Chaos
Her eyes glowed like shimmering crystals, drawing me in with their captivating brilliance. The star on her head emitted a soft, ethereal glow, casting a gentle halo around her. I couldn't tear my gaze away from her, completely mesmerized by her breathtaking beauty, both inside and out. She belonged to me, and her presence had breathed life back into my desolate existence.
I vowed to cherish and protect her, my fierce warrior instincts tempered by a newfound tenderness. Though I had been trained to be unyielding, with her, I would ensure I never caused her pain. Every touch, every caress, felt intoxicatingly good, I restrained myself, holding back so she could adjust to me. Our bodies fit together like two perfectly crafted puzzle pieces, an exquisite union that left me craving more.
She may have grown up around werewolves, and she was a shifter, but my kind is more primal than many others. Luckily, I have some control over it. The knowledge that she was nervous to mate was actually helping me right now, preventing me from overwhelming her. For me, part of mating involves knotting, but I couldn’t bring myself to do that to her just yet. I knew it would eventually happen, as I needed her to get used to all of me. It was a part of mating for me, but I was well aware that it would initially overwhelm her body. So for now, I was going to hold back.
I started to thrust into her slightly harder, lifting her so our bodies were closer. Her moans were like melodies to my ears. The star on her head began to glow brighter as our lips met again. Then, I felt a powerful surge through my body. It was an amazing warm, tingling sensation, making me feel more connected to her. "Mate marked us," Blade howled in my mind as I climaxed with Skye and held her in my arms. I didn't want this moment to end, fearing it might be a dream.
Finally, after some time, she took my hand in hers and traced a small star mark on my wrist. "You're mine now forever," she whispered. I couldn't even express how amazing it felt to hear those words come from her. The more I thought about it, the more I realized it was only right that she marked me first. She put in the effort to be with me, fighting for a connection even before she sensed me.
I traced my hand against her soft skin. She was no longer burning up, indicating her heat had been satisfied. I wanted more of her. I think now I will always crave her and this connection. But I also knew she was tired.
"Chaos, can I try something?" she asked. "I don't know if it will work, but it may now that you have my mark. I want to get into your mind and see if I can break the spell on your Lycan."
I hesitated. "Will it hurt you?" I asked, concerned for her well-being.
"I don't think so," she replied, her voice wavering. "I can't always control my powers as of late. I was much better when I was younger. But it won't hurt me, but it may cause you some pain. So, I want your permission."
I considered her words carefully. "Just promise me you will stop if it ends up causing you pain. You have my permission if you can make that promise," I said, my voice filled with caution.
She turned to face me, her eyes locked with mine. "I promise," she assured me. "Sit up on the bed."
I followed her instructions, sitting up as she surprised me by climbing onto my lap. The sensation caught me off guard, and a wave of desire surged through me. But I suppressed my urges, focusing on the task at hand.
Her hands gently cupped my face, her touch tender. I could sense her concentration as she stared into my eyes. And as she did, her eyes seemed to change, a flicker of warmth and power dancing within them.
A tingling sensation spread through my entire body. Time seemed to stretch, and I could feel her body trembling against mine. Before I could voice my concern, a searing pain tore through me, ripping through my body like a violent storm.
My lycan growled, a low rumble vibrating through my body, and I felt him trying to pull forward, desperate for freedom. "Just a little more," she said, her voice strained with effort. And then, I felt it. The chains holding my lycan broke. The spell was shattered, and a surge of relief washed over me. "She freed us," my lycan said, his astonishment mirroring my own. I felt whole again.
Skye finally broke the intense eye contact as she took deep breaths, her chest rising and falling rapidly. I couldn't resist. Instantly, I pulled her close, my hunger for her overwhelming. Our lips collided in a hungry, passionate kiss, and I brushed my hand gently against her marking spot. Breaking the kiss only briefly, I trailed my lips against her skin once more. I couldn't wait any longer. I needed to mark her, to complete the bond between us. As my lips reached her marking spot, I hesitated momentarily, wanting to make sure I wasn't overstepping. But she eased my worries with her whispered words, "I will gladly accept your mark, Chaos."
I allowed my canines to extend, sinking them into her marking spot. Holding her close, I felt the familiar rush of pleasure, the same sensation as when we mated and I received her mark. Our bond strengthened and completed as I released my canines from her delicate skin, and I gently licked the area to aid in her healing.
