Chapter Three - The Bad Boy thinks I am jealous pftt

Taylor’s P.O.V

Today I was helping my parents get organised for the BBQ they were throwing for family and the street. They always through one at the start of the summer and then near the end. Luckily I wouldn’t be alone cause Carter was coming over, so that gave me some company. I was dreading one person coming over, that person being my cousin Sarah. She was the same age as me, went to my school but she acts like she doesn’t know me when we are there. She is how can I put it nicely…a b***h? Trust me I could say worse but I don’t like using the other words I could call her. People would start arriving soon so we were just getting finished up with organizing.

“Taylor sweetie Carter is here.” My mum called from the backdoor

“YEAH!” I said excitedly because we had not seen each other in over a week cause she was away with family on vacation, so I had missed her.

I rushed into the house, finding her in the hall waiting for me, 

“Taylor!” she said excited, rushing over to hug me “I missed you.” She added

“I missed you too. Thank God you are here now.” I said hugging her back.

“Now let’s go get ready.” She said as we headed upstairs

We caught up as we got changed into our outfits for by the pool. I informed her about my new neighbour.

“Oh My God! He sounds horrible and rude.” She said shaking her head

“Yes, he is. The worst of it is, he will be starting at our school. He will be in our year. I hope he doesn’t have any of the same classes. “I said annoyed.

“But at least if he starts school there will be other girls to steal his attention so he may leave you alone.” She said.

“Yes, good point. Hopefully, it works out that way.” I said hopefully. 

Once we were ready we headed back downstairs, people already arriving. I gave them all a wave and a smile. Carter did the same. I turned my attention back to Carter to continue chatting.

“Mmm, then there was two.” I heard, knowing exactly who it was, 

Carter looked up confused, looking at Nate and then back at me.

“Nate, what are you even doing here? I didn’t think this would be your sort of thing.” I said rolling my eyes.

“Well, princess you are here so I had to come. Who is your friend?” he asked now eyeing Carter up and down.

“None of your damn business.” I said barging by him, Carter following behind me.

“Taylor your ass looks really good in those shorts.” He moaned from behind me. 

“Nathan!” I heard his mum say to him.

“What? I am giving her a compliment.” He groaned annoyed. 

Carter and I giggled a little hearing him getting into trouble from his mum. To be honest I don’t think he even cares anyway. His mum walked by us, saying sorry again for him. She was clearly a little embarrassed with the way he was acting. Next thing he appeared, pushing in between Carter and me, wrapping an arm around each of our shoulders.

“So threesome?” he said looking at us

“Eww no.” we said in sync

“Don’t tell me you believe all the same bullshit as her?” he said looking at Carter.

“What if I do?” she asked raising her brow

“You are both delusional.” He laughed “How about we ditch this s**t and go have some real fun…just the three of us? I promise to behave.” He smirked.

I just shook my head, pulling away from him and walking away. Carter soon catching up with me. 

“Whoa!” was all she said

“Yup, that about sums it up.” I replied

We headed out back, Nathan soon on our trail. I had a feeling we were not gonna get peace from him anytime soon. Though within moments I was proved wrong cause as soon as we stepped outside he spotted Sarah and a smirk appeared on his lips,

“Well, my good girls I will catch you soon. I think she looks like she could be up for some fun. Who is she?” he asked. 

“My cousin Sarah. And yeah you are right she is up for anything.” I said rolling my eyes, 

“Don’t get jealous now Taylor.” He smirked at me

“Oh yes, I will try not to cry myself to sleep over it.” I said sarcastically before shaking my head and walking away with Carter.

Nate made his was over to Sarah. As soon as she saw him she went into flirt mode. He was whispering in her ear, her giggling and touching him. Seriously? What is wrong with that girl? Then again Nate seems her type. She likes assholes. Well at least if she has his attention then he will leave me alone and with any luck completely forget about me.

“For once I am thankful she is here.” I laughed referring to Sarah.

“Yes, I am sure she will keep his attention for the day.” Carter giggled. 

Cater and I headed around saying hello to everyone before deciding to grab a soda and relax by the pool for a bit until the food is ready. We chatted as we enjoyed the sunshine while everyone else chatted, had drinks or was in the pool. I looked around watching everyone and smiling. I liked these BBQS everyone always seemed happy and enjoyed themselves, leaving Carter and me to it which is how we prefer it. My eyes then fell on Sarah and Nate in the corner. She was leaning against the wall. He was standing In front of her, his hands on her hips. They were closer than they really needed to be but none of them seems to be bothered by that. I am sure they will end up hooking up. Next thing Nate turned around. He must have felt someone watching him and his eyes soon fell on me. A smirk appearing on his lips. He stayed like that for a moment before turning around, placing his lips over Sarah’s, kissing her. She never seemed to mind cause she started kissing him back and with that, I turned away. I do not need or want to see that.

“Eww!” I said disgustedly

“What?”Carter asked

I nodded in the direction of Nate and Sarah who were now in a make-out session. 

“Eww! But does that surprise you?” she asked

“No…not at all but come on their parents can see that. There are kids around. It’s disgusting.”I said

“I know but it is not like they will be caring.” She said and I nodded in agreement.

After that, I decided I wasn’t gonna let it bother me. Wait! Why was it even bothering me in the first place? I don’t care what either of them does or does not do. After that I just acted like neither of them existed and got back to relaxing, chatting with my best friend until it was time to grab some food…finally! I was so hungry.

“Carter, you want anything?” I asked

“Cheeseburger please.” She smiled

I nodded, heading over to where the food was, grabbing us a burger each. Next thing I felt someone pressed against my back. A little too close for comfort if you ask me. I stepped away and heard a chuckle, with that I knew exactly who it was. Nate! I turned around, taking a couple of steps back. 

“Is there any need to be so close?” I said annoyed

A smirk appeared on his lips, stepping in closer to me again,

“You love when I get close.” He said smugly

“Eww! No!” I said shaking my head “How about you go back to Sarah and leave me the heck alone?” I groaned. 

He laughed, his head falling back,

“Oh My God you are jealous.” He chuckled

“What? I do not think so somehow. You and she are welcome to each other.” I said.

“You are a terrible liar. I saw you watching me earlier. Taylor if you want to be the one that I am kissing all you have to do is say.” He said with that stupid smug look on his face.

“I do not want you or your lips anywhere near me.” I snapped before walking away fr om him,groaning to myself in annoyance.

I heard him laugh loudly as I did. Why can’t he just leave me alone?
