It was odd how Alyssa felt more at home in her tiny apartment than she’d ever felt with Parker. But there was a melancholy factor in it. He had been a constant in her life for so long that it felt like she’d lost something. Maybe she hadn’t loved him but she’d definitely been attached to him. He’d been her friend but he’d done the unforgivable by betraying her.
