I woke up relieved this morning. The demons were silenced, and my coffee was even sweeter than usual. Nothing had been reported in the news about the fire; honestly, I wasn't surprised. Sonny had paid someone off to hide it from the media, and I can't blame him. He took a big hit last night and wouldn't want the truth in the news.
I decided it would be best to enjoy my freedom from the demons for the day and treat myself to self-care I don't usually feel up for. After shaving everything, I fixed the chipping on my black nails, soaked in hot soapy bubbles. I even rubbed myself down in lotion after brushing my teeth… but now the exhaustion is creeping back in, and sleeping the day away sounds even better than the self-care. At least I'm clean and soft again.