Skye went limp against me, completely exhausted. Blade reassured me before panic could set in, "She is just exhausted, a combination of releasing us from the spell and our mark. She is fine, she just needs sleep." Carefully, I moved her from our position and placed her on the bed. I got up for a moment, putting on my clothing and grabbing her nightdress. Despite my desire to sleep with her skin against mine, I worried about overwhelming her power, especially in her exhausted state. I dressed her with care, doing my best to ensure her comfort.
Returning to the bed, I nestled beside her. "Words will never do justice for what you have done for me," I whispered against her. "Thank you, Skye, for freeing and accepting me. I will do my best to never let you down." With those words, I closed my eyes, allowing sleep to wash over me.
_______
It was difficult to discern the time of day in this underground place. I understood the significance of Skye's journey, but as she slept, I gently held her, my hand brushing against the fabric of her dress. Rest was crucial for her right now, as she needed to regain her strength before I could comfortably accompany her. Even though I now possessed better fighting skills, we remained unaware of the challenges ahead, and I refused to risk her falling into Rook's clutches again.
After what felt like another hour, Skye began to stir. Her eyes slowly opened, and when she looked at me, a radiant smile adorned her face. I couldn't resist and leaned in to kiss her, but she tensed up, causing me to quickly withdraw. "I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" I asked, concerned. "You're angry again," she whispered. Taking a deep breath, I admitted, "I was thinking about Rook, I suppose that got me worked up." I felt remorseful for a moment.
"Try again," she whispered, extending her hand towards me, urging me to kiss her. I obliged, but with caution, ensuring she was okay. Eventually, I broke the kiss to assist her in getting up. "I know it's not always easy, but if you take a deep breath before touching me, it helps control your emotions. I truly enjoy your touch, so please never think otherwise. Your efforts to avoid hurting me mean a lot," she said. Skye then confessed with a smile, "I'm accustomed to slip-ups. My family often overwhelmed me unintentionally, especially my brothers. They were always together, crowding me with their different emotions and thoughts all at once."
I could sense her deep love for her family. "I look forward to introducing you to all of them. They can be a handful, but I have a feeling you'll fit right in," she explained.
I hesitated for a moment. "Is everything okay?" she asked. "Nothing really," I replied. "I look forward to meeting your family as well."
"Chaos, you said you were raised by the Kingdom, so like me, you were orphaned as a child. Did anyone adopt you?" she inquired.
"No," I confessed. "I was raised in the orphanage, but we were treated well and received good training, although we had no choice but to become warriors."
"My family is your family now. They will like you, so no need to worry," she assured me, her voice soothing and gentle.
Skye walked over to her bag, the sound of zippers being pulled echoing in the room. It was clear that she felt comfortable around me now, as she got changed without hesitation.
"I'll go closer to the exit to see if I can pick up on any scents," I suggested, my voice carrying a hint of caution. "When we leave, I want you to stay behind me until I know it is clear."
"Okay, but you be safe as well," she replied, her voice filled with concern. I made my way towards the exit. I detected no traces of anyone nearby, but I knew we still needed to remain cautious. Some fae could mask their scents, and potions could be used to deceive us.
Skye approached me. "You did not eat last night. Maybe take the opportunity now, and then we will leave," I suggested. She seemed one step ahead, and she handed me a bag with food.
"I'm fine," I insisted. "I have plenty," she admitted.
"I'm used to eating once a day. I have for years. I am very aware it's not enough, but I need to adjust to more," I confessed. She opened her bag and began to eat, and I patiently waited.
"You should not have been treated so cruel," she whispered, her words carrying the weight of empathy. "Even if you were guilty, the way you were treated showed those keeping you prisoner lacked humanity, making them no better. When we're done, I want to see if Jade can do something to change some of that."
Her gaze met mine, and a smile graced her lips. "I'm ready," she declared. Despite the dangers she faced in this realm, she remained brave. I understood the importance of this journey to her. Not only was she searching for a place that once flourished with her kind, but she sought an answer to help her control the beautiful powers she possessed. I vowed to do everything in my power to ensure her journey was successful so that she would no longer suffer.
With Skye right behind me, I started up the ladder, the creaking of wood breaking the stillness of the air. As we exited back out into the forest, I took a deep breath, the scent of pine filling my lungs. The fresh air revitalized me, and I felt a surge of energy. Blade howled within me, and I knew we were whole again, ready to protect our mate and keep her safe.
