He’d radioed in for further instructions, but every time it was the same: convince the woman to come back to her father. So, it was time to mentally regroup and figure out the next plan of action. Obviously, the plan to stand around waiting for the Admiral’s daughter to come back with him was an ineffective strategy. She seemed absolutely certain she was needed there—and she was probably right—and possessed no interest whatsoever in returning with him to see her father.
