I tell Xander everything when he comes back from work.
“I saw Dominic and his mother while I was out shopping.“
“You went shopping?“
“Yes. I got you a few things. Is that okay?“
“Of course. You don't need to ask my permission to do anything. I'm just worried that you ran into that jerk while you were at it.“
“He doesn't scare me, but the threats he made, babe, I think he means it.“
He snorts as if it's the funniest thing he's heard. “What is he going to do?“
“He said this is not the last of him we're seeing.“
“You don't need to worry. There's nothing he can do to hurt you or me. You certainly don't have to worry about Rose. She's protected.“
“Thank you.“
