a few hours until he got to the witch kingdoms. He had to fly past two witch kingdoms before reaching his main destination. He continued flying until he reached the kingdom he was going to. He flew down to Morgana's house, a witch he had once visited for some reason. It had been a long time since he last came here. He shifted to his human form. It was already night at the moment, and very silent at Morgana's home. Not even the sound of a cricket or any insect could be heard. It was as silent as you could ever imagine, more silent than a pin drop. It was also freezing. He knocked on Morgan's door, but there was no response. He knocked again, still no response. Once again, he knocked and was met with silence as a response. He quietly pushed the wooden door of Morgan's house open, and the creaking sound of the door echoed. He slowly stepped into the house. Inside the house, it was so dark that he could not even see a single thing, so he used his wolf eyes to see. "Hello," he called out, but there was no reply. "Anyone at home?" He added, but still no reply. "Hello," he called out again, his voice vibrating due to the freezing weather, but still no response. He kept going deeper into the house. "Morgana," he called out, and again, no response, his voice just echoed back to him. Colton knew he could not go back home without the potion. He knew Amelia would be disappointed, and he didn't want that. So he must get the antidote before heading home to Amelia, whom he had left alone in his house. "Hello," he called out again, but this time his voice was higher. Once again, silence was all he got as a response. He continued walking in, slowly delving deeper into the house, and suddenly a voice startled him. "What brings you to my house, Colton Reyes?" A loud, echoing voice asked. "I'm here to request a small favor from you," Colton replied, his voice high, not seeing the witch, just hearing her voice. Suddenly, the whole white bulb in the wooden house switched on. Colton saw the old witch, Morgana. She was so old that her grey hair had all fallen out, and not a single hair remained on her head. Only one tooth was remaining in her mouth, just one front tooth. She was supporting herself to stand with a long, hard stick. "Come, sit, my son," she said, sounding muffled and thin, as she had just one single tooth, pointing to an old wooden chair in the center of the room where they were. Her voice sounded different from the first time she spoke. Colton moved to the seat and sat. As soon as he sat, the seat made a cracking sound, like it was about to break, so Colton didn't settle very well on the chair. It was old and might have broken down if he had relaxed on it. "What favor do you want from me, old friend?" Morgana asked. "I found my mate, and the issue is that she was being given a potion that weakened her inner wolf to the point where she could not feel it. I need a potion that can help her inner wolf become active again," Colton explained to her. She didn't say a word to him; she left the room and moved to another room. In the room, there was a large pot containing water. She poured some ingredients into the liquid, and the liquid began boiling, as though it was boiling in fire, even when there was no fire underneath. She began speaking some incantation. The water boiled and boiled, and then suddenly, she stopped, and the boiling water did too. She took a small bottle from a container and dipped into the pink liquid, collecting some. She covered the small bottle and wrapped it with some leaves. She walked back to the room where Colton was sitting, waiting for her. "Here," she said, handing Colton the potion, which was wrapped with leaves. "Make sure she drinks this potion before morning, as the potion will expire as soon as it reaches 12:00 am tomorrow," she instructed. Colton took the potion from her and thanked her. He turned his back to leave, and then suddenly, the room became dark again, and the witch vanished. It became like how it was initially when he had entered. He left the house, and as soon as he was out, the wooden door automatically closed. He shifted to his wolf form and flew off with more speed than he had come with. As the witch had instructed, Amelia had to take the potion before 12:00 am, so he needed to get to the Black Moon Pack, the rogue's pack, as soon as possible. He flew past kingdoms and many packs before finally reaching the Black Moon Pack. It was already night there too. His eyes suddenly caught a light, a light that seemed to be from a fire. He flew down a little to see them more clearly. He noticed a group of horses galloping, with the riders holding a kerosene lamp as the horses galloped with speed. He flew down a little more to see them more clearly, and with his wolf eyes, he noticed the attire of the men and a flag on their clothing. They were warriors, warriors from the Crescent Moon Pack. "What were they looking for in the rogue's pack?" he wondered. He came down a bit more, and this time, he saw something that shocked him more - Anthony Reyes, on one of the horses. "What the f**k was his stepbrother doing in the Rogue's pack?" he wondered once again.
