The nearly ten hour drive had drained Alyssa. She’d been slower then usual since her wound was still healing and a pang of sharp pain shot through her abdomen a few times. She’d had to stop more than once to give herself a break. But it would be worth it to see the look of surprise on Parker’s face. He was supposed to be having a guys night at their apartment.
