"I want something in exchange for the tip that could save your life."
"You expect me to believe this 'tip' you're talking about? Its not like you're working with them." She could see the suspicion in his eyes as he said this.
How would she know about their plan of going to the river pack? It was a secret mission and no one except he and his beta knew about it.
"I'm trying to save your life here and you'll owe me three favours which I'll ask for in the future. Take it or leave it." She sat back and looked out through the window but she couldn't be calm seeing as they slowly approached her pack's borders. She felt like she needed to convince him.
She sighed and turned to him again, "Why can't you believe me?" She asked.
"I believe you." He told her making her brows shoot up in surprise, "... But going there is important." He continued.
"More important than your life?"
"Mmmm..." He replied and she wanted to ask more but saw Casper shake his head at her. Indicating for her to stop.
But her curious self just couldn't stop herself from wondering. She could tell from his expression that he knew the dangers without her needing to tell him but he was still going to go. Why? Why was he willing to risk his life to go there?
It wasn't like she knew much about him. He was so mysterious and cold too. His mood changes quickly and his thoughts are hard to read.
She sighed knowing that she would have to go with her plan B. The rest of the drive was silent. No one spoke until they arrived at her pack house and Casper immediately got down to open the door.
"Thank you for the ride, alpha Rick." She said seeing him lean back and close his eyes without replying then she got out of the car. Holding the door, Casper flashed her a smile and bowed slightly, "We'll meet again luna."
"Luna Mirabel. I won't stop correcting you beta Casper." She gave him a smile that looked harmless but he saw the coldness in it making him sigh internally.
The moment he went back inside the car. His expression changed immediately to that of worry as he took a glance at Rick who was clutching his chest and groaning with his eyes closed. He quickly brought out some pills and handed it to him.
"You were holding it in for so long. Why? It could have killed you Rick."
"Then do you expect me to tell her? I'm already in such a pathetic state. I don't want her to pity me." Rick rubbed his chest and ordered the driver to drive faster. He closed his eyes and leaned back on his seat.
"She could save us you know?" He heard his wolf blaze say and could already feel a headache coming on.
"Not now blaze. I'm already in a bad mood. Don't make it any worse." He snapped.
...
As Mira walked into the pack house. She felt that the atmosphere was strange. She couldn't find anyone on her way inside which just gave her a bad feeling. She spotted someone at a far distance and called out and called out, quickly catching up to him.
It was the gamma, James.
"When did you return?" She asked him.
"A few hours ago." James answered, sighing, he gave her a look and asked, "Where's your phone luna?"
"Why? Where's everyone? What's going on?"
"Let me see your phone, Luna." He insisted.
Mira quickly searched and took out her phone, handing it to him right away.
He powered it and showed it to her. There, she saw twenty one missed calls. Surprised, she took it from him and checked. They were all from her husband, Andy and James here.
Why? She hadn't heard it ring throughout the day so how?
She never sets her phone to silent but now it was and this surely wasn't her doing.
"Can you tell me what's really going on?" She asked him.
"Its Eli." James replied with a worried sigh, "She's been kneeling in front of your room for the whole day without food or water asking to forgive her and not send her away. Her knees must be hurting by now." He breathed out, "By the way Luna, why do you want to send her out of our pack?"
Mira wasn't surprised. Somehow she expected a drama like this but didn't think someone would set her phone to silent mode. With the way James sounded, it seemed as if the drama was a bit more than she predicted.
Without answering his questions, she turned to her left and started to head in that direction while James followed behind her. She arrived in front of her room and as expected, there was quite a crowd and commotion too. She searched around for Jason and saw him watching from the side where no one would spot him.
"Luna is here." Someone announced and the crowd parted revealing what was in their middle. Eli was kneeling and shivering there as tears flowed from her eyes non stop.
"I can't go back." She kept mumbling on and on but it was loud enough for everyone to hear. Her hair was disheveled and her eyes red and swollen. She really looked pitiful right now. Even Mira felt her heart move at the sight. Why was she so good at acting huh?
