Episode 24

Vikram’s POV

I was talking to my mom when I saw Sarah going towards Chhavi and I saw how confidently she gave a befitting reply to Sarah and how her face expressions changed, but suddenly mom held my hand and said, “get married to Sarah, she loves you and she is really sorry for her behavior, and I promise she will prove herself as the best daughter-in-law and best wife,” and I thought, “what about the best queen, don’t the palace needs a good and understanding queen?”

I saw how happy my mom is, so I kept my thoughts with me as I can’t make her sad, but I can’t even break my Chhavi’s heart, I was thinking about something and mom pressed my hand and said, “don’t think too much about that girl, she is not fit for you, she is still immature and our palace needs a mature queen.”

I smiled listening to her and took her hand in my hands and said, “I think you should rest for some time, we can talk about it some other time,” and took her to her chamber and walked towards my chamber and saw Sarah sitting on my bed, I growled at first, but then composed myself and spoke to her sweetly as I want to play along with her and saw Chhavi running away from there.

I know I am hurting her, but I don’t have any other choice, as father and daughter are playing very nicely and if I will support Chhavi also the condition is going to get worse as they have planned to put the blame of her disappearance on Chhavi.

I walked towards Chhavi, but she was angry, so, I just informed her about her exile and walked away from there. I took the help of Payal as Sarah is always behind me and mom is trying her best to push me towards Sarah and I was doing what they were expecting from me, but playing my own game along with them. I just want the safety of my love and for that I have prepared everything.

Chhavi came towards me, but when I saw Sarah at the door, I just walked away from there, breaking her heart as I didn't want to make them suspicious. I just want Chhavi to reach her destination till evening safely and Nihal has promised me that he will take care of everything with the help of his friend.

After Chhavi left, it felt as though the Palace had lost it’s life. I walked towards our chamber, but without Chhavi it was looking pale, and I was shocked to see the sheet was missing from the bed and I know what might have happened there and a smile crept on my lips and suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see Sarah smiling looking at me and she intertwined our fingers and said, “mom said that we are getting married in two days, you know I am so excited to come to this chamber.”

“So, when are you going shopping and what about your parlor visit?” I asked, pushing her away as she was clinging on to me.

“We already completed our shopping and for the next two days I have a busy schedule with the parlor, I just wanted to have a kiss before leaving for the parlor,” she said, coming towards my lips and I pushed her away and said, “mom is coming,” and she smiled and said, “hope you are not boring, I just want to have fun the whole night on our first night,” and walked away from there.

Mom invited some guests, including King Mahesh for a small party to declare my marriage with Sarah and she was busy making arrangements and I walked out of the palace as I felt suffocated without Chhavi in that palace.

In the evening, mom called me to inform me that the guests have arrived and they are waiting for my arrival and I had to stop my work and walk towards my palace with a fake smile plastered on my face.

Sarah came and stood beside me and I moved away from there and went and sat near King Mahesh and saw that he was looking at Sarah intently and suddenly he said, “we need to talk, hope we can visit your garden,” and I nodded my head and came on my feet and took him to the garden.

After we reached the garden, King Mahesh stayed silent for some time and when he opened his mouth, I looked at him shocked as he said, “Vikram, you are like my child, I always cared about you, but this time I need a favor from you, and I know you are going to agree to it happily,” and I nodded my head in agreement.

“Then it is going to be a secret agreement between us,” he said and I again nodded my head, as I can’t forget his favors.

We both walked inside and saw Sarah was looking at one young prince lustfully and I left King Mahesh there and ran towards my chamber and laid on the bed and closed my eyes thinking about King Mahesh, the cruel king, who killed nearly 9 queens after making them pregnant, he first got married at the age of 17 to the queen who was elder than him because he loved her very much and after losing her, he used to get married, but before they could deliver, he used to kill them, but I am not understanding why he killed them.

When I was in my own thoughts, Sarah entered the chamber and said, “can we sleep together, I am not getting sleep in that small chamber.”

“Don’t you know about the rituals of this palace, from midnight you can’t see my face till our marriage,” I said pushing her out of the room and saw mom standing there.

“Sarah, I called you so many times, don’t you know we have certain rituals, which you should follow, you can’t see his face till the marriage is performed,” said my mom and took her away from there dragging.

The other two days they were busy with the rituals and I spent my time in the office saying that I have some foreign delegates to take care of and mom took my lies and didn’t care to disturb me, which I am thankful for.
