Meeting

Chaos POV Walking alongside Skye, we made our way to meet the dragons and her family. The air was heavy with anticipation, and the flickering torches cast dancing shadows on the stone walls, creating an atmosphere of secrecy. As we entered the room, I could see that everyone had gathered. Seven dragon warriors stood stationed, their imposing figures a testament to their strength. Pledging their allegiance to our cause, they were a mix of fire and ice dragons, a symbol of newfound unity. Valor, the lead warrior, exuded an aura of loyalty that reminded me of my former self. His fiery presence resonated with the determination to protect his kingdom, including Skye and her family, as her mother reigned as the Ice Dragon queen. Taking our seats at the grand table, I noticed the hushed whispers and serious expressions that filled the room. Colson, usually boisterous, now sat quietly, adding an air of gravity to the moment. Skye and I exchanged glances, I felt a renewed sense of purpose after so many years. Breaking the silence, Skye's father rose from his seat, his commanding presence commanding attention. "Valor, I entrust you to lead the discussion. Please share what you have learned," he declared. Valor nodded, his eyes gleaming, and began to speak, his voice resonating with authority in the chamber. "We split up to reach all the key locations.. At each site, we encountered crews already on the lookout. It was evident that they anticipated Skye's arrival. There was no moment when any location seemed unguarded; we have to be prepared for battles at every location. The groups stationed there comprised a substantial number of Fae, their power very strong. Among them, we sensed the immense strength of fire Fae, who had always been allies of the great Fae kingdom. However, now it seems safe to assume that they might be our enemies.” “We managed to trail a few of these warriors undetected into the mountains, where they seemed to have established their base. The aura surrounding their stronghold was eerie, an unsettling presence. We could sense a power similar to the portal connecting the human realm, suggesting they have an open gateway to another dark realm. The evil emanating from it indicated that the mastermind behind all of this may not be Fae but possibly a dragon from another realm.” “As a dragon, I possess a heightened sense of awareness, able to detect the presence of others. It was I who personally scanned the area, and unmistakably, I sensed the presence of a dragon. But that wasn't all.” he said. Valor then turned his attention towards me, his words causing a whirlwind of thoughts in my mind. “Dragons have an impeccable memory, able to recall the unique scent of those we encounter, even after a single meeting. And amidst the mountains, we picked up a scent similar to yours, Chaos. This could mean that someone there is directly connected to you." he explained. Valor's words echoed in my mind, and suddenly, the memories I shared with Skye earlier came rushing back. I cleared my throat, the sound echoing in the room. "My mother… Skye was able to free my past memories," I began, my voice tinged with uncertainty. "It would seem I was indeed born in this realm, but when I was a child, my mother put me into a deep sleep and sent me to the Lycan realm with another who resembled her." I paused. "I have no clue if my mother survived or not," I continued, my voice filled with a mix of fear and longing. "Nor do I know what happened to my father, to be honest. It could be one of them, or even both. But my last memory with my mother, it would seem that she was trying to protect me and the unicorn kingdom. So, I doubt she is evil or working with the enemy willingly." Valor nodded, his eyes steady. "I wish I could have seen who it was for clarification," he admitted. "But if we do catch onto the scent and run into them, my men will not attack to kill. If they fight, we will defend ourselves, but we will try to bring them to you." Skye took my hand in hers, and gave it a gentle squeeze, reassuring me in her touch. Valor continued, his voice strong. "We also caught onto Rooks scent in the mountains, so it is clear this is the source he is working for. When we traveled to the great fae kingdom, it would seem that the fire fae have temporarily taken control. Although Jade has maintained a small area and is keeping the citizens that lived within the kingdom safe for now," he finished. "I have faith Jade will continue to protect, and we will lend aid when we can. But I know he also knows the importance of our current mission right now." Rain spoke up, her voice filled with unwavering faith. "Since I can't open a portal right now, Skye, I am going to need you to try to reach out to the power in you. Bring the rest of our family to this kingdom, except for my mother and father. They will watch after the human realm for the time being, but we need the rest." Rain asked Skye. Skye's hand trembled slightly, her worry palpable. "My brothers and younger cousins, they should stay home as well. They are not old enough to fight," she said, her voice filled with concern. "You are correct," Caleb said. "As much as I wanted them here so our family is together, they should remain home with Amaris as well since I know she will keep them safe for the time being. We should focus on bringing my parents out here as well as my sister and her mate. With our combined power, I think it should be enough." Skye nodded her head in agreement, her long hair swaying gently with the movement. "I think I can do it now," Skye replied. She focused on the task at hand, her brow furrowing in concentration. "But it may take me a little time. I will work on focusing on them and bringing them out. However, I don't know how I can warn Amaris of what is happening." "Amaris will know to watch your brothers and cousins," Rain reassured Skye, her voice calm. "Even without knowledge of what is exactly going on, as we already knew there was an issue when the portal closed." Skye let out a small sigh of relief. "As far as making an attack plan, we need to focus on each area separately," Caleb suggested, his voice steady and authoritative. Valor, standing nearby, listened attentively. "Do you think you can gather more intel on what power these fae warriors may hold? Do any of them possess anything special? We also need someone to keep an eye on the mountains, so we can figure out exactly what we are up against. If it is a dragon from another realm, what type of dragon?" Caleb inquired, his voice filled with curiosity. "I will take a few warriors with me," Valor replied confidently. "And we will continue to gather intel." "Thank you," Caleb expressed his gratitude, his voice sincere and appreciative. "Chaos, it is important that we all continue training. We must be prepared to fight. I am hopeful we can both teach each other. It is important for you to learn everyone's strengths here as well, so we fight well as a team. I would also like your assistance in formulating an attack plan." "I am prepared to help in any way that I can," I responded. Colson leaned back in his creaking chair.. I finally saw a smirk forming on his face, his lips curling with excitement "This is sure to be interesting," he said, his voice laced with anticipation. "I mean, I know we are facing a hell load of danger, but whoever this new dragon is, is about to learn he is f*****g with the wrong family. He's about to get his ass fried right back to where he came from." Colson continued, his voice brimming with eagerness. "And not just that, I can't wait to see exactly what power Chaos has. I mean, if it was protected the way it has been, and he is supposed to be some supercharged Lycan king, it has to be absolutely mind-blowing." The sound of Colson's chair scraping against the wooden floor filled the room as he leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. Caleb sighed, his weary eyes fixed on Colson. "I swear you like being in situations like this," he remarked. "I live for danger, flaming. It's what keeps this old vampire going," Colson joked, a playful grin spreading across his face. Skye, sitting beside me, smiled warmly. "I mean, I guess it will be cool to see just how powerful you really are," she said. "I know you already are, but getting to witness you accept your true self will be fun, especially since I know it will make you feel whole." Her voice was soft, filled with genuine support. "I just hope I can live up to the expectations that were made for me," I confessed, feeling a knot of uncertainty tightening in my chest. "I will do my best." "I think you will do more than fine," Colson reassured me, his grin widening. Caleb decided to conclude the meeting. "For now, let's end this meeting," he said. "Skye, focus on bringing our family here, but do not hurt yourself in doing so. Chaos, if you don't mind meeting with me a little later to share some of the strategies that may have worked well for you in your old realm, that would be appreciated. But for now, I believe Skye will need you close, since you help her control that power she holds." "I will," I replied, standing up with Skye by my side. I could feel her nervousness radiating off of her, her hands trembling slightly. She wanted to be helpful, but even with the one key she possessed, she still struggled. I was determined to assist her in any way that I could, to ease her worries and guide her through this daunting task.