"What's going on here?" She strolled forward. The clicking sound of her shoes echoed in the space.
Jason appeared at that moment, putting his hands over her shoulder. He looked toward his sister and commanded, "Eli... Apologize to her."
Eli quickly turned towards her and kowtowed a few times, "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry... I-I shouldn't have said anything, I shouldn't have blamed you. Forgive me. D-don't send me away please."
"When was I going to send you away?" Mira looked puzzled. She threw Jason a glare and returned her attention to Eli, "You shouldn't apologize for something you did not do Eli. You said it yourself that I gave those cuts to myself and now you're apologizing? Does it mean you agree to what you did? Are you confessing right now?"
Eli remained silent. Of course they didn't expect her to twist her question like this. Admitting that in front of this much of a crowd. What would the others think of her? So Eli just gritted her teeth and remained silent looking at Jason for help.
"Let's not dwell on that. Forgive her this once Mira. Let's be one happy family again."
"No. Only if she admits to what she did. She has to go for everyone to be happy." Mira stated firmly.
"No... No... No. Please you can't do that." Eli threw herself at Mira's feets again and started to cry, "I'll do anything luna. I... I beg you."
"Ha!" Mira scoffed internally rolling her eyes at their ridiculous act. They were so in sync with each other.
Just as she opened her mouth to speak, She saw the beta, Andy also drop to his knees at her feets, "You're my luna and I respect all of your decisions but Eli... Cannot go." He bowed and Mira stared coldly at him as he brought out a document and handed it to her.
Wondering what they were up to this time, she took the papers from him and the first sentence she read made her eyes widen in shock. Her hands shook slightly and the paper fell from her hands.
"You all should see for yourself." Andy distributed them.
Mira swallowed hearing the gasps that surrounded her and then the whispers.
"She's in this state and going through all this torture..."
"I can't imagine it!"
Although, they were whispers, she could still hear all of them and they went on and on of course not in her favour.
"Wjy didn't you tell me?" Jason looked shocked as he approached Eli and knelt beside her, "Is this really true?"
Eli nodded dully looking seriously weak.
"I just found out myself." Andy said to them.
"Luna." Andy called awaiting her decision. Jason and everyone else also looked at her but she remained silent. With this, it was hard to send her away now. She knew it wasn't going to be that easy to get rid of her though. It just means she would go with plan B.
She glanced at Jason and she saw him sigh. Pursing her lips, she refused to say a word but as her eyes met Eli's, she saw a smirk appear on her lips and wondered what more tricks she had up her sleeves.
She clenched her fists and watched as Eli's eyes rolled back and then she fainted. In Jason's arms.
Shocked, everyone rushed towards her, worried except for Mira. She watched silently as Jason took his dear sister out appearing frantic as he headed to the clinic to get her checked up. She shook her head once everyone left and wanted to enter her room but noticed the gamma staring at her.
"What?" She asked but he just shook his head and asked, "Are you okay?"
She smiled and nodded. She remembered at this time, nothing like this happened. It only meant everything that happened here just now was scripted and acted out by them. It was just perfect but she wasn't done yet. She fought the urge to hold back a smirk.
"You should rest." James told her.
"I should." She chuckled and went inside.
It was already the middle of the night and Mira was preparing to sleep when she noticed a presence in her room. An ominous feeling overcame her. A dark figure was standing there and staring at her, shrouded in the darkness. There was no scent and this just made her high at alert. It could be rogues. Who knows? Or...
Her eyes narrowed as she thought of something that was likely possible. An assassin! Her heart started to beat faster at the thought.
Slolwy, she located the switch and turned on the lights but that figure was gone. Her room was empty once again with only her in it but she knew that was not the case. She could swear she sensed someone just now, she was sure but as she looked around, there was no one. She whirled only to come in contact with a person dressed in all black which made him able to hide in the dark.
A scream left her throat but never made it out as the person pressed his hands to her mouth. Shutting her up.
