The Accident

Sweetheart!!!!! "Hailey is running temperatures, I don't think she can come with us", Mrs. Xander explained to her husband while looking at the thermometer. Should we take her to the hospital? Mr Xander asked his wife. "No need for that honey, I just gave her drugs, the fever would soon subside" Mrs.Xander explained. "Okay, sweetheart, I would go get ready for the event, you can stay with Hailey at home, Mr. Xander said." No sweetheart I can't miss the event, I intend to find potential clients at the party., don't worry about Hailey, I will get the housekeeper to look after her while we are gone", Mrs. Xander responded. "Okay then let's go get ready", Mr. Xander said.

After an hour, the husband and wife got ready for the event, and they both went to Hailey's room to kiss her goodbye. "Hey sweetheart!, Your dad and I are heading to the party, please take care of yourself, sweetheart. We won't be gone for long," Mrs.Xander said. "Mom am 26, and I can take care of myself, don't worry about me, I would be fine," Hailey said. "Okay honey, call Grace the housekeeper if you need anything," Mr. Xander said, "Okay Dad I will", Hailey replied. Her parents kissed her cheek and then left for the party.

After her parents left, Hailey slept off, she woke up after 3 hours feeling strong. She took the thermometer to see if she was still running a temperature. "Oh!!! It looks like the fever is gone", she said, then dropped the thermometer on her dresser and went to take her bath. After taking her bath she went downstairs to have dinner, when she got to the sitting room she noticed her parents were not yet back from the party. She decided to ask their housekeeper, "Grace!!," Hailey called the housekeeper. "Yes, ma the housekeeper" answered. "Are my parents back from the party?", Hailey asked, "No ma they are not yet back" Grace replied. "Okay, please get me my food," Hailey said. "Okay ma," Grace replied. Then went to the kitchen to get dinner for Hailey. Ring!!! Ring!!! Hailey's phone rang, "Hello! Who is this?" Hailey inquired.

" I'm calling from New Hope Hospital, please I need to speak with Miss Xander", the caller said Hailey became nervous, then replied, " I am Miss Xander, how may I help you?"She asked. "Your parents got involved in a fatal accident, your Father died on the spot while your mother is in a coma", the caller explained. "What!!" Hailey screamed and fell. "Hello," The caller said, No response from Hailey. With that, the caller ended the call.

Grace ran to the sitting room when she heard Hailey scream, she then saw her on the floor trembling, "Miss Xander," She screamed while shaking Hailey, so she could regain consciousness. She quickly called 911 and Hailey was rushed to the hospital.

After being admitted to the hospital for 2 days, Hailey finally regained consciousness, immediately she woke up, she looked around and then saw Grace sleeping. She quickly woke Grace up, "where are my parents?" She asked. "Miss Xander, some policemen came over after you lost consciousness and said your parents are dead, they said your mom died in a coma", Grace explained while crying.

"No" Hailey screamed and wept bitterly, she cried until her eyes started hurting, and she stayed awake all night mourning her parents.
