Episode 18

Chhavi’s POV

    Tomorrow I am having an exam and I have been trying to call my dad for a long time, but he is not answering my call. It was not from my mobile though, I am calling him from the landline number of the palace.

    I just took my books and started reading them, but my eyes were becoming heavy, so I kept them aside and walked towards the backyard and made myself comfortable on the chair and was counting stars, when suddenly he asked, “how many stars are there?” I turned and ran towards him and hugged him tightly and said, “I missed you,” and he smiled and tugged my strand of hair behind the ear and said, “tomorrow, you are having exams, hope you have tried to cover at least some your syllabi,” and I smiled and nodded as no.

    He pecked my lips and kissed my hair and said, “we are going to do night out today as well, but from now on you are going to study on your own, otherwise I will appoint the teacher to take your classes, who is going to be very strict.”

    “I will run away,” I said and he looked at me confused and asked, “are you planning to run away from me?”

    “No, I will run away from the teacher,” I said and pecked his lips and ran into the chamber and thought, “he was awake for the past two days, how can he be awake today,” and walked towards the dining room to look after the arrangements, as I want to take care of him, like he does with me.

    When I saw everything was arranged, I took the plate and was about to serve it to take upstairs, he said, “we are going to have dinner here only,” and I smiled and set the plate near his seat and served the food and served my plate and sat beside him and asked, “how did the exam go?”

    He smiled and nodded his head. I kept my hand on his hand and said, “I know you are going to pass, you know I prayed for you in the morning, and…,” I stopped thinking that he wouldn't believe my words, but he looked at me and raised his brow.

    I just smiled and lowered my head and started to eat and asked, “dad is not picking up my calls, after the exams can I go and meet him?”

    “Yes, but before that you have to write exams,” he said, teasingly. I looked at him for some time and he is looking tired and I don’t think he can complete even one chapter also. His eyes are already craving for sleep.

    We reached the chamber and he took my books and settled on the bed and smiled looking at me and started to explain to me and I started noting the points thinking that he will sleep in some time, but he completed all the chapters and laid on the bed and closed his eyes. I felt pity looking at him.

    I cleaned the bed and made him straight, he was heavy, but I was able to straighten him easily, and covered him with the duvet and kissed his forehead and thought, “thank you for everything my king, I promise I will never leave your hand, I know some hurdles may come in our way in the future, but I will stand strong only for you,” and laid beside him and hugged him tightly.

Vikram’s POV

    After that meeting, I had other meetings lined up and I visited the orphanage as well, and they are doing their work very perfectly and fast as well, I can say and I hope it will complete within 10 to 15 days. I turned towards Nihal and said, “make sure nobody knows about this place, Chhavi has to stay here for some days,” and he nodded his head.

    I have to give her some self-defence training before sending her here and I have to make sure Mr. Rajput doesn't know about this place as well.

    I reached the palace and saw Chhavi was missing, I went into the backyard and saw that she was counting the stars pointing her finger towards them and I asked, “how many stars are there?” and she came running towards me and hugged me tightly like a small baby and said, “I missed you,” the word, which I was craving to listen to for the past four years. Naina never used these words for me, but I always expected these words from her mouth.

    After making sure that I explained to her everything I closed my eyes and laid down where I was as I had no energy left and when I woke up, I saw that I was sleeping straight and she was sleeping hugging me. I made her straight and covered her with the duvet and walked towards the washroom. I freshened myself and went for a jog and when I returned I saw that she was reading the points which she noted yesterday. I went near her and asked, “do you have any doubts?” and she lowered her head.

    I took the book from her hand and read the points and said, “Chhavi, it is a somewhat complicated point, but it is easy as well,” and took one pen and I explained that point in another way and she smiled and kissed my lips and ran away from there.

Arghhh, she is doing too much, I can’t send her anywhere. I can’t live without her.

I made myself ready and saw that she had made herself ready as well and asked, “we will have breakfast outside, can we eat outside today?”

