CHAPTER 5: SUDDEN BLAZETHE NEXT MORNING, SHE CAME awake suddenly and she listened, not certain what had brought her out of sleep so quickly. She was used to hearing Abby and Alice call for her in the middle of the night. It didn’t happen often, but it certainly wasn’t unusual for there to be a nighttime or early morning emergency.