I nodded my head as yes and walked towards the door and she asked, “don’t you think you should tell me all the best?”

“No, because I only taught you everything, you should tell me thanks and clear the exam and give me a party,” I said and walked towards the car and she followed me. She had a bad face throughout our way to college.

We had breakfast at a small restaurant and I dropped her near the center and she looked at me pouting and got out of the car and walked towards the hall and I smiled looking at her back and went and parked my car in the parking lot and when she was about to enter the hall, I pulled her over me and said, “all the best, my queen,” and pecked her lips and then kissed her hair and said, “don’t fail me as you are my key to success, promise me that you will always stay with me, and become my success in all aspects of my life,” and held her hand and said, “you are the one by seeing whose eyes I get relaxed and forget about everything, don’t let me down at any cost, at any situation,” and kissed her knuckles and kissed her lips softly and send her in the hall and turned towards Payal and smiled and got out of the center.

In the afternoon, when I went to receive her, she said that she want to meet her dad and I had taken her to Mr. Rajput’s palace, dropped her there, and said that I would come and pick her up in one hour and she looked at me confused.

“We can’t meet your dad till Sarah returns,” I said and she came back in the car and said, “let’s go, I also don’t want to meet him now.”

I smiled and said, “don’t you want to meet your brother?” and her eyes became wide and asked, “is he here?” When I nodded yes, she got out of the car and said, “I will be waiting for you here in one hour,” and ran into the palace.

Sorry Chhavi, I promised myself that I will not enter this palace until your father is alive, he cheated me, he cheated us, he only made arrangements for King Shekhar to return early, he only arranged the early morning meeting, knowing that King Mahesh will be busy with funeral arrangements. I don’t know whether I can behave normally in front of him or not?

Chhavi’s POV

    As soon as he said my brother is here, I ran into the palace shouting his name, Vish, and he came and stood in front of me and hugged me and said, “I missed you a lot, Chhavi,” and I broke the hug and looked at him for some time and said, “I also missed you a lot,” and kissed his forehead and took him near the couch and made him sit and I sat beside him and rested my head on his shoulder and asked, “where is dad? Why is he not picking up my calls?”

    “Chhavi, you know I passed my 10th, and I am planning to complete my studies here only,” he said and I felt happy and pressed his hand and asked, “where is dad?”

    “Chhavi, are you listening to me,” he asked and I turned my head towards him and asked, “what?”

    “Dad is out of station and will return in two days,” he said.

    “How is his health? Is he taking his medicines on time?” I enquired and looked for Survi.

    “Survi is not here, dad removed her,” he said and I looked at him in shock and he said, “I don’t know where she went,” and I felt bad for her. She was the only support I had in this palace and she also left.

    “Vish are you hiding anything?” I asked and he nodded as no and went into the kitchen and brought me my favorite noodles and said, “King Vikram informed me that you are coming, so I asked them to make your favorite noodles,” and sat beside me.

    I was about to take the bite, he said, “sometimes what we see and what we think can’t be true, we should use our small white matter in our head,” and I looked at him suspiciously and he said, “after some days if you remember these words you will understand everything.” 

    I don’t know why, but I am getting a feeling that he is trying to tell me something in a code language, and he is behaving as if he is my elder brother.

    I finished my noodles and walked towards the door, when he came near my ear and said, “don’t inform anyone about whereabouts, not even dad,” and moved away and I looked at him in shock, but he behaved as if he said nothing.

    I went and stood near the gate and saw my king had already arrived. When I was about to cross the gate, Vish again came near me and said, “Always remember my words, I will remind you again, when the correct time comes,” and moved away from me.

    “What is happening? Why is he behaving like that?” I thought and turned towards him and saw he was just smiling casually looking at my king and waving his hand.

    I went and sat in the car and waved at him and he smiled and threw a flying kiss towards me and I smiled and did the same.

    “Did you meet your dad?” he asked and I nodded as no and informed him that he was out of the city.
